Sprint to anounce release date of supersonic?

I seen a rumor that sprint premium account holders got a message saying look out for an announcement of a groundbreaking new device tomorrow. Supersonic anyone?

I love it. We are such phone geeks that we get excited about an announcement of another annoucement. I read VZW is announcing the Nexus tomorrow and been inpatiently wating. We are proud nerds.

I don't think it will be the Nexus. It will be the HTC incredible or maybe both?

I bought it the day after launch then got the Evo 3d on launch day. Now I just bought a used one off ebay for my mom to replace her Hero(my old phone before the 4g) It's been a blast playing around with one again. My 3D is better in almost every respect theres 2 things that bother me though. First is the new aspect ratio on the screen, the second is the great roms. We don't even have a rc for cm7 yet and our ics is nowhere near the 4g.

You'll be getting the real deal with ICS, so who cares how far along progress on something thats gonna get replaced is?
I wouldnt build ICS for the 3VO if its just gonna be replaced by an OTA. Wait for it to drop and customize from there.
The EVO 4g on the other hand, has a lot of development going on simply because its the only way we are going to get it.

sure is amazing the development that goes on for this phone. most other phones get left in the dust way sooner.

sprint discontinuing the hero?

i was reading on another forum that sprint is going to be discontinuing the hero and the moment? is this true? if soo im really ticked considering these phones are less than 10 months old.

i just talked to my friend who works at radio shack and he confirms these phones will be discontinued and not carried for much longer. are there any sprint workers here that can confirm?

id think most users would be pissed right now. i think if they are doing this, it's just to get users to get a droid phone with 4g so we can pay that 'coolness' fee. no reason for you to take offense, this isn't geared towards our small amount of devs here, im talking about sprint/htc. even the damn 1st gen droid got 2.2 and it's about to be discontinued.

im not talking about being outdated. YES in comparison to other droid phones "evo" it is outdated. but i do not agree with them stopping selling or carrying them yet.

I honestly... don't give two ****s. It's the progression of technology. To move with the times, you need to improve with the times. I think it's not bad to discontinue the Hero, but it certainly isn't good either. Hey soul sister, hey that mister mister on the radio, stereo......

already sold...i got twice what i paid for it. but i needed the cash too at the time. now that im going back to work i may give the evo another shot and buy an extended battery. i dunno yet?

Ah the Hero.. I forgot about even having one :/. I remember that phone being the phone I wanted for a whileeeee and then I finally got one only a month later to get the Evo.

The epic is a sleek beautiful phone... in my opinion a lot nicer than the evo, i love the flush buttons at the bottom but i dont like touchwiz or samsung so i won't be getting one

There's an Epic section on XDA. Doesn't matter which phone I get, I'd just be loading AOSP or CyanogenMod on it. But please, come down, from that cloud you're sitting on, I don't expect you to admit that you were wrong.....

well ladies and gentlemen, i just wanted to say thanks for all the help and advice on my journey to find out how to get the most form my vibrant. i couldnt resist the samsung epic with the slide out keyboard and the 4g speeds and the front facing cam. the thing that i love most is that it has the ability to run stock android 2.1 without rooting. I seriously dont have any basis for comparison but the epic feels smoother running touchwiz than the vibrant does. It must be the fact that the vibrant runs touchwiz 3.0 while the epic runs touchwiz 2.5. I feel like going from the vibrant to a phone like the evo is like cheating on your girlfriend with her best friend. Going from the vibrant to the epic 4g is like cheating on her with her cousin...at least im keeping it in the family....lol. if anyone wants to talk cases or accessories, you can find me in the epic 4g forums

Life is full of shoulda woulda's, I probably will stick to a HTC or a Motorola smart phone next time for the exact reason you listed. But the devs here keep me happy with my epic, I have no buyers remorse only because of them.

Wow, way to beat a dead horse.....You say the Epic has taken too long to have its updates released? I haven't heard that complained about by.....everyone on the forum. Maybe next you'll enlighten us with a complaint about the bugs in EB13 perhaps? I don't think it's been complained about enough. Heck make it 2 posts for us!

Here is the difference..... devs can change and fix software. They can't change a cpu or gpu. CM7 looks to be coming anyway.

S#it, this made me breathe a little easier. Its good to know a main dev will be killin it for a while. If I do get another phone (maybe I have a hookup for getting Evo 3d on launch day at 2 yr contract price) I am definately keeping my Epic.

This is good to know. SRF is the only ROM I've ran since I rooted this bad boy and even though I've thought a few times about trying others, I've then thought, "why when this works so well?"
Anyway, I'm up for a new phone (bought the Epic from guy on craigslist since I couldn't stand the BB I had any longer) but thinking about letting wifey use it so she too can rid herself of the blackberry.
Knowing the devs plans certainly makes that an easier decision. With k0 going to continue development, and the very real possibilty of CM7, I think the Epic should last me quite some time.

The development and updates of it seem awesome!!! And im fine with the speed of ny epic and would mainly want a nexus for updates and the rom galore
