is 2.2 wildfire update intersting ??

Hello
I have HTC Wildfire 2.1
i saw 2.2 update to ay and i am asking what will be new ?
do you advice me do update to it ?
what is root and what will it help me ?
note : i am not instrested in installing roms
thanks
The official 2.2 doesn't bring about any improvements apart from the following 2 features:
* Wi-Fi Hotspot
* Froyo Apps2SD
There is absolutely no performance increase. Rather, many users in the Wildfire General Section have reported lag issues and performance slowdowns after getting the official update. So, unless you absolutely want the 2 features you gain, there's no point really updating.
That apart, installing Custom ROM's is just one aspect of rooting. Other aspects include running root only apps, overclocking / underclocking your phone, theming your phone etc. If you are not interested in any of these, you can safely install the 2.2 update, if you so desire.
thank you
is root only apps many ? are they intresting ?
Root apps are very useful, you can change lcd density, and like what was previously said, overclock your phone which I see as a necessity on a wildfire due to the low performance cpu. So in other words, if you are happy with your phone and dont want to customise or improve it, then upgrade, if not, don't upgrade and root, then choose a rom (CM7 is my favourite at the moment) and enjoy.
Hope this helps.
And the browser has the v8 engine and there are push notifications. There is no jit or flash 10.1

[Q] Is it possible to add CyanogenMod6 to NexusHD2-Froyo v1.9G

Since the NexusHD2 is almost stock, is it possible to add CM6 to it via their update zip? If possible, any modifications needed? I like lot of their features compared to stock froyo
I still have the original HD2ONE 1.3 Nand version installed but its really outdated. Its time for an upgrade but I'm not ready for gingerbread yet. I know theres the CleanDroid rom but doesn't seem stable compared to the NexusHD2 plus theres no official ClockWork rom.
Any help appreciated.

kernel 2.6.32.9 [email protected]_lation #3
dunoo if its maybe an app, but i have watchdog and there are no apps misbehaving :/
first of all i think your both in the wrong thread lol, wont get noticed much in this section.......... but anyway
Are you using 2.2 or 2.2.1 ?? there are alot of fixes in the 2.2.1 and is a lot quicker for a stock ROM.
if you wanted even more speed you could go for a custom ROM there is loads to chose from.... but it can get a bit technical so if your unsure DONT DO IT !!!
There are a few things to consider:
- as stated above, you should make sure you get the latest, because 2.2.1 should be available (even officially) pretty much everywhere
- after flashing a factory reset is recommended to get the best performance (do a backup before so you can restore anything)
- there are better kernels out there that can speed up things and make your experience smoother (speedmod, voodoo, tegrak, etc)
- there are custom roms out there that are junk free and should provide a richer better experience.
Hi,
I know my question may be weired to some of experience people out here.
but i am really confused
What is difference between linux kernal update and flashing rom.
how to update kernel on my samsung galaxy s (I9000 2.2 default by samsung)
Thanks
Kernels and ROMs go hand it hand, it pointless getting a custom ROM and keeping stock Kernel. or vice versa
if you look it the development section and look for kernels (speedmod, Voodoo ect) there is a detailed step by step guide to installing them, and what benefits they have... it will make more sense for you to read through it all, than it would for us to try break it down into simple terms

[Q] Froydvillain 1.7 or CyanogenMod 6.1 ?

Hi !
I know FroydVillain is based on CyanogenMod.
What differences ? Is this better ? More or less stable ? More or less fast ?..
I'd like some users experience to do my choice

Darky 9.5 EE still the best ROM for SGS

I've gone through a ton of roms and Darkys 9.5 is the fastest and easiest to use
The only problem is I cant find a Kernel that allows me to overclock more than the stock 1Ghz using this rom.
Can anyone help?
On MIUI or Cyagenmod I got it to run at 1.5 or 1.6Ghz no problems and it makes a HUGE difference to the usability of the phone.
Basically need a Froyo kernel that allows over-clocking and preferably vodooo sound and color.

Nice. Thanks. I will do a backup and try it tomorrow.
Only goes up to 1.3GHz and doesn't seem to support voodoo color or sound from what i can tell thought.
Any info on what state the file systems (aka lagfix) need to be before flashing to this kernel?
