Dock and the whole time charging.. - Desire HD General

hey folks,
it's that never ending question i guess
i buyed that nice KIDIGI Dock for my dhd..it looks so pretty in it..and with the "Desk Clock" it adds a nice look to my desk.
so my question is, if its really that bad to keep it in there all the time. what about trickle charging? does usb support this?
i dont wanna damage my battery..
btw: when i get home, my battery is normally about 60% charged..if i put it in the dock whenever its on 60% it shouldnt damage it right? the memory effect can't happen on li-ion batterys compared to ni-cd ones i guess...
any tips?
how do you handle it?

ah btw: if you wanna have some pictures of the dhd in the dock, it's a pleasure to share them with you!

Li-ion battery does not have memory. They have a limited life time. Normally around 2 years. Whether you charge it or not, does not make a difference.
You can go read the boring details on Wikipedia.

ok thanks...so i think i'm gonna have that great look all the time
btw: this is it

Need help identifying if this is a fake battery

I just bought this off ebay (i know) it was suppose to be a OEM battery for my wing. But when I compared this to my wing's battery I noticed that my battery is made in Taiwan and most of the pictures of the OEM battery say the same, but this one I bought says its made in CHINA? does anyone elses battery say that?
Heres the battery in question.

Heres the battery that came with my wing.
That's actually the same battery I have in my wing.
Oh. . . I see the difference you're talkin' about. Mine's made in Taiwan as well.
Yes it is a Legit
No the battery is not fake. It is an original battery. I have confirmed it is same as I have on my ing and will be getting a replacement pretty soon. I think you have a problem of the battery not holding charge correct? And this happens with the chinese as well taiwanes batteries, right? Well i strongly suspect that there are only two possibilites. 1- The OS and the phone are power hungry. 2 - Dyna pack makes the worst batteries.

Making a phone call kills the battery?

Ok so I got a replacement for TyTN but now if I call anyone or anyone calls me and I talk for even a couple minutes the phone battery will get really hot and will die in under 3 hours being at 100% before the call...
The only fix is a hard reset and taking the battery out for a few minutes and then the phone will run cool as usual but the second a call is made bam! does the same thing again...
Is there a fix for this?
Or does anyone know what would cause it?? I have had it happen on different radios so the blame can't be there.
Or is it a hardware issue that I need another replacement for??
hermes's get hot. Thats a fact. they just shouldn't get too hot (4-5 hours of use, while charging, wifi on and so on...) because the heat could be transfered to the digitzer near the processor and if that happens the digitizer could become unresponsive (touchscreen->lookscreen^^)...
MY hermes is getting hot all day, if it gets too hot, I take an old cooler from a cpu, open the battery door and lie it on it ;-)

Make sure you are using a 1A charger. This was a huge headache for me when I had my Wizard, the dude sold me it with a RAZR 750mAh charger and it caused me to buy 5 new batteries until I figured this small fact out!

this is much better

i was sure getting sick of the bronze keyboard so this is how i spent my afternoon

Help! I've opened the power button cap to try to fix it, any ideas?

Hey all
After two months of treating my HD like a newborn puppy, I left it alone for one minute at a friend's house and someone spilt drink all over it
All is well (eventually...) except for the power button. It acts like it's permently pushed down, so I always have the pop-up 'Are you shure you want to shut down?" and I can't suspend/wake up/turn off the phone (apart from workarounds) or even leave the phone turned off without removing the battery.
I've read old posts on this, and was following some advice from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520702, but I yanked the button up waaayyyy high! (see pic!)

Anyway, I want to try any tips before pushing the button-cap back on. Has anyone seen the insides enough to suggest where to stick a pin/lever it back up etc etc?
If it makes a difference, the end nearest the 'white' bit is pushed down into the device a bit - is this its natural pose or is that my problem>
Cheers for any help, hopefully one of you beautiful XDA'ers will have some help, a beer if anyone performs me a miracle!

Acer factory!!!

Just a joke
