I just installed the CM 6.1.1 ROM and have everything updated and running the way I want it to: Other than MyAccount (and WiFi Calling).
Is there a way to get MyAccount to recognize the SIM card number, that way it can pull my account information? I tend to rely on this app greatly for not going over minutes.
If anyone has any ideas, that would be great!
Thanks!
I've never had any troubles with the MyAccount app on any of the CM ROMs. What is it doing? Does it simply hang there in search mode looking up your account info? If so I would make sure that in Application Management the app be removed from the SD card entirely and run it in system completely, MyAccount and Visual Voicemail tend to run smoothly like that.
Why don't you try re-downloading both apps from the Market?

[Q] "Application is not installed on your phone" after restart [G1/SuperCSDI (1.6)]
Hey,
so the other day, out of the blue, I noticed that my desktop shortcuts to Twicca and Google Reader displayed the generic "gears" icon and when I tapped them it says "Application is not installed on your phone". I believe this happened after a restart, but I'm not entirely sure when exactly. I haven't done any major updates to the phone, and I've been using the SuperCSDI (Donut) ROM for a few weeks now without any issues.
The applications are not in the launcher either. In the Market, the option to Open the application is greyed out. If I go to uninstall them in "Manage applications", I get "Application not found". The only way to uninstall them is via another application manager (I'm using ES File Explorer), which has a shortcut to Uninstall, and that works. And after uninstalling, I can install them again through the Market.
But this has happened twice already, and to the same apps (Twicca and Google Reader). What gives?
I ran fix_permissions and that didn't do anything. I'm also using apps2sd, which I heard has had some similar issue.
What causes this and how can I fix it?
Thanks in advance.

Really? But how come it happens to the same two apps? Everything else works fine. I'll look into it, but I doubt it's the SD card...
More importantly, WHY does this happen? I don't know much about Android's internals (nor about apps2sd), but is there something that gets corrupted? How can I check this?
Thanks for your help.
Allows you to manage APP installed via the website and have them pushed to your Android devices. Not sure if anyone has looked at it yet.
Im on Bonsai ROM with Market version 2.2.11 and its not working for me. The website finds my Epic but apps don't get pushed to my phone when I click install. Is there a newer version I need?
I havent I'm not by a computer but I'm interested though....
Is it like the app store on itunes?
I'm tired of updating my phone and not having acess to certain apps
This would take all the pain away!

Worked for me, but I'm on stock.
Wasn't that one of the features of Gingerbread? It thought they mentioned that at the Froyo push last year.
They actually first showed this off last year at the Froyo event.
Getting SERVER NOT FOUND error?
I was able to use this today successfully. I remotely installed 3 apps, with absolutely no problems. It recognized all the programs already on my phone.
I'm on Nebula 1.0.7, so stock is not required
I'm on ViperROM 4.0.2c and am able to use it. The thing I like the most about it is that it has kept track of all the applications I've installed (which isn't the case when I flash my ROM). So I can reinstall the APPs throught he market. (yes the market keeps track of my purchased APPs, just not the rest of them via the phone.
It also makes installing the same APPs to multiple devices at the same time via the same Google account very easy.
I am on Quantom 2.7 and the website just doesn't see my phone at all. Wonderful.
are you guys just going to market.google.com??? I can't get to it from my computers.

Google the term "market"
Thank you.
And for anyone else reading this, the correct website is:
https://market.android.com/
I'm running Nebula and when I go to the web market, all of my apps that I've downloaded are there, but it won't recognize my epic. Anyone else found a fix for this?
Works on the current nightly of Cyanogenmod 6.
Shows the list of currently installed applications, and the instant I told it to add Angry Birds (not that I'm interested) my phone began the download.
Awesome.
Combined with the way all apps reinstall after a new flash, I should not need to use the crappy on-phone application again!

Well, I just flashed to a new ROM and am now once again having trouble with the sync.
My market.android.com list shows like 20+ applications, but Bonsai ROM downloaded 2 and acts like it is done. I'm going to have to go down the list and search for each of them now. Or maybe I'll try the same from market.android.com
EDIT it's working, but the list of installed apps on the phone's Market won't even update...
Time to say "goodbye" to appbrain. Finally.
Oh nice
Thanks for the tip. I was able to use my computer to browse the market and it was able to see my installed apps ok. I am running stock DI18.
Darkk
Says no phone associated with my account even though I can see my market history. I'll chalk it up ito being a new service and not fully up and running yet.
So it's finally out. What do you guys think? Is this the end of Appbrain? I loved appbrain cause I can browse the apps on the website and then just click install from there and it will automatically install on the phone. Now this can do it too!
The biggest upside to this? You can install (after you pay) "in-app" purchase app from the website. e.g. you can install the NBA League Pass from the website directly. Any other features I missed?
This is from Google themselves, not me.

Cool. I like it.
I never really got into appbrain, because it still involved that extra step of opening the application itself.. and blah.. I think, I can't even remember. It just seemed tedious at the time to go onto the computer when it was quicker on my phone.
Then when Google does it, I'm all over it. I have been installing random applications just to install them. Why is this so awesome?!
I played with it for a while now and everything seems to be working well. I guess I can save some space by uninstalling appbrain and use this instead.
sweet jesus!
I'm like'n it...good stuff!
The automatic OTA install is working to my N1 and my Galaxy Tab now, it wasn't earlier this morning.
Works well!
With this new website comes another big change that will happen in the 3rd quarter of this year: NO MORE "LITE" version apps.

That's actually a good thing. You download the "free" application, and then if you decide to unlock it you buy the key from within the app rather than a separate unlocker application, or having the market cluttered with 2 separate versions.
Sounds like a plan!
The in-app purchasing as a general concept I'm not a massive fan off as it has the potential to lead to nickle & diming, primarily for games, but if used responsibly it should be good.
Wow, about time. Glad to see it's finally here.
now all they need to do is let you backup your app data. I dont want to lose my angry birds scores everytime i switch roms and forget to back it up with titamium backup
Well, I don't suppose there's a way for Market Enabler to work on the website?
It lists paid apps from all over the world, but it knows your phone's carrier and will prevent installs if your country does not support it..
I guess it's back to Market Enabler on the phone.
Anyone else having trouble actually buying apps from the website? Installing free apps works like a charm, but trying to purchase and install paid apps doesn't work. I press continue and _nothing_ happens.
running CM7 nightlies and the OTA installs are not working...
According to the website, you need to be logged into GTalk, only my GTalk won't log in. GTalk also appears to be missing from the market, so the problem may be on their end...

Doesn't work for me, it's been years and Android Market still doesn't support Google Apps accounts for Checkout. Although I can login, no devices are listed under "my devices" on market.android.com
I'm running CM7 Nightlies as well, I'm a few behind though, and I'm always logged into GTalk and the OTA's are not working for me either.
It's not working here on MM v.20. I've tried installing several apps but nothing happens on the phone end, the GTalk solution they give also doesn't help. Weird thing is they all show up on my app list as completed when none of them have actually installed.

I'm having the same issue. I'm running CM6.1 kangorama's version and the install says it has worked on the website, but nothing changes on the phone itself.
I'm wondering if it has to do with it being a rooted device without a stock rom?

I'm betting that someone is going to have to create a Web App Store Enabler or something along those lines for this to work on rooted phones or phones without stock ROM's.
i google'd this but can't find anything on it and was wondering if the s3 is the first phone that allows users to disable at&t services without root. this is my first android device so i wouldn't know if that's true...
anyway, i have hotspots, navigator, messages, and updater. Carat is saying updater uses a lot of my battery, but that is the only one i can't disable in the application management menu in settings. however, i assume if i disable the other 3 then updater will have nothing to update and will consume less battery (hopefully).
has anyone tried to disable these programs with success, i.e. without it causing problems to your phone?
im not sure. but i did try to uninstall one and then it just showed up that it needed a update so i ended up redownloading the app because im so OCD about having updates not done
ATT Apps

You go into the application manager and DISABLE the app. I have gotten rid of ALL the ATT bloatware this way. Works sort of like
Titanium Backup but you do not need the root. Great option.
CC
This is actually one of the 'features' of ICS (being able to disable apps w/o needing root). It basically very similar to "freezing" apps in TiBackup if you have root. It's generally much safer than outright deleting an app since if you do find you need it you can always re-enable it.
Make sure you have "auto update" unchecked in Google play first. Go to manage apps in settings and then go to "all".
Disable the ones that you don't need which is prolly a lot. You can also hide them if you want. While in your app drawer hit the menu button and choose hide apps.

Guys
Wonder if anyone can help me with this unusual issue I am facing. To begin with, I was tinkering with my phone to see if I could get the JB AOSP Browser installed on the phone and as part of that I uninstalled the Chrome application that comes built in using adb. To my surprise, even though adb indicated that the app was uninstalled, i could see it and it still worked. So instead I reinstalled it again and all was working fine.
However later in the evening the Phone and Contact apps disappeared from the phone and instead I could see an android icon in its place. Now I cannot see the Phone or Contact apps in the app list but if I go to the settings>apps>all apps, then I can still see both apps...Initially I thought that it must be my apex launcher but even after uninstalling it, i cannot still access the apps using the default launcher app.
Has anyone seen this or know how to get the apps back? I could reset the phone and get them back but I would rather leave it as the last option.... also see attached image regarding what I am talking about.
I had a similar weird issue after I rooted and I lost my email and talk apps. After much tinkering and research I fixed it by going to settings >apps>all apps and then disabling the apps, clearing data and then re-enabling them. Did the trick for me so might be worth a shot.
