Anybody have any luck getting swype or SlideIT on your droid pros? Judging by this topic posted below, nobody can get anything besides the native soft keyboard

Haven't found a thread on this anywhere else.
Has anyone tried the HappyTapping keyboard on the Cruise and can confirm it's compatibility and usability on this HTC model?
Advice much appreciated, don't really like any of the inclded keybaords.
iPhone keyboard...hmm... IMHO it will never work on WM devices.
But if You want keyboard with "pop-up" letters, may be You should try PocketCM keyboard - http://www.pocketcm.com/keyboard.php
Also give Cootek TouchPal a try I am sure you will like it.
Resco Keyboard includes an Iphone keyboard and it works great (I know it's commercial but...)

Hai, and tnx for the awsomesouce forums :>
i just finished unbricking and modding my Niki100 my skin of choice was insomnia forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=497347&highlight=insomnia
for the sweetass looks
but i was wondering if there is any chance of modding the onscreen keyboard to look more like the iPhone keyboard? or atleast bigger letters "i know about the biggerletter function in the settings tho :>"
sry if this is a repost, didnt see anything about this on the 1st 15pages.
Install ezinput or better android and use it's keyboard. Its exactly like the iphone.
Hey there
*Stubborn as I am, I have searched and tested numerous keyboards until I found the keyboards I couldn't get to work. Started a thread in the themes and apps section with the keyboards. I have them all working on Darky's v7.7. This way for the thread ==> Working european keybords for JPY with most languages*
I just laid my heavily modified HTC Desire to rest and got me this wonderful new toy. Started out with a root and a flash.... and then the keyboard hell started.
I've been used to the HTC keyboard where almost all languages are included (and found it for my Galaxy and the scandinavian languages are in there, thank god), but why is it the samsung and swype keyboards are so difficult to get to work?
I'm currently using Darkys 7.7 (Kudos to the Dev.. nice ROM!) but none of the scandinavian languages are in there. Tried putting in the JPM keyboard, got the language, but XT9 doesn't work...
Does anyone have an insite to this? I've seen a lot of people asking, but noone seems to get a strait answer. The HTC_IME works fine, but I would like to keep things "themed" all the way..
I got the same problem,..

I was very pleased with the HTC Sense keyboard that came with the HTC Desire Z. This keyboard was perfect, it clearly showed what words it saved into my personal dictionary, corrected simple spelling mistakes - normally with very nice accuracy. Correctly punctuation perfectly. It was just perfect.
Now after switching to CM 7 I cannot find a keyboard that suits my needs.
Swiftkey: Very nice, a bit too big of suggestions, but it does not learn from the words I use at all. This was with trial version, does the full version fix this?
Smart Keyboard: Learns from my words, but its suggestions are buggy. It does not autocorrect nearly enough, often missing many words, doesn't correct punctuation etc. And also it will show my passwords while typing, I mean in the suggestion box. Entry box is *****, but suggestion box shows it plain as day.
Any way to fix these problems or are they other apps I should try for physical keyboard?
i love swype
i know you can install the htc soft keyboard on top of cyanmod, but what I don't know is if it only effects the onscreen keyboard. Worse case scenario is it does nothing for your physical keyboard, but that doesnt leave you any worse than you already are so check it out lol.
I'd check for you but htc keyboard makes me rage so much. I use swype for onscreen and I cant tolerate the autocorrect when im using the physical keys lol.
I know you can get the stock HTC keyboard here:

im using something called HTC_IME not sure exactly what keyboard its from, but i asked for it on here in the apps section calling for a keyboard that is the same as the mt4g one. been great for me
I use uberkeyboard, its about £1.50 but has auto production & grammar correction for the physical keyboard.
The software keyboard it comes with isn't to pretty but it does the job!

Any updates on this?
I'm in the same situation as Bob. I just ROM'd my HTC to Cyanogenmod 7, but the keyboard doesn't suffice.
I installed the apk of HTC_IME floating around, but it's only for the touch input, not for the built-in keyboard. So far nothing compares to the built-in keyboard software from HTC. Is there any way of ripping it out of the stock HTC ROM when rooted?
I use the paid version of SwiftKey, and it's terrific. It learns so well from the way I type that it's a bit creepy. It even scans all of your sent messages when you start it. I can't recommend it highly enough. My only gripe is that it doesn't support skinning yet.
where i can find htc ime for your Iconia's ?

Multilingual on the market. Make sure to get your correct language plugin.
Hackers keyboard is what I use, its very capable, and has arrow keys..
SmartKeyboardPro allows you to recreate exactly the same experience as HTC IME (even the look of it) and it even adds some nice features.
