Hi everybody,
I installed the WP7, everything seem to work, but no WIFI. Bluetooth works, voice works, camera and video..Everything but WIFI. It just says "searching.." but nothing happens.
DO I need to unlock the phone and use Cheveron to get WIFI? Can anybody help? I'm using Sandisk SD 2GB card.
**BTW
I'm from Israel, we don't have the WP7 here yet, so Microsoft IL don't even know what I'm talking about regarding the activation code. Sent mail to the US office, hope it'll go through.

this has been reported to be caused by an incomatible sd card. read HERE through the posts and you will find out more.
I think I read almost every thread possible regarding WP7 wifi. Looked there, will look again. Thanks.
Are you sure IT didnt work and your sdcard is compatible?
If yes try a low WLAN channel instead of a high one, i cant connect to my own WLAN if i use WLAN channel 11-13...dont know why
You could try removing your sd card and rebooting. Bear in mind it will essentially reset to default (new) install. And will format your sd card when inserted again. So be prepared to start from scratch.
Same with me, it found every other wifi except my own one. My solution was to switch off my phone, switch off my wifi. Then switch on my phone. Then switched on my wifi, and it found it.
Worked for me, with out taking out SD Card.

Had the same problem, phone could find other wifi but not my own. This solved it though.
I had a similar problem too.
Wifi was working on the most WiFi networks, except for mine.
It was necessary to enable Reverse Access to router. . .

Hi. i was wondering if anyone can help me out. i have the Spectec Mini SD WiFi card (SDW822 Mini SD, 802.11b standard). The card worked real well and now 6months later, it doesn't work. This is what i mean. anyone who uses it sees a green blinking light on its antenna and the device "sees" a hotspot and asks if i want to connect to it. Now, the light only blinks as if it is finding the correct setting, but doesn't pick up on a WiFi signal at all. Even sitting at my university in a "hotspot" in my student center, the card doesn't seem to be picking up the signal at all even though the appears the card is operational (the blinking green light).
i am not sure what to make of it, like if there is something busted inside the card or not, or is it my actual device (even though it worked for 6 months, why it doesn't work not i have no clue). i tried installing the drivers again, and even installing the latest driver provided by Spectec. nothing works though nor was their support much help (they just answered to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers but duh, i already knew that lol). can anyone let me know a solution like if i need to buy a new one or not? i miss having the WiFi on my ppc/phone and i don't have an unlimited data plan, plus even if i did, GPRS is painfully slow.
if this helps, my phone is an E-TEN G500 running Windows Mobile 5.0 (AKU 1.1.4). i hope i can hear a response soon. i may just end up having to buy a new one but i would like to hear anyone's thoughts. i hope you guys can help me!
by the way, i don't think it is my SD card port b/c i can still use any other card that i put in the slot with no problems like my GPS and the card i use to store my music and such.
Does anyone have anything to say? i tried their support again and still told me the same thing from their automated e-mail then send out and its really frustrating. even more so, no one has been able to say anything about to respond to this thread. please let me know anything that could lead me to a solution. i dont want ot have to buy another card to see if it works or not.
I guess no one wants to help me i guess these forums are useless if no one wants to help one another. i was hoping this would be a simple solution. i am gonna have to buy another card and see if it is my original card or if it is my device. i even upgraded the OS to AKU 2.2 but still nothing with my original card.
thanks everyone for your help
Hi, I have an HTC HD2 with android NAND NexusHD2-Froyo V1.9G NAND. Have no sd card recognized and can't activate my wifi cause give an error. I was really mad about this problem and I notice there is no solution for some guys like me, so now I found a trick to solve it and maybe you find it usefull.
1. Turn off cellphone.
2. Remove SIM Card and SD micro card.
3. Turn on. Active the "only 2g network" in settings.
4. Reset, and keep the back cover open.
5. When turn ON, go to settings again and enter the sd card settings. There is no info cause there is no sd card insert.
6. As the back is open you can now insert the sd card. THE CARD SHOULD BE NOW AVAILABLE.
7. Go to activate wifi in wireless connection settings. For me is working.
8. Now active the Airplain Mode. And turn off you phone again.
9. Extract the SD microcard. Put the SIM CARD. Leave back cover open.
10. Turn ON. Deactivate Plain mode. Now you should get call signal. But again no sd and wifi
11. Repeating step 6. Go to SD card settings and insert SD card.
12. Try wifi and SD card. ALL WORKIN.
I hope it work for you. Please forget for my english.
Hi Shingo, hi all!
Finally somebody with the similar problem as mine...I was browsing and searching all over the net for the solution or workaround but without any success!
And it starts to drive me completely crazy!
Well I have HD2 with "CORE Droid 1.3 NAND" Android, and my main problem is something as yours but not exactly the same.
In my case, I CAN turn on WiFi after rebooting a phone, and it's working flawlessly UNTIL phone goes into standby. After 10mins or so (obviously after phone goes into complete sleep) when I wake up the phone I can see that my WiFi connection is gone and I CAN'T turn it back on cause it gives an error which you can see in Wireless settings (WiFi - Error).
Then, because of the obvious reason (wifi's not working), or maybe something else, all the apps which are depending on refreshing it's data from wifi (push mail, maps...) are force closing, starting with Google Services Framework, Maps, Beautiful Weather Widget...
I wanted to try your solution but if I pull out SD card and SIM card my phone doesn't even wants to boot up. Obviously because it has some crucial data stored on one of the partitions on SD card.
Another thing is that, if I pull out SIM card and boot I can't change anything in network settings...?!
I'm really not an expert, but maybe your Android NAND build is so much different than mine, so I can't apply your fix/solution...
If somebody else has an idea or maybe a possible solution, or even an advice what to do I would be so grateful!!!
Thank you all in advance!

Hi,
Just an update to my problem. Yesterday morning I've cloned (formated ext and copied) my Kingmax 16GB SD card to spare one I have which is also 16GB in capacity but from SanDisk.
I can confirm that from that time I didn't have either force closing apps or WiFi errors.
I don't know if somebody will find this information useful , but it saved me from my despair! I was really going crazy.
Since I'm using NAND CORE Droid v1.3 which has some of it's data on ext partition it even make sense that better/faster/just-another-brand SD card makes such a difference.
But, as I said, I'm just a noob here....if somebody has another opinion or suggestion, it's more than welcome
Thanx
Can someone tell me how to get the Wi fi working in windows 7 on hd2 ??
assuming you have actually tried turning it on there couple of a couple of possible reasons its not working.
firstly WP7 wont connect to hidden networks
secondly, wifi not working is a very common sign of a incompatible SD card,
Thanks for the reply
a "compatible SD card" well what are most people using?
I am using a SanDisk 4G is that good or bad?
I also have a 16G but that’s for android
I'm using my stock tmous 16gb sandisk. From what I've read, & including the three HD2's I've installed WP7 on, it's very compatible.
yes i have the same problem, i know my sd card works with it because, i went through like 4 roms, and it worked perfect. I have installed HD2O_1.04_DFT_LEO70_RELEASE, and everything is perfect BUT wifi
ok let me be clear on this one, dispite what some folk on here believe there is no compatible list, any thread suggesting otherwise is just a waste of bytes.
however, in saying that, statistically, you have a better chance with a class 2 or 4 8gb or 16gb, thats not to say others wont work because they might, in short its luck!
sandisk, an all the other brands all suffer the same issue, im not going in to details on that issue but bassically even the same make and model of a card may or may not work, this is down to the manufacturing process and what components are used.
The only way you can take anyones "advice" on a specific card working is if they have tried it and physically gave it to you.
yes its a common error, you SD card might work but if its not completely compatible it may have issues, wifi, lagging, random reboots etc.

then, it's not your sd card that is the problem! simple logic here mynamemonte.
can you new folks please be more specific when asking questions? a generic question like "how do i get wi-fi to work in wp7 on a hd2" leaves open all sorts of interpretations.
a better question would have been..."i've tried such and such to get wi-fi working and not having any luck". also, if you include the rom and specific technical information about your set up increases the likelihood of a direct answer.

Yes i was going to put more effete into it but I assumed that know one would replay and it was late at night
So for the SD it's trial and error then ??

That is what I've gathered from all the readings on the SD card issue in the various forums. I'm using Kingston 16GB SD, class 6 that I bought to speed things up a bit when I was still using WM6.5. Works fine for me, but I'm on Frantic's 7008 ROM.
I think SD issues are a combination of both the card itself and the tweaks of the various ROM cooks put into their individual versions other than the basic DFT port.

Thanks for the info. I was getting tired of having to switch my broadcast option at home to use wi-fi. I've installed it and we'll see if it works at home tonight considering I may need the NoDo update which isn't out for the HD2 yet.
Will report later.
Btw...HTC sent out an update for the Connection Setup tool on Marketplace this morning. Just in case this update fixes any issues I may run into with HTC Wi-Fi I would recommend people install the update.

Hi, my Windows mobile HD2 all of the sudden is showing no signal. Could this be maybe a pin from the sim card reader or has someone seen something like that before??? I have an HD2 running android also and is working fine. So im thinking this could be a hardware program. I even downgraded the windows version to stock but it didnt work... Thanks!
1. Try another SIM card;
2. If dropped(or sit on it), it could be the 2 metallic pins(bent) from motherboard to GSM antenna(locate on external case);
3. Hardware problem(rarely, but possible).
Other than that, no more ideas...
ok before you go replace the SIM card, do this:
1. Sometimes turning the wireless connections off and then back on will resolve the issue.
2. Power phone down and back up
3. Make sure that Windows didn't decide to deactivate your phone's radios (aka airplane mode)
scroll to the end and hit wireless controls and make sure wireless connections and phone are set to on.

Try to install different version of Radio it might solve the problem.
Hello people,
Does anybody have problems with Wi-Fi( sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, and it shows a very poor signal and not all networks are visible), Bluetooth(won't work at all) and SD card mounting (keeps mounting and unmounting randomly)??
I'm using Samsung Galaxy S4(GT-I9505), CM13 (pretty much all nightlies I've used have the same problem), and switched back to TouchWiz, same problem. no fix.
If anyone knows or heard about these problems please tell me. And Thanks!
Yes I tried others, same problem. and no. SD card work fine, I dunno I think it has something to do with hardware, do you think so also?
I flashed back to TouchWiz, but Wi-Fi and Bluetooth still have problems, Bluetooth won't work at all, and Wi-Fi (doesn't work well, shows poor signal and not all available networks).
And SD and SIM cards are pretty moody, they keep mounting and unmounting randomly.

Hey! Did you ever find out what was wrong with this? Mine stopped detecting the SD card first and said it wasn't formatted right. Then went the wifi. Lastly, after a factory reset, it decided my SIM card wasn't there. It is. Everything was working beautifully for a few days with Legacy OS (I switched because I thought my Android update was why my wifi quit right after).
I tried the fix of putting pressure on the connector by putting a little piece of tape or folded paper over the connection point (just to the left of the flash- I'd post a link, but I'm not permitted yet- new user), but to no avail.
