hej there.
i wanted to know which custom rom for htc tattoo has the longest batterylife.
i use SPQRom 0.7 and its holding one day(about 18-20hours),but im playing alot and my wifi is min 3 hours on.if i wouldnt do that i thnik it would hold for sure 2 days.
how long holds your battery, which rom do you have and do you use some program for it(like advanced task killer)?
Hmm, my phone is pretty much constantly charging from usb since I'm working on my roms all the time. But on my latest gingerbread rom, just now, I'm still at 100% after 8 hours. Pretty much just been in standby in this time.
Battery use:
Cell standby: 49%
Phone idle: 48%
Wi-Fi: 2%
Display: 3%
oh realy?thats very good.
which rom is it
1.KalimGingerAz 10.8 Gingerbread 2.3.2
or
2.nFinityGB v0.6 - Gingerbread 2.3.2
??
nFinityGB, obviously.
My stock ROM also show 100% for 6-8 hr after that direct show 94-95% than after 10 min show 89-90%
what is this going on
EDIT 1 my sister have htc p3400i (WM 6) 2year old when it charging it show 100% in an hour but if i use it it works only for 5-6 hrs if i charge it for 3-4 hrs it work for 1.5-2 days
is my software going corrupted how i can correct it ?
I think this is normal. The drop from 100% to 90% will always be faster than a drop from 90% to 80%. It has to do with they way the battery is charged. Although it says 100%, it's not really charged to 100% because of safety routines in the charging code preventing damage to the battery. Or so I read somewhere.

Now, I know that it depends on what programs are running, like... whether you have any minimized or in the background, but on an average 1500 mAh/3.7V battery... what is the amount of use time that one can expect...?
Let's start a thread on this subject... listing the type of battery, approximate age of same, the names of the files/programs you run & use in a given day, and the amount of hours of overall use you get before you have to recharge or switch it over to a new/fresh battery. This way, we'll all have a better idea as to what programs really drain the phones, such as when you leave the WiFi and/or Bluetooth "on" all the time - waiting to be used (a sure guarantee to have a dead battery in a matter of hours).
We can subtitle this one under "The Cost of Staying Connected" (not including air-time charges or monthly fees).
i think my battery life is terrible... but its understandable. usually i run wifi and phone all day long.. the only reason i run wifi on all the time is because i have a feeling everytime i don't... somehow i get charged for using evdo (from bell in canada)... but i dont?? its really weird because i used to always get these random charges.. but ever since i kept my wifi on all day everything is all good. i have the original battery that came with my ppc 6700.. and i use the phone around 40-70 minutes of talk time. no real apps running but a few games of solitaire here and there. but if i were to talk non stop it only seems to last like 1hr
my battery life is like 10 hours and i always have to charge it when i get home from work or school or ill be doomed the next day
Since upgrading to WM6 (thanks helmi), my battery life has found NEW life. I used to have to charge it everyday: no wifi, 50% brightness, screen off in < 1min, etc. Since upgrading, I can run it at 100% brightness, screen off in 2min, and I don't have to charge it every day.
This is with the factory battery, and an eBay replacement sometimes used.
always running: freestyl (flashlite), sms threader, mbutton
phone is usually locked with s2u2
most use it usually gets is me checking the time
update rom from verizon, .net 3.5
ever since i updated the rom, it seems like i only get <24 hours per full charge (battery purchased less than a month ago)
w/o wifi or bt i get about 3 days however it depends on what version of windows are you running have you guys updated to the new 6.1 or 6.5 biulds?
My battery life its very short but, i use my apache with core play at my car with my kids plus the wifi, and blue with hand free, soo i've to conected every day, and i'm use 2batterys
original battery... i got 3 days on standby.. and 2 days in normal call usage...
but
with wifi my battery gets drained to the bone in 40 minutes LOL
thats all =D
About twenty minutes. I know I need a new battery >_>
... that and that I'm surprised I've got over 240 hours clocked in the lifetime call timer.
Using a 2600mAh 3.7v Battery
I had my extended battery for about 2 months now.....
TCPMP:Battery life is close to 5 hours on the lowest brightness level using headphones & on speaker mode I get about 3 1/2 hours.
Making Calls: I sometimes spend about 2 to 3 hours on the phone & that leaves the battery to about 70% or 60%.
Wifi: I don't use it for a very long time, but when I do it could be about 1 hour and that can leave my battery to about 80% to 70% when done.
Videogames: I use mainly the Morpheus(emu) usually about 20 to 30 mins and only seems to leave it close to 90%..
With random use I normally have to charge the battery every 2 or 3 days... I play with the phone quite a bit tho! Mostly text messaging (turning it on & off about 20 to 30 times daily).
With my 2 normal batteries? I think they need to be discarded soon lol!!!!!!! Wifi will deplete them(each) in about 4 or 5 mins tops!!! TCPMP about 10mins(screen on at its lowest with speaker) & 15 mins max(with headphones & screen at its lowest brightness)... Phone Calls? about 20mins tops(with the screen turned off)!!!!
So.... I strongly recommend the extended battery on Ebay for about $22(shipping included) so that you can enjoy the phone alot more!!!
I try not to keep the phone on the charger until the battery has depleted to about 20% when the warning comes on and fully charge it always!
i tried billions of batterys + new ones and my g1 dies after 3-4 hours of use i use CM 4.2.3.1 and also i have tried to use overclock widget and make everything not to go over 246 and still any idea why?
It's something to do with Cyanogen's Rom. I flashed (by accident admitidly) the Dev Rom (from htc.com) and then for some reason it removed my recovery image so I couldn't flash back to cyanogen and didn't have time to sort it out today.
I only had to charge once, using my portable motorola charger thing, for about 30 minutes, the whole day. It's lasted around 15 hours. On Cyanogen's roms I was averaging around 4-5 hours. I was web browsing a lot too (had a long coach journey there and back with no headphones)
That's strange, i was getting 2-3 hours using standard G1 (after updating to Donut 1.6). I'm now on 4.2.3.1 and battery life has greatly increased!!!! Although i am using overclock widget as well... But it does come down when browsing a lot..
Battery life is a real pain in the ass for me too, I was on the Cyan train but I jumped to a soul life build and on a day of light usaged I have gotten a full 24+ hours off a single charge, and on heavy use 6-8 hours before it turns orange.
But
I disable "Always on-mobile Data" and typically am on Edge/2g networks since I don't really care to use the auto refreshing browser much.
I've played with it a lot.
Loaded a lot of widgets
3g
2g
Always on data
etc etc etc.
I would go back to Cyan but I'm sure he doens't have these features [always on mobile]
But mind you it's a 1.5 build I'm on.
iam sure them options are now integrated in the latest release but 2-3 hours is major strange i would look towards a problem with the battery or the charger perhaps?
brit
I know that if you remove the batterystats.bin file while the phone is plugged in your battery life will be extemely short. Plug it in and charge to 100% and then unplug and remove the batterystats.bin file through the terminal. If that doesnt work ,then you might need a new battery.
For the record ,i have very good battery life on CM roms, over 12 hours with medium usage, so dont blame the rom.
I recently unrooted my phone, went back to the original: image, spl, and radio. I noticed that my battery drained real quick on the old radio. I installed cyan's 4.2.4, Danger SPL, and the 2.22.19.26I, and with this configuration I'm lasting 1-2 days on idle. (Oh, I'm also using setpu ramping from 128-528mhz).
Hi All
I have struggled to find out what the average battery life is for everyone with a Touch Diamond 2/Topaz. I think it would be awesome if everyone posted what their average battery life is and include your ROM, Radio, battery size/type, average standby, call time and device usage so we can all cry with jealousy for people that get 3 days!!!!
My phone:
HTC Touch Diamond 2
1350mAH Li-ion "Hero" battery CS-HDE190SL
Rom: 2.17.421.1 (68613) WWE
Radio: 4.49.25.91
Protocal: 61.44etc.25.35U
Avg. Standby = 1 day
Calls = 30 minutes
device usage = 45 minutes
3G off, Wifi off, bluetooth off, Push email/internet off
Details in siggy, my life is pretty bad, 2 working days at most. When the battery is low its slow and sluggish as well.

1. Discharge the device. Absolutely.
2. Take out battery to 40-60 sec.
3. Put the battery to the place. Don't switch on the device!
4. Charge the device by normal way (not by usb!) to the full state (green LED).
5. Take out battery again for 40-60 sec.
6. Put the battery to the place.
7. Switch on the device.
That's all.
Battery Calb.

Did it make any difference???
I am also on T-Mobile UK and have short battery life.
I have tried many different ROMs and Radios combinations but none seem to increase the battery life.
Are you in a good or weak signal area?? I've read that can affect battery life too.
What ROM/Radio are you using?
I cailbrated on an HTC Pure battery and it made no appreciable difference I still use it alot and the battery runs out pretty quickly. If I charge to 100% and go to sleep with Klaxon I'm at 97% uncalibrated and calibrated and after one episode of Big Bang Theory I am from 100% to 81% uncalibrated and calibrated so it did nothing.
Mine is also 1 day of use..
i'll try the calibration tonight and see if it'll change...
My battery life totally bad. I'm not sure if it's because my heavy usage using Opera/BOLT browser??
From fully charged 100%, it only takes 1 hour to go down to 30% simply by browsing the net in HSDPA/3G connection
ENERGY ROM
Bluetooth = off
wifi = off
email, every 1 hour
twitter = 20 mins
facebook = can't remember how long
But I don't think email/twitter matters too much because they only check email/update status for a couple of seconds.
Can someone tell me if my battery has gone bad? or it's normal to consume 70% in 1 hour?
Touch Diamond 2 - HTC 6.5 Rom
Email - Every 1 hour
WIFI - ON (battery saving mode)
Bluetooth - 2 hours each day (commute to work)
Usage - 4 hours each day with screen at half brightness.
Standard battery (1100mAh) 1.5 days of use
Extended battery (2600mAh) 4 days of use
Samsung GT-T5800. Android OS 2.1-update 1, I5800XXJH1, Kernel 2.6.29 root SE-S603 #2.
The problem:
1. Battery till 50% discharges normally - about 10-15% per day, but after 50% it immediately shows 15% and asks to connect charger and phone switches off very fast. actually no chance to mane even emergency call. No 40%, no 30%, no 20% in battery level.
2. When connect phone to charger - battery charging level immediately set to 80% or every ~10 seconds: 50%, 60%, 70%, 80%. After that phone charges about 1,5-2 hours till 100% and after about 1-2hours it asks to disconnect from the charger. Battery temperature during charging and after it: 31-33C.
After 3d 8h 40min. (~80hours using applications: Battery booster and Memory Booster, no 3G) of battery usage phone switches off.
Battery usage was:
Android system: 61%
Cell Standby: 19%
Phone Idle: 12%
Bluetooth: 4%
Voice calls: 4%
Time from 15% to 5% - 15 minutes with no using the phone. Battery's temperature 20C, Voltage: 3588mV Phone switches off. I have tried 2-3 times to switch on the phone to make battery more empty and finally switched it on and at the same time connected it to charger.
Here is the interesting charging time line after phone died and was switched on to charge it (sorry - no in seconds):
0:00 - 1% - 20C/3588mV (temperature/voltage)
0:01 - 3%
0:01 - 5%
0:01 - 15%
0:02 - 15%
0:03 - 30%
0:03 - 40%
0:04 - 30%
0:05 - 15%
0:07 - 15%
0:09 - 30%
0:12 - 40%
0:14 - 30%
0:15 - 15%
0:16 - 30% - 28C/3698mV
0:18 - 40% - 28C/3718mV
0:20 - 50% - 28C/3730mV
0:21 - 40% - 28C/3727mV
0:23 - 50% - 27C/3728mV
0:36 - 60% -
0:36 - 50% - 26C/3769mV
0:37 - 60% - 26C/3774mV
0:59 - 60% - 26C/3807mV
1:24 - 60% - 26C/3807mV
2:06 - 70%
2:07 - 80% - 26C/3906mV
2:44 - 90% - 26C/3971mV
3:18 -100% - 25C/4101mV
4:03 -100% - 22C/4184mV - Asked to disconnect the charger.
After this charge GT-I5800 (with no any software changes) stoped to show 50% to 15%, but 30% disappears fast to 15% (it means one short call).
Possible that battery issue reason is that (I think) phone was charged partly switched off and partly switched on.
Maybe there are some battery level controlling OS software bugs, I do not know.
Is it official bug or issue?
Or some guru can comment that battery level issue? I saw I was not first user having it.
should be from the firmware
it seems this happening to all
Well i also have exactly the same issue...
I have observed that when i make/recieve a call the battery voltage decreases greatly because of which the battery also decreases and after sometime the battery voltage comes back to normal but NOT the battery.
My battery also drops down from 50% to 15% or 5%.....It's really very annoying...
I think that this is a frimware issue but i am not sure..I am scared that it could be a hardware issue...
Well i have mailed Samsung also regarding this issue so that they fix this issue in the next frimware upgrade and hope others also do the same so that we have a better chance of this bug getting fixed.....!!!

And when I switch off / on the phone then it shows probably correct vallue. For an example. It shows me 15% and after restart it is 60 %. What a stupid bug - I've never have this problem with any device before. Even phones 10 years ago were able to show correct battery status. I think this problem was also with original 2.1 android firmware.

yes, in JP9 / froyo is still this battery problem. When I switch on / off the phone then it's ok. Does someone resolved this issue please ?
My issue still exists. Froyo did not help. Also I can't understand why does one time on charging battery becomes hot, another time -cold.
same for me, and today i charged my phone and after charging just put it on my table after 1h i saw that there are only 80%. Didn't see this on other firmwares
Same here. I thought it is because of my battery manager widget which I had installed, but un-installing/master clear also did not help. Looks like it is major problem. Moreover, few of the battery widgets mention that in some devices they report 1% level battery change, but in Samsung I5801, it will be 10%.
what about this issue at JPA ?
when you was installing JPA did you hard reset your phone ? (factory settings)
If yes which application do you use for restore all of the datas and settigns ?
Yes, it was done. Hard reset seems is not related, and did not help.
Same problem here...
Since built in battery meter is not accurate at all Im using custom one but problem remains.
might fix battery issue.
might work...saw it for Epic 4g and gave it a shot (as its Samsung too). Some sites say LiON do not have memory like NiCd did but somehow it worked for me. Now I stay on 100% for 5hrs or so. lasting 2 days with 45mins call time and some Wifi use. Like today charged full 100% at 9AM and now its 2230 and I have 80%.I have switched off a lot of things. See below.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=701567
Above needs to be done once only. If it doesn't work then go to service center. Remember battery has 6 months warranty only so be quick and try above on new battery.
I also run LauncherPro instead of stock. Disabled data and enable when out of AP range (only use Wifi when needed and have an AP). Background data/synch is always off unless I use market. All apps are set to never except Gmail. Use K9 Email too and ATK. Am on DDj6 FM. Have removed a lot of apps, foursquare included and run 2 screen with LauncherPro widgets only.
Settings to switch off are here.

As long as I know li ion batteries doesnt have the memory effect but they still have to be recalibrated from time to time, lets say once a month. That means dont charge the phone until it goes off and then charge to the top.
I wasnt willing to wait for 11 hours for phone to charge when I bought it and after few days I ve notice that battery last very short. After that I ve performed the full cycle (drain to the bottom - when phone turn itself off, then after few minutes turn it on, wait until it goes off - repeat few times until its completely off then charge it fully - I usually turn off the phone while charging ).
As long as I know all modern devices like phones, notebooks etc shut down before the battery is completely drained because they want to have safe margin of the battery power because of, as long as I know, when li ion batteries become completely drained then could be damaged completely so you cant recharge them again. Anyway with that "turn on then its drained" I believe that I use the battery more than normal and that phone will recalibrate to the new situation figuring that battery have more voltage than phone "expected".
Anyway with few recharging cycles like those I ve described above I can use the phone now for a 2 days with moderate usage...
That 50-15 problem still exist but 100% period last quite long and also phone can be used a long time from the moment battery reach 15% ...
Try doing it the other way round!
Keep your device on constant charge or at least as much as possible for 10 days from new and you should have now problem.
I have run tests on Lion powered devices for the past 5 years and I have never had to "calibrate" once.
My battery usage is always consistent and seemingly accurate.
And this method encourages max power from the battery.

i just flashed my I5801 with Froyo (XXJPB and then XXJPA), but having very low battery back up, can anyone advice something which can help boosting the performance of the battery? Please help.
I have found a way to solve the problem with the battery in a few simple steps without erasing any battery stats or doing anything.
Firstly, install a Start-Up manager to control the apps wich are started after every boot. Leave only the important ones!
And now you have to recalibrate your battery, so
here is what you do:
1. Charge your phone to a 100% (that will take you about 3:00 hours)
2. Discharge the battery until the phone turns of by itself
3. Try turning the phone on until the battery dies completely and the phone doesn't start.
4.Take the battery of and then put it on.
5.Try to turn the phone on until the battery dies completely.
6.Now charge it up to 100% ( minimum 3:00 hours no matter that the phone says it's charged)
7.Ready! Now enjoy your amazing battery life!
Note: I recommend you to charge the phone for minimum 2:30 hours no matter if it says it's charged. Now, i charge mine for 3:00 hours wich is enough.
Here is one Start-Up manager. I use it.
how many days with wifi, gps and so on... ?
Well, before that I was unable to last for half a day. I had the same problem with all of SwiftDroid versions so I followed these steps and my battery life has increased dramatically up to 3-4 days !!!!!!
I use 2 hours wi-fi, 1 hours listening to music trough headphones and my brightenes is set to 40%.
Hope i helped you!
I see this post on all threads....;-)

Thats isnt a battery problem. After you take a call some google services are using the CPU with 100%. After ich kill the google services tasks the cpu goes down to 20%
NO. Before that procedure I restart my phone and don't talk with it and the battery drained ... And after that procedure I talk and there is no battery draining so it's not because that.
thanks gonna try it now

if u rename system/bin/akmd2 (akmd2_backup) and reboot,
you get another 1-2 days, but lost compass and
accelerometer, this process permanently takes 1-5% of cpu, but there is no other solution
i try what i found on internet
adb shell
echo 250 /system/data
but not sure if something change, i also found some open alternative,
http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=ru#eYOWr2vJSqE/akmd/Akmd.cpp&q=akmd&d=1
..it works very well for me after doing this.... i might even say it lasts a bit longer then on stock 2.1 with cpu tuner and settings ofc.....swiftdroid v2.0 M2...
There is a good application on the Market. BatteryCalibration
You need to have root. Extended my battery life for 1-2 days!
helps a little bit... but nothing like 2.1 stock
I'm on 2.1
Nothing helped. It is possible that battery just reduce its capacity? I dont want to install another android just to see how battery is there...
nah im fine atm. i always charge at night and my battery lasts till about 10 oclock, then it gets to 10%.
I've installed joes 2.3.2 without any battery-problems.
i'm running setcpu with 852max. -> did you set "on demand"? when setting to performance your phone will run out of battery within a few hours.
my battery life is around 2-3 days with AOSP 2.3.2 @ 852mhz max.
before with 2.1 @ quarxblackkernel @ 800mhz max. around 2 days
