Just search the Q&A forum. You'll find loads of threads talk about pushing apk to system/app folder.
In quick, you need to do it from recovery( or from RootExplorer when you s-off'd)

How this you go about installing it ? Am assuming if you managed to delete it you must have rooted and got adb running or Root Explorer.
If you have root explorer and have placed the files in system/app the only issue I think you have is with the permission.
Mount as RW
Navigate to system/app , long press the mms.apk and select permissions, change the permissions to
Read Write
Read
Read
Now do the same for the other file, once your done check below your file description , the permissions should now be similar to the other files present there.
Mount as RO
Reboot,
hopefully it should work.
Cheers,
Vikram.

I think that only .apk will be needed. .odex exist after start of application, so I think that it is only some cashe/data file.
My mms.apk can try download here.

[Q] GoogleServicesFramework.apk won't install

Wonder if anyone has any ideas about how to fix this: I rooted my Kindle Fire, installed root explorer, everything's working fine. When i place GoogleServicesFramework.apk on my device and install I get a message that it won't install. I've tried placing the apk in the system/app folder, still no install. My ultimate goal is to get the Android Market working. I've been all over the threads in the developer's forum for the KFire ... no one has posted that they've not been able to install GoogleServicesFramework.apk. I must be missing something obvious ...
I'm having the same issue... even tried to "reset device" from the settings menu... but to no avail!
I am having the same issue!
You need to copy the file to /system/apps and change the permissions to 644.

How to change the permissions with ES Explorer??
I'm a complete noob at this. I see Root Explorer can change permissions but it is on the Android Market and I can't get to that until I get all of this installed

I got Root Explorer from Amazon App Store (not free) which I used to get the android Market APK copied to system/app and change permissions. Works great now.
The system is telling me I cannot move the file to /system/app becuase it is read only. When I try to make the directory writeable via root explorer, it does not work (will not perform the function after selecting it in the upper right corner).
I am getting really frustrated with this. I hate to ask but would someone PLEASE dumb this down for me. If possible please provide step by step commands of how to change this file permission. I visited the link and did not get it (feel like a retard right now). Not sure If I should be using ADB, RE or something else.
I have rooted 8 phones, flashed tons of ROMs and for some reason I can't accomplish this. I am about to throw this Kindle POS into the FIRE AAAARRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I had the same problem, but I had already side loaded some other Google apps, so I did a full factory reset and it installed just fine. It was the first thing I loaded on it, just to be sure. I never had to play with permissions.
It does depend on what version you use though, and there are a few flying around. I used the one from here
Also really frustrated
I am having the same problem where I can't install googleservicesframework. I also can't change permissions because root explorer doesn't show up in the android market. THis shouldn't be that hard! Already spent 4 hrs messing with this today.

DId a full reset. Rerooted Kindle. Side-loaded Root Exporer and installed on Kindle. Changed permissions on system and on apps. Moved GoogleServicesFramework.apk to system/apps. Also changed permissions on the apk. Still won't install???
Update
Working now. I loaded a different GoogleServicesFramework.apk and it installed right away. Weird. All is good now!

Can you let me know which version and where did you get the googleservicesframework.apk that finally worked for you. I still keep getting the same irritating "application not installed" message. If I see it one more time I might do some serious damage to my KF
Why don't you push the market to your device using dos commands

What exactly happens when you use the factory reset button on the KF? Understand that you lose root but what about all the apps that you have installed from the market, are they still on the device or do they need to be reinstalled as well? May be trying this as I can't get some things to sync, or wait and do it after the next update.
Thanks.

i believe you lose everything in the /data folder, so yes that includes apps you installed from the market.

Problem fixed
Had this problem too but turns out I wasn't using the right framework apk. Download the one from the pcworld turorial! Google "install android market on kindle fire" and open up the tutorial, there's a link in the post to the google apps package!
The just tap it in root explorer and install!

[Q] Help installing Android Market

I have followed the instructions from pcworld.com(unable to post link due to noob status) which happen to appear on several other sites.
I'm having issues copying the vending.apk file to /system/app with File Expert. I think it's a write-permissions issue but I don't know enough to get around that. File Expert says that it's mounting this directory successfully but it's just acting like the file is being copied when it's actually not. Please help...
Use the method posted here then if you are still having problems come back and ask questions.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1351283
Thank you for your reply. The method I used is very similar to that one. I have been trying to paste the vending.apk into the /system/app folder as this tutorial instructed and it has also failed. I tried mounting with File Exper and with ES file explorer. Is there another app I should try to use to accomplish this? Doesn't seem like there's anything better in the amazon app store. Maybe I have to manually install an .apk of sorts?

Other users have reported lack of root privelages with file explorers from the Amazon App Store. At one point Root Explorer and File Explorer were removed, and File Explorer was the only one that's returned (now with limited funciontality). I'm guessing Root Explorer no longer shows up for this reason.
Either sideload the Android Market version of a file explorer from your phone, or download the .apk I posted here. I pulled it from my phone and it should have full root privelages. It worked when I was setting up my KF. This version was pulled prior to the most recent update, so it's a little outdated.
So basically what I've followed thus far was a combination of both instructions. I'm going to assume that since SuperOneClick said everything was rooted - that it is. So in terms of installing the android market, here's a tl;dr of what i've done and where i'm at:
- adb push googleframeworkservices.apk
- adb push vending.apk to the appropriate directory and assign its permissions.
- Used File Expert to install MarketOpener.apk(places an icon in carousel so you don't have to use alternate launchers)
- rebooted KF
The market opens up fine now but whenever I go to download something it either says "authorizing purchase" or "downloading" and never progresses beyond that. Please, PLEASE let me know if i'm omitting any piece of information that may help you guys assist me. Thanks for all your good work fellas, I appreciate it.
maybe you have a bad vending.apk - there are some bad versions around.
post you mine and try again with the adb method i suggested.
posted framework just to be shure.
did you install the vending.apk ? look at point 7 of the guide i linked in carefully !
good luck !

How do i set up cracked google wallet?

I've tried copying the apk from downloads and pasting it into /system/app but i just get an error saying access denied at the end!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks!

how do i go about doing that?
I've tried to find it, but just can't find out for the life of me!
You need Root Explorer, ES Explorer or similar. Before you paste into /system/app you must mount /system as read/write within the app, then paste your file in. Once there, tap and hold on the file and a menu will appear with an option to fix permissions. You need to set owner with read/write and group and world with read only (it looks like rw-r--r--).

That's the bit i'm struggling with!
I'm sure i sound a complete retard, but i've tried long pressing on the system folder and i can't see any way to change permissions(i've checked properties but i can't edit any permissions)
I'm using ES Explorer, i have astro file manager too, but still struggling!
Sorry if i'm being a pain
EDIT: I've found the problem... i didnt enable root browser in the options ¬_¬
sorted it for now i think!
Thanks a load both of you
EDIT #2: I've changed the permissions, then something forceclosed, and now i've restarted and am stuck on the google screen on boot not good i assume!
I can't do anything with the device now!
did you change permissions on just the wallet.apk file?
