[Req] "Droid" notification sound - Droid 2 General

I have another android phone and would like that tone on it.
Sent from The Chaotc Void.

I currently have a Droid 2.
I'll try and post the sound up this afternoon, I'm incapable of posting it right now.

Droid Sound File
Here you go. I had to put the sound clip in a zip file or else xda won't let me post it. Just unzip it or drag the sound clip out of the folder then transfer it to your device. Enjoy!

for future reference, you can find that notification on apps such as zedge and others.

Actually, i tried zedge first. They were all bad recordings, or cut off early. Thanks for the tone!

Just copy your favourite MP3 to your phone and use it. You can cut it if you want with HTC MP3 Trimmer.

No need to use PC. HTC MP3 Trimmer does it on the phone.

How do I add notifications sounds to phone

Ok i have rooted my phone and i got everything working new ROM and new theme all also brought in ring-tones and go them to work. My only problem is how in the hell do i get the phone to see notification form my Sdcard and how do I apply them.
Thanks
Copy your sound files to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications/
I was able to get a custom mp3 file i had to work as the default ringtone notification in Settings->Sound & Display->Notification Ringtone
It should work with any sound file. Can anyone confirm that any file works other than mp3, like wav, m4a, etc...

Does ringtones, alarms and notifications.
MP3 alarm clock ftw.

Where is Alarm sound folder?

I'd like to change the sound of my alarms, does anyone know what folder to put the sounds in? I put a few files in the normal sounds folder for SMS and things but they don't show up when choosing the alarm sound.
Have you tried placing them in the windows/rings folder?
All notifications sound (including alarm) are placed directly in the folder windows\
and in some ROMs, you also can find them in windows\rings
Oh I see why they're not showing up, they were .mid
Do you have any good alarm sounds that will work?

You should be able to get alarm/ringtone sounds posted by others if you search either this or more likely the Themes, Applications and Software forum

How to install custom ringtone?

For the life of me I can't figure this out. I have an mp3 and I see nowhere on it to set it as the ringtone, and I see nowhere on the ringtone menu to use a custom tone.
Yeah, just went through that myself. Not sure if it's a bug, or what, but I found a workaround. Check my other post on this in the development.

EDIT: Oh wait, that fix is for setting a custom ringtone for one specific contact. If you just want to set your default system ringtone, that's under Settings > Sound & display > Phone ringtone. In order for your mp3 to show up in the selection of ringtones, you will need to created a folder called ringtones on your sdcard and put the mp3 in there.
great! thanks
Or you use the app called Ringdroid , lets you edit mp3 into ringtones and its free.

[Q] Ringtones and CM7

I haven't played with ringtones ( besides default ) until today. Well I have convinced myself that I am retarded. I did some searching, and I found out that the ringtones are in the /system/media/audio folder. Great ! Copy and paste, right ?!? Wrong. Putting an MP3 in there did nothing. Hmmm, all the files are ogg ... so I convert the MP3 to ogg. I changed permissions to match the default ones. Hell, I even made sure it had a capital letter. Now it does show up in the list, but not with the proper name. Its listed as "0". For God's sake, there has to be a way to fix this and there has to be an easier way to add mp3's/oggs for custom ringtones. Honestly, if I can get the Imperial March to play when the wife calls and the theme from Jaws to play when the mother in-law calls, I'll be a happy guy. Please tell me there's an app for that !
**rant off**
Ringdroid.
Also.. /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
Thank you. Hangs head in shame ...
By accident I found out if you long hold the song in the music player a menu will appear. Select use as ringtone. Showed up in the list perfect for me.
