Sense like bookmarks widget - Desire Themes and Apps

Searched the market and online for one of these.
Running Oxygen atm and would like a 4x3 or 4x4 widget to display the bookmarks like Sense did, possibly a mail one too? From what I've read the mail one is a bit of a sticking point due to the way that HTC handles the mail.
Bookmarks one would be great though, anyone found something decent?
Tried the Dolphin one and its pretty dire to be honest.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

the only thing that's any good I've found is launcher pro plus, that gives you the widget but means you have to have launcher pro instead of stock launcher (which isn't a bad thing btw)

Im using Zeam at the min which I prefer to the stock one and launcher pro cos of the small icons in the dock
bit of a shame really if theres nothing
wonder if anyone on here fancies making one?!
cheers for the reply

launcher2 mod help

Hey peoples...need some help, hope ya'll don't mind I want to use the launchermod found here
http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/...cher2-quick-shortcuts-10-03-10-nexus-one.html
It won't work on 2.2 :-( I'm running the stock beta and it says instal failed everytime :-( I even root explored it into /sysem/app and no joy. Has anyone found a workaround?
Also, and this is the biggie, id like to mod it and enable scrollable widgets. I'm stuck using launcherpro, which is great, but I find this one to be more lightweight, and has all the functions I use in launcherpro except for scrollable widgets. Help?? The git is posted (hail gpl!) But its hebrew to me :-(
idk why but when i posted this it automatically appeared at the end and kicked to the second page...does this warrant a bump?
Download one of the 2.2 roms... they come with launcher pro, launcher 2 and tw3...

[Q] touchflo3d on Milestone

Hey guys!
I was wondering if someone made touchflo3d work on android especially milestone ?
The thing is, i put like all home replacements on my stone like launcher, adw, regina3d, zune, golauncher(best in my opinion). But go launcher uses 20mb, gosms 10mb (i ve got 20mb left using with some widgets) so compared to touchflo they are all... lets say ok.
I know that home replacements are highly costumizeable and i managed to have all my 100 apps available now with one click or swipe+click with mixture of golauncher and AppManager, which i will describe in another thread soon.
But before i switched to android, i was using wm phones and always had touchflo working, the launcher dock with the swipe may be the best ever invented, so it would really be a step back, not to use at least something similar.
Is there something similar in the market or a rom maybe ?
Have you tried zeam launcher?

Zeam seems to be the smallest one as I can see.
Used Zeam now, seems to be very fast and nice.
i will test it for some days

Launcher Pro Plus... Anyone using it on Tab 10.1?

Title says it all... Is anyone using LPP on their Gal Tab 10.1? Hows it working out for you?
I did it worked great. I used it with beautiful widgets and better cut.
had it working but goes into f/c all the time so took it out.
i've used it on the xoom with no probs. have it running on a transformer and on the gt10.1 and haven't had any fc's. works great to me.
Didn't try launcher pro, but in using adw launcher ex since someone on this forum mentioned it this morning.
Hate to admit, I didn't even bother looking into it before since I didn't think they would support honeycomb. Soooo much faster than stock.. stock honeycomb needs to be this quick flying through home screens or I'm never going back.
Anyone else use ADW? Major differences vs launcher pro in honeycomb? I've used all of the launchers on my phones before.

Have yet to try either, but am thinking about going with launcher pro... Going to give it a shot on my Infuse as well.
Mankoorb: Are you using the larger weather widget? Im currently using tha one, but cannot get the background to actually be transparent...
Lp Is awesome on mine

I can't wait for the tablet version of SPB Shell 3d.
How do we use these other launchers without removingthe HC notification bar at the bottom?

I actually had to select opaque to get the background removed on some, while others didnt remove at all, just gotta trail and error with it.

I saw the same post and thought I would try it.
I searched "adw launcher ex" on the market and got some 500+ hits?!?
There has got to be an easier way to find apps on market???

I entered the same search string. There are a lot of matches, but "ADWLauncher EX" from AnderWeb was the very first one in the list, which is what you are looking for.
What I like about the Honeycomb launcher is how it keeps the icon spacing perfect regardless of which orientation the tablet is in. The Android 2.x based launchers mess up the spacing when you rotate the screen.
Are there any launchers that do a similar job with the icon spacing that the Honeycomb launcher does?

with LP you can adjust the spacing on the grid, and find the spacing that you like best.

Used LPP on the Xoom and now GT.
I changed the number of rows and columns to max (10 I think) and the spacing seems to stay correct in either orientation.
Also seems to get rid of all the lag with HC which I never noticed before due to going straight to LPP out of the box. Tried HC launcher on the GT for a couple of days but the lag was driving nuts! Just wish I could keep the larger icons.

I'm using ADW Launcher EX now (as of yesterday -- like you, learned from reading it on here).
It really is faster, smoother, better animations, etc. and you can have your vertical apps back! I never liked horizontal scroll for apps.
The ONLY downside, and it may be placebo, is that I think the stock widgets (bookmarks, gmail, calendar, etc.) scroll more slowly, but that is really the only downside that I can see -- at least those widgets work!
All in all, I'm now a proponent of aftermarket launchers for Honeycomb, which I never thought I would be.
Tried it and chnaged back, i didnt like the way the app draw looked. i prefured the stock set up....still think it needs more work. but on my phone thats all i rock!
ADW EX got auto-installed when I first set up the tab (it's what I use on my Evo so was in my stuff on market), and after messing with the stock launcher for a while I tried it, haven't looked back. Easier to get the look I want, plus seems quite a bit faster.

For those comging from HTC and missing Sense widgets

Hi all, having recently come to the Galaxy S3 from many years of using HTC devices (HTC HD2, HTC Desire S, HTC Sensation), I realised I really missed 1 or 2 widgets which were useful to me. These included Friendstream and Calender/agenda.
Reading around a bit, I discovered 'Android Pro Widgets' in the google play store... these are awesome alternative scrollable widgets which are an excellent alternative to the above.
Finally, for those who havnt tried it, Apex launcer works briliantly in the S3 - feels much slicker to me than Touchwiz and has the added bonus of having scrollable wallpaper! (Intall Quick pic from play store if you want to use scrollable wallpaper to install the wallpaper otherwise gallery forces you to crop your selected image messing up the desired scroll effect.)
Hope someone finds this of use, a 'Thanks' would be appreciated if so.
Cheers
Thanks for the Heads up Missed the scrollable people widget badly, glad I got a version of it back on my Galaxy S III.
I will give them a go , thanks
I've been using these on my Desire as I'd switched to an AOSP rom. They work great with one exception. The bookmarks widget always misses the last bookmarked site off. I have to create a dummy site to get it to show. Could you confirm if this happens on the S3?

You can get a modded touchwiz launcher that allows for wallpaper scrolling and also has alternative home sizes if you want it.
Search for it, quite easily

Coming From HTC

Hi,
i am waiting for my nexus 4 to be shipped soon, but i am currently not sure how i will like jelly bean without any theme,
i have been using htc's sense on my sensation for quite a a while, about 19 months and the main things i like are the widgets, the contacts and phone theme and the messages app theme,
my questions is that is there a custom rom that is similar to the htc's sense or is the standard google rom ok ?
just worried as i may miss my sensation too much.
thanks in advance.

thanks for this
my ship time was like 6-7 weeks, its been about 2 and half so far
i just cant wait any more!
I went Sensation => One X => Nexus 4
I have to say though, I always preferred AOSP to Sense, so I'm not in the same boat as you. The only thing I vaguely miss is the weather clock widget, but I replaced it with something else.
I'm also coming from sensation.
Had HTC for the past few years just because of sense.
But after getting this phone, I will never look back again. You can find the things you need on play store to replace those HTC widgets.
AOSP is a whole other experience. Better than you imagine when used to a HTC phone.
In my opinion, I can't stand manufacturer UIs and would rather have the stock theme any day.
Use Beautiful Widgets if you want a HTC like clock weather widget.

note: BW is on sale right now so get it before it goes back to full price! definitely worth it.
Coming from a few HTC phones(look at sig).
This thing is blazing fast compared to my Sensation, it's like when I went from my g1 to mytouch 3gs, but with a larger gap. This thing is worth every penny if you ask me. The design, speed, and price are unbeatable.
I use to be crazy about Sense also but after awhile you get use to the much nicer stock JB UI and its widgets.
coming from mytouch4g. definitely prefer HTC widgets over stock widgets but i prefer AOSP performance over HTC widgets
Always owned mostly HTC phones (HTC Magic, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Amaze) only cuz I really liked Sense, especially the widgets. Had an Sony Ericsson Arc for a while, which made me realize how much I actually liked Sense.
Using the N4 now, I've found replacements for most of the HTC widgets, except I really miss the monthly calendar widget where I can see the whole month.
Using Jorte as an alternative but it's not as pretty as the HTC sense widget. Also miss the stock widget, but that's not as important as the calendar IMHO.
i mis the contact book from HTC, other stuff you can fine tune for yourself.
Nothing is better than stock.
Love my Nexus 4.......except for camera....One X camera is great!

I have exactly the same problem.
So far haven't seen a month widget that could match the looks and usability of he htc calendar widget. Would love to know if there is one that could match it?
I have SPB mobile shell 3d and HD widgets.
SPB runs and looks real good on the Nexus 4 so in terms of widgets, and looks I substitute most things I used in sensation, with those 2.
The only thing I miss and can't find decent substitute for is the contacts app, and WiFi calling.
Note: WiFi calling was a T-Mobile specific thing.

i really miss my One S picture frame widget .. i used to have a collage of hoes now i gotta swipe one by one to see them it's kind of depressing. . and the evernote widget sense used was awesome how you could flip through the notes . . i think sense just looked prettier but i'm happy with the N4 =)
Sooo many people miss things from sense
I think we need to pay a developer to port sense onto nexus 4
That would be awesome.
I think I will need to find a few alternatives .
Thanks to everyone

No sense port will be happening I don't think mainly because usually people get Nexus to experience stock android. But if you want widgets like sense, you can try some contacts widgets from play store

HTC Sensation as well. Best thing I ever did was flash Virtuous Inquisition. AOSP style but still Sense framework so everything works as it should.
Only thing about AOSP is the dispute between Google and Facebook over who owns contact information. As a result, in stock form, Facebook contact numbers don't sync. Considering I relied on Facebook for 90% of my contact numbers originally......
But using Google Voice now for SMS, my primary contacts are all with Google as well now.
Not sure what it is about HTC Sense that's a big deal.
