We just pushed out an update that should decrease battery consumption dramatically, along with a couple other small fixes.
Thank you to our beta testers that helped us quantify the improvements.
Let me know what you guys think!

Cool! I will give it a shot!

A large portion of the battery drain issue has been taken care of. I'm not at 100% usage. However, over the past hour it has shown a pretty large partial wake usage in Spare Parts.

battery was the only issue if fixed you got a winner!!
Dmitry, thanks for the info! Just updated a few minutes ago. Are there any release notes with this update?

Just tried over wifi... Worked great... Uninstalled Qik... lol... i had my brother and sister install it on their moments (did I just say moments??!?!?! I meant epics), and they were on 3g when i called them... Video quality was great. Now about to try mine on 3g. Great work. Can't wait til this is not a beta
edit: My phone isn't 100% awake anymore with this.
Even the updated version ate battery too much to be acceptable for me.
Blew through the battery in about 6 hours with pretty light use.
Hopefully it gets worked on.
I'm changing roms and will try it again soon after I finish customizing everything on my end.

Ditto. It will sleep sometimes but it will still do partial wakes even with the screen off. Its almost as if the app is trying to communicate with an outside source even when not in use. I unistalled it and phone sleeps 100%. Shame, it's a great program but it's terrible on battery life.
im not seeing any improvement at all, my 3000mah battery dropped to 70% in 25min, im going to try a fresh install of tango and see if that helps but as far as i can see, the phone says its still awake, just looked at permissions, why does it need gps? anyways just reinstalled, going to see how battery holds up
-alright its been about a half hour and the battery seems to be holding up, listening to music, running hotspot, and tango is running in background waiting for calls, before when i only updated, i didnt have music running, didnt have hotspot, phone was idle but reinstalling seems to have helped
Eh mixed views, not sure yet...
Outstanding app, however I do have to agree with the others as far as the battery is concerned. You guys have nailed the UI and video aspect though. Great job on updating the community too. Big thumbs up!

LOOL am sorry was sleeping, yes my battery was full but that because I took that screenshot after I plugged my phone and charged from 1 to 100 straight but the previous cycle stats was still ther..
Try it yourself, charge your phone and before taking it off the charger you will still have thae last cycle details and graph in usage..
And if you look at the screenshot, it clearly says "Battery used by the display and backlight" .....

How do you get your Android OS to be so low. My note is always around 25% to 30%. Do you think I have something running that's draining my battery? I do know that I'm not getting anywhere near the battery life you guys are saying you are getting.

he could have disabled all animations, force-closed processes, etc.
I have bluetooth running eight hours a day, streaming music for four to five of those to it, at least three to four hours of reading massive PDFs (textbooks), ppts, and word documents, WIFI on whenever available, etc.
I've gotten 10-13 hours without too many issues. The 10 was with a LOT of screen time, wifi or data running always, and bluetooth running always.
It also depends how you charge your battery. I make sure to fully charge my battery, and then run it into the GROUND (eg note powers off completely) before I plug it back in. Every time. You get maximum capacity that way, there's a name for this, but I can't remember what.
Anyway, battery 101. Kill processes, disable unneccesary services, use WIFI when you have it, disable everything you don't need, disable sync if you want/need to, disable gps, animations, and especially use minimal screentime. I don't see why the note wouldn't pull at least 36 hours if it was left in airplane mode the whole time.
Actually I was just watching movies and listening through bluetooth, thats why I don't have other processes eating my battery but I didn't do anything special..just straight 6 hours of watching movies using mobo player..
But I noticed that using mobile data to surf the net would drain my battery faster, so try to use wifi whenever available..
Everything about my setup is stock, only de-odexed to manually install my language..
Also noticed that when my phone left idleing, there will be Android OS drain in my battery usage, wigh "suspend" and "events0" showing in BetterBatteryStats but I still didn't figure out how to solve that..

Or do I have terrible battery life? It's really bugging me because I always have to charge it overnight and occasionally twice a day! I'm on CM10.1 and using KK's Next kernel. Airplane mode is always on and I only turn on WiFi when I surf. The brightness is always below a quarter. Most of the time it's at ~5% brightness. Is this normal?

Terrible battery life indeed. We have a P-3100 with SIM card inserted, use data on 3.5G+/HSPA+ browsing for most of the screen on time, 65% brightness, 4-5Hour screen on time and I get around 4-5hours.

Yeah, I managed to squeeze out around 15 hours on my Mini (around 14 hours screen on), on Wifi browsing 10~, 2~ hours on Pdfs, 2 hour video, 1 hour music with screen off.
Brightness @ 55-60%? not entirly sure but somewhere around there.
That again, its fully data on Wifi and not 3G.
The Mini does seem to use RAM a lot more efficiently, It does run a like 2 task in the background and pauses the rest doesn't jerk up (99% jerk free).
Tab runs a huge ton of apps in the background without pausing intensive ups, it uses up RAM fairly heavily and jerks up a bit. I find myself constantly tapping on the multi-task menu killing background task dispite having 1GB<-Thats a touchwiz ROM btw haven't tried AOSP on that.
Besides that, Ti OMAP 4430 vs Apple A5 2nd Gen
Both Cortex A9 Dual Cores running at 1Ghz, Ti uses 45nm while the second gen uses 32nm (More power efficientcy)
Both have PowerVRs, Ti has a Single Core PowerVR SGX540 @ 304MHz Vs A5's Dual Core PowerVR SGX543MP2 @ 250Mhz/core
Overall, I believe it has more to do with Android's base. It is written on Java as a pose to C+ like iOS. Java needs its codes to be emulated on a virtual machine while iOS runs it nativly.
If Android can be coded in C+, It will take away CPU cycles and we could see a drynamic improvement in battery life, speed, literacy and closer CPU and GPU integration.

Do you suggest that it is better to keep plug the charger even though already full.
Is there a Charge and Discharge Counter or something like that, just like a notebook, that would shortened the battery lifetime?
In that case, it is okay then to let it charge over the night, right?
The one your describing is called charge-cycle. Every battery has one. Its better to fully drain your battery once in awhile so the cell on your battery wont solidify. Do it maybe monthly. On notebooks we can remove the battery, and use it plugged-in so it would not wear-out the battery fast. Plugging your device while the battery is still installed is different from no battery and plugged-in at all.

It's very detailed.
Check if your phone goes into deep sleep.
I agree with above poster and if you been around xda enough you know there is a laundry list of stuff to try and no one can tell you why your battery life got worst. But there are apps that can help you and worst comes to worst just factory reset and start over.
I figured I'd get the party started and hopefully I'm not the only one in the room. I was #2 today at the 5th Ave store to pick it up, most of the people waiting in line were bloggers who just took pictures and left.
Here are a bunch of pictures I've taken to try to help get a better idea of what the watch looks like. I'm currently on the road for work but I'll be able to answer more questions and maybe do an APK pull for y'all.

I picked one up in Tokyo a couple of days ago. So far I'm not massively impressed.

I'm hoping it settles down once I've had it a while.

I found switching WiFi off helped loads. If your watch has a connection to your phone it can use the Internet from there. So it makes the WiFi redundant and just draining battery looking for a connection. I'll only switch WiFi back on if I ever forget my phone.
Also I had the brightness set to 1. Even in bright light it's never been a problem.
hey, would you please tell me what does it say under Settings->about->model?
a picture would be ideal, but don't forget to hide your serial number if you post it
