okai, so, heres the long and short of it. WP7 on NAND, Hspl3'd, 2.15 radio and a range of SD Cards, the one I'm using currently is a 16gb Kingston Class 4 but the problem also appears on the standard HTC card that came with the phone and a 4gb Sandisk Class 4 (This leading me to believe it isn't and SD problem).
The phone flashes all correctly and boots back into MAGLDR, i then reset MAGLDR (just in case, ya know) and go to boot WP7.
Heres where my confusion kicks in. Sometimes, it boots first time, it goes through booting fine. other times, i get 5 seconds into the DFT logo bootscreen and it crashes, re-booting the phone. And most of all, i get 1 2 3 4 5 6 GO GO GO! and it crashes and re-boots the phone *sigh*
this persists over multiple OS and MAGLDR 1.12 flashes and seems to all be dependent on time. If the phone crashes once (fails to boot) it wont boot again at all for the next 10-30 minutes, then, if sufficient time is passed, it will boot without issue. And yeah, i don't think its heat related, the phone stays fairly cool throughout the process (I've had my phone get hotter on an underclocked android build )
Any ideas? i apologise if this has been addressed elsewhere, but ive kept my ear to the ground in this forum for a few days and have done a few searches, as far as i know, this is a new and confusing issue :L thanks in advance.
Hey mate... Weird case... Did you tried to Wipe the phone to Factory settings? (I mean uninstall hspl, android magdlr e.tc???) Try it and post here with your results... Just make an installation of the Winmo 6.5 only!
Give it a shot now, just to be sure, flashing a standard Winmo rom wipes my HSPL don't it?
have you tried formatting the sd card with panasonic sd formatter...if not i think its worth a shot...make sure to set in options to full (erase on)...hope that helps

No.. you can still have the HSPL and stuff! Somewhere here i saw a topic about Uninstalling all these together!
In addition try the comment above mine and post your results!
If it's not the problem then try Mgdlr 1.11 with Android build... Most probably something went wrong with the installation!

I use the sd formatter from SDcard.org, but yeah, full erase has been a button ive pushed somewhere along the line, alas to no avail
The problem is WP7 specific, I've never really had much trouble with Android builds on Nand
Wp7 boot problems are related to your SD card then! Wp7 is known to have these problems on several SD cards... I use Chinese cards (not branded) and are working just fine... i have 8gb class 4 and 16gb class 6.. LOL!
Its what i thought at first, but seriously, 3 different brands of card all crapping out? Kingston and sandisk cards work for others on top of that, but i think now you guys have given me enough to get on with, i edit OP if i ever get it working :L thanks a bunch for the advice

Tried posting in general and no helpful replies so im going to try here.
original post - hi there. i bought a new class 6 8gb Micro sd card about a week ago.
When my phone was using the class 2 card my phone with an installed rom and was working perfectly. In the following sequence, i started using my new card. formatted the card to FAT32 and then booted into fastboot and formatted it into fat32-ex2-linux. reboot my phone with the new card in still and all it does is loop over and over.
i put my old sd card back in and the phone boots right away. is ther anywhere in the sequence which tells you guys im going wrong and if so can someone please advise me on which way to go?
thank you very much
edit - did a data wipe and fresh install with the class 6 sd card and it does the same again. looping over and over on the boot screen. will be going back to the class 2 for now
for your info this phone is a voda magic. 32b. cheers
Update -
quick update on the situation. Wiped the card, reformatted all with new partitions and success! it booted with new rom etc.
after around an hour my phone had turned itself off. only way to turn it back on was to pull the battery and then power on. after around the same amount of time the phone did the same.
i pulled the card. phone powered on and then stayed on. very strange
someone give me some help please!!
thanks
have you try format your card using recovery? Amon_Ra recovery is very usefull..there is an automat format SDcard in to 3 partition..as far as i know..you just need to configure each partition size according to what rom you are going to install..
if amon_ra's recovery doesnt work for you (it should work great) you can download GParted Live and format it using that... its a great tool for this you can get it here:
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
i have tried formatting through recovery images also. why do u guys think the card turns the phone off?
im just lost here

no afraid not. same old story. what do u think the problem is?
What rom are you using? maybe a bad DL...
any and every one i can just to test it.
everything stable just on my class 2. have ordered another class 6 8gb card will let u know how i get on
Ok guys this is really frustrating. I have Android ROM and I want to try WP7 ROM. But every-time I install any ROM I am either stuck on GO GO GO or afterwards I am stuck on white screen with green HTC logo in the middle. I performed task29 before installing anything. I suspect on my SD-Card( I have Kingston 4 GB Class 2), so I borrow another one-Transcend 8 GB Class 6. And again the same problem, WP7 is is stuck on GO GO GO or white screen with HTC logo. What can be the possible explanation here? Anyone?
TnX
it could be a number of things, ive found the best way is to start again. SD flash an original wm6 stock ROM, then install hspl 2.08 > radio 2.15 > magldr 1.13 > os
take you SD card and download SDformatter, format it again
try again.
note that both your cards may not work and if you search you will find all of this info
Tnx mate, but I do the procedure 4 times without success. I still suspect that the problem is with the SD-Cards. Today hopefully I will try with SanDisk 16 Gb class 6. From what I read SanDisk is most used. And if this failed, I will flash stock WinMo 6.5 and reinstall everything again.

I have the same problem. Flashing complete in 100% but i can't pass the HTC logo when it's booting.
This is not SD fault because I have another device which is running fine...
Did task29, flashed winmo6.5, radio, hspl, magldr 1.13...
One phone simply can run wp7 and another can't ?

dont do the task29
SD flash WM6.5, HSPL, radio, magldr, flash OS
oh i wouldnt go with a class 6, whilst some folk have had working ones many more havent got it working, class 2 or 4 is best, just because its a class 2 doesnt mean its slower than class 6, infact many folk, myself included believe the class 2 and 4 is quicker
Did exacly what u said.
WM6.5 --> HSPL --> radio --> magldr --> flash YukiXDA'a OS
htc logo stuck
As i said i have another hd2 which is running on wp7 for a week... ive done exacly same thing to the both of them and one is not working... Is there something else what i can do?

Hmm, so your saying thatyou have access to 2 HD2s, running/trying to run WP7 and that one of them works with the SD card but the other doesnt work with it?
Ok I forgot to replay that I did it . In my case there was no need for stock ROM. I just:
1. Did task29
2. Installed WinMo ROM (In my case Dutty's V25)
3. Install MAGLDR
4. Install Wp7 ROM...and it works

Yep. Im doing EXACLY same thing to the 2 devices. Using the same SD card. First phone is booting and working second is not.
Tried about 5 times (to both of 'em to be sure). I have enough. This just can’t be done. Don’t know why. Maybe there is something wrong with memory? IDK... but this is extremely frustrating.
Ziaren, Do you have 2 SD cards with your 2 HD2s?
Have you tried with both sd cards on your HD2 that has this trouble?
Just a thought.
Good luck

Have you tried to flash your stock ROM, then to re-flash everything? (HSPL, WinMo, MAGLDR and WP7)
Dear xda users,
My Girlfriend got a HD2 and I installed Android on it.
She used SD versions but she kills them everytime.
After a month the phone got stock on boot screen.
Then i tried to install NAND Roms but after 2 months of smooth running the same problem again... (example: Coredroid, and sense roms)
I think that the problem is that when the phone freeze she pull the battery out and after a few times the phone won't boot anymore.
Followed all the noob friendly guides.
Followed all the instructions in the post of every rom.
Installed the recommed radio, MAGDLR, CMW, data partions that were in the instructions
Common problem on sense roms?
Should i try to install no sense rom?
(Got experience with Desire HD flashing and Touch pro 2)

Hi,
It could be that with all the battery pulling, that the pins could be bent.
Make sure they are all straight.
Buy her an iphone, then she can't pull the battery! :-D

I don't think it's hardware related.. Because i can boot in the MAGLDR without any problems.. But when i wan't to boot android it hangs on the coredroid boot logo
(This happends with all roms (sense) i tried so far)
Boot into magldr and re run the rom from there, cleare the caches firsr ot course
Then glue the battery in - buy a tazer and promise her a double dose if she pulls the battery again
lol, hahaha

ive seen a few posts where people have struggled with getting past boot logo, think it was fine after using a different partition in recovery but as your device is for the sd build am not quite sure how that works as Ive never had sd android or if having sd requires clockwork mod recovery? if so try different partition as i said earlier if not hang on till someone has the answer

haha great answer, my girlfriend doesn't touch my hd2 or she gets alot more than a double dose with the tazer method, HD2 is not the solution for a women... you take the hd2 of her and buy her a iphone surly they are women material.
Ignore Post
Problems almost always occur after a few weeks or months of use for me, just reflash the ROM, and you'll good to go.
removing the battery is not recommended, it can corrupt files on the sd-card. Try to boot without sd-card and see if it helps. If your ROM does boot, it means the SD card is corrupted, you can try to backup the SD card and restore it after completely wiping the sd-card.
If your rom doesn't boot, than it meant there's something else going on, maybe corrupted flash, so reflash and try again. This will delete all your data, so be careful
if your girlfriend is not an daily flasher also might i suggest using a daf build. All the configuration is done for you. if you are using a sd build from magldr than make sure you change the name of the build than edit the startup txt like this "rel_path=whatever you name the build(example: "rel_path=MIUIROM nand_boot=1") the 1 for magldr 0 for windows 6.5. the reason for me saying this is all android builds create a folder android when they boot up with all your info like data and cache is in there. So its best to separate the two just in case you want to boot up more than two builds from sd.
Same here.
could be a bad block in your NAND memory. you can check this with cLK and fastboot.
see this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13600733&postcount=9
i checked mine and there was a bad block in the userdata. i think that is wy my phone was freezing.
now i have flashed cLK and untill now its working great!
Hi
So I've tried several things the past days and nothing seem to work properly.
I found several threads with same topic, however this is really random crashing.
My EU HD2 is pretty much unusable:
- Sometimes it won't boot, just vibrates constantly 5 times or so
- Loads into MAGLDR, but gets FATAL HIT when attempting to boot.
- Crashes randomly when used, either android or wp7.
I first experienced these issued with NAND android, using skinks clean desire v1.2
Then i reformatted, using task29, installed MAGLDR again, and then wp7 nodo (stable). But the issues kept on going, and now I'm not really sure if it boots. The battery pins look okay to me, and i have tried several different batteries.
Anyone experienced this before, is it gone or is it possible to fix?
all help greatly appreciated!!

I think you should stop pointing random problems on bad blocks.
I understand that these are the symptoms observed by people with high number of bad blocks, but i'm running sense 3 roms with 8 bad blocks and no problem/random freeze/reboots till now.
Also, this guy is not running android/WP7 which are believed to be unable to manage bad blocks (assuming as he posts in HD2 General).
most probably hardware problem. i've had bad experience about this too. send it for warranty at the end
Whatever WP7 ROM I try, my phone just hangs on the splash screen. It used to be fine a while ago until I tried flashing langs wp7.5 ROM...
can anyone please help?!
i'm not saying it's the exact issue, but what class is your SD card? Mine also did the same except when i tried flashing back to WP7 from Android and it killed the SD card completely.

I've done it over and over. Even went out and bought a new 4gb class 4 sd card to test. Same result. This really makes no sense!!
try flashing the rom withOUT your sd in ... yet brand new or not WP just doesnt work with some cards regardless of class, brand, etc.
Solution

What rom u using? yuki one or hd20 dft one? if yuki, i also encounter this freeze screen problem but dft one, worked smooth and stable, nvr see freeze screen anymore, try this if u are using yuki rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=953078
When I flashed Yuki BTTF ROM I had the same issue. Had to remove SD Card until final update. Without the SD Card, update to 7392, and then reinert the card. Hard reset phone from settings, and then update the rest of the way. By following this process, my updates worked perfectly.
