It's been fix several builds ago. MMS video with sound now works.

I think pretty much everything works now with the latest cm7 builds. Of course, there are going to be several more bugs fixed that you may or may not ever run across.

I have flashed cm7 nightlies every night from build #7, it might be working but it is not working on my Incredible...the MMS is received but video won't play and the sound won't play either, usually a qcp file... this has been my only issue on every build, any help is greatly appreciated, thank you

How have you been installing the nightly builds? Just flashing over? Clearing Dalvik and cache? Full wipe? If you've just been flashing over try clearing Dalvik and the cache. If that fails then do a nandroid backup and full wipe and reflash.

Agreed, it is really amazing

I'm looking forward to trying this ROM, but I'm loving my device right now while running Virtuous w/ Lou's #9 kernel. Everything works, is fast and very stable. Maybe after I get back from vacation next week the CM7 team will have most of the kinks worked out. Can't wait!

There aren't any kinks, that's the point
They're very close to a RC

I noticed with build 19 that notification beeps now come out as BEEPSQUAKPPP really loud and distorted (sorry for the bad sound effect impression). Is anyone else having this problem? Specifically I noticed it when connecting to BT Speakerphone and SMS inbound.

i started flashing these around #10. really great build so far. i may switch to CM7 as a daily once the final is released.

Yes, they are close, but the reason they aren't there yet is because there are still a few kinks. They're calling it RC0 right now, but I'm not sure what to think of that. The following definition is from Wikipedia:
"The term release candidate (RC) refers to a version with potential to be a final product, ready to release unless fatal bugs emerge. In this stage of product stabilization, all product features have been designed, coded and tested through one or more beta cycles with no known showstopper-class bug."
CM7 skipped right over Beta. It went straight from Alpha to RC0. Maybe the thinking is, with so many people flashing the nightly builds that suffices as Beta testing.

According to their post, it is still Alpha. Not Beta, Not RC. It is Alpha.
So, will RC1 == beta??? I don't know, but at this point, I would say technically yes because they are still putting in new features every few days. That, by defination, is alpha. Beta would be testing and fixing, testing and fixing. RC would be they think it is done, lets do one more full-on test. If a problem is found, fix and increment RC. If none found, release as final version.
Also, at this point, there is no bugtracker for CM7. That would indicate alpha, where bugs upcoming features are still internal to the devs. Usually, during beta, public bugtracking is provided to get everything working on a broad scale and to accept additional feature requests.

Battery life
I am really liking the nightly builds as well.
I am on build #20 now and everything seems to be working just fine.
Except the battery life. My battery only last ~8 hours now. Looks like it is just being killed by the display. The display used 70% of the battery with an uptime of 2 hours.
I may have to switch back to another ROM if I can't get better battery life that 8 hours.

I'm on CM7 #19 - Anyone notice that the Pinch to Zoom in the browser is not re-sizing the text wraparound properly. Takes like 3 or 4 attempts to get it right.
Is it just me or are others seeing this as well?

im on 22 with the beta kernel and this thing rocks, should be an rc imo as it is, I havent had issues since the first omgb and evervolvs, never had a prob with crackflashers or nightlies. I have even gone back to other roms, they never make it thru the day on my phone. CM7 is THE ROM!

#24. Wow!

Hard to believe these aren't listed as RC1, running very smooth!

You're better off just staying on the latest build, and not using the nightly or weekly builds. These are not considered 'stable, daily driver' builds, and are aimed at the more experienced user who doesn't shudder at the thought of soft-bricking, or losing data.

How does the FP work in your build? I've heard mixed reviews about it.
I got the nightly build and my browser is crashing sometimes.
Is the stable one (no nightly ) the weekly build?
If yes why does it say that the fingerprintscanner is not working or is it not updatet yet?
I've had no problem with any of the nightlies I've run. Also no need to wipe when switching between cm7 builds. I haven't wiped since the first pre-beta.

The thread "No Nightly Ba2tf" is the current stable and there is a thread for weekly builds courtesy of the atrix-dev-team in the development section. Nightlys are on the get.cm download site.
I normally run nightlys with limited problems and haven't tried a weekly yet but was thinking about it. Most people just stick with the stable builds from the first thread I mentioned

Works great for me, better than blur!! Its more responsive, you can swipe upside down (imagine holing the phone sideways and just swiping your left index finger the "wrong" way and being able to unlock), And it works as a trackball. Very cool.
I flashed today the weekly build and wanted to try the FP somehow the phone turned off and the motorola logo was showing after turning on.
It was really weird, so i flashed the stable one and i still get browser forcecloses sometimes and that really annoys me.

Which ICS ROM to use

Which ics ROM is everyone one using and which one is better?

Ics passion v4. Its like wiping your ass with silk. Smooth as hell.
Yea, that's what I've been using. It's still a Beta, so, there's some kinks... but, it's the best ICS ROM for us at the moment.
Agreed. Not using it, as I'm waiting for the bugs to be ironed out. However I am watching that thread like a hawk. Waiting for the rom to exit the beta stages.

Passion v4 is good, still has some kinks but only because its still in Beta. I use it as my daily since i really dont do much except text, email, Plume, FC Scoremobile, and once in awhile YouTube.
No video camera or GPS
other than that its pretty awesome!
I'm using the i9000 version as a daily ROM, been pretty sweet. Same battery life if not better from gingerbread. Each version has its own little caveats though so beware.
Are 911 or the headphone media stop/start buttons working on any ICS roms?
Thanks.
Passion v4
I'm Using passion v4 and its pretty great so far. No GPS (for me at least) but that is to be expected. Only a couple of bugs left as far as I can tell. Give it a shot.

issues, WHAT issues?
Besides the normal battery life decrease from froyo roms that most people are used to- there aren't too many issues.
Major issues:
Video Recording does not work for any port yet (i9000etc.)
GPS does not work for us.
Lesser issues:
some apps may freeze up since they aren't ICS compatible yet.

I think you get defensive too quickly...
Greg was comparing early gingerbread to early ICS saying that ICS has had a less buggy start than GB did. Then he ASKED if there were issues.
So if anything I think you just agreed with him, in a very aggressive way.
Any way, thanks to this thread, I jumped on the Passion v4 wagon. I was contemplating waiting for v5 while doing homework but couldn't help myself. I have no regrets.
After restoring everything with Titanium it runs really smooth (something was going wrong in CM7, probably from all the crap I had installed). The battery life seems about the same as GB, but everything looks so much nicer.
I found a few apps that do not appreciate ICS as much as I do, but if they're no friends of ICS they are no friends of mine!
I just hope GPS is working before my trip in a few weeks (and from the sounds of it they will have it working in the next few days, if not tonight).
It is the only ICS rom I have tried so far, but whether everyone here was right or just my ignorance of what else is out there, I am still very happy with it.
I just have one question. How do you flash if by chance you've alraedy installed a different version of ICS? Because you cant mount it to send any data to it!

This is a very very smooth ROM. I'm coming from CM7 with Glitch v13 and as far as I can see, it's amazing! Will be using it as my dd for a good long time. Only complaint is there isn't as much customization as with CM7 but I just installed ADW launcher and that's good enough for me!
Recommended to any Vibrant user!
I tried I9000 port of ICS with working button mapping, gps,hw accel because it sounds most likely to go into the next CM type of build, while the others just seem like rom chefs working from someone else's source.
For me it was snappy as hell, literally from the moment I got it running it felt more smooth than any of the current gingerbread roms. I didn't keep it on long enough to comment on battery life, and unlike most of the people in the thread, I couldn't get gps working(nor did I try things like media buttons).. in the end I gave up on it because titanium backup wouldn't restore my apps. Not one. I was too lazy to troubleshoot it or install them all again one by one, and I wanted my daily driver/reliable 2.2 back.
But it gave me hope: if they have a working rom, this quick, that smooth, with so few definite problems- it will probably surpass any gingerbread version I have tried to date.
Hell, if I could have restored my titanium backup and the apps I truly use every day actually worked, I'd still be using it.

Edit: Maybe the reason you can't mount it is because you need modified USB drivers? Here are the Modified usb drivers just in case some computers dont detect the device that they have posted here
Otherwise..
Umm, you can't mount it? The ICS I tried didn't have a mounting problem.. but if your still able to flash, you could bluetooth the files you need over, use dropbox and download it, and there are probably a few other ways I could think of.. otherwise I'm not sure what is stopping you, I don't even know which ICS still can't mount.

When you say customization in CM7, are you just talking about theming? Unless there is a large part of customization I missed that CM7 offered, the theming in cm7 was far outweighed by what you could do in MIUI, besides the many features it offered that CM7 never even touched..
Oh the other note, I would also recommend any vibrant user to give ICS a try- it offers something unique and fresh, and I am quite happy with the beta experience it had.
ICS Passion v5. Other than GPS and video recording for now evrything works as it is supposed to. USB mounting is correct (no more MTP mount). It's smooth and fast. Camera even works in Panorama mode. It's no longer beta in my opinion, its a perfect daily driver. Best Rom ever on my Vibrant.

I have been running the unoffical CM9 by jmztaylor since the first release. Has been the best for my phone at least and very good battery life. You should just try them out and go with the one that your phone has the best results with.
gummy worms is still a valid ics rom but you are gonna be lacking hardware accelleration (hwa) and camera/camcorder can work but also is being reported broken sooo yeah
the lastest of aokp is known for being full of reboots (but as a side note i have only had 1 reboot so far but has some graphical glitches with menu's but nothing to knock it down any so again beware it could be different on your phone) but b33 has been the strongest /most stable but is lacking the camera fix but there is a zip you can flash with it.
jamie has an ics rom with hwa but doesnt have the customization tweaks that you find in aokp but i have had ZERO reboots in my experinces there is a camera fix used in aokp will most likely work for you here to since they are based off the same (correct me if im wrong please)
decks i have little experience with the latest builds so i'll leave someone else to input on that
same iwth cm9 but its been comin to the party a bit later but i hear its stable and on its way to being a good daily rom for most and i think the camera works but no camcorder/panoramic(again correct me if im wrong please i havent run this particular one so im pulling that from memory of reading thread)
I installed the Unofficial CM9 and I was all good until its start freezing and rebooting

Swipers MIUI ICS is amazingly stable.
You can't beat it
I've been using Deck's builds as daily drivers for a while now not quite as many features as AOKP or CM9, but quite stable on my handset. YMMV of course.
With ANY of the ICS ROMs you're looking at feature incomplete alpha or beta level builds. So "stable" is a relative term.
Dark light version 3.5 has been the most stable on my evo, plus its all themed out in black and white.

KWIQ ICS is working for me
ben.nesheim mentioned jamie's rom, that is KWIQ ICS. I was running AOKP all through April and was liking the progress. I think after they added the HWA it got unstable for me on my phone so I ventured out and tried KWIQ. It just worked on my phone giving me everything I needed. I recently added the patch for the camera and now the only two things I am missing are front camera (would like to try Skype again) and 4g. I would be happy enough with this setup if this is all I ever got. I now have Chrome browser and all my apps I care about. I am one happy camper.
And Jamie has commented that he is making progress on an update to be coming out as soon as he feels it is stable.
AOKP here for a few days now. Everything works very well except Hulu and Netflix (haven't tried Youtube yet) and once in a while the camera app stops/freezes for a minute.
Everything else is butter.
In addition to the original question, do any of them have fully functioning camera (front and back) and camcorder?
I tried qwik ICS and it was stupid stable but didn't have working camera.
AoKP, run it on every device I have eexcept the photon cuz that POS is a pain to flash sh!t to so its stock rooted, but I have aokp on my Evo4g, kindle fire, Epic Touch 4g and my dads gNote

aokp35 has been working great with the ics camera and will try camcorder in a bit

Now that you have been reccomended every ICS rom for the evo. Lol.
My oppinion: Download teamdirt's cm9 and AOKP Milestone 5. (Milestone 5 can be found on the aokp website) Try out both roms, starting with AOKP.
Reason: I work using my phone for GPS and, on average, 15 calls and 25 texts a day. This means that if I flash a rom, it gets the full daily driver test.
That being said, AOKP was smooth, fast, battery efficient, and even easier to use And navigate. My only problem was random hot reboots.
Cm9 was somewhat choppy at times, but comparable to AOKP. NO REBOOTS!
Final verdict: Decks Reloaded. Lol. I couldn't decide so I went back to Gingerbread.

I just leave CM7 for a stable CM9. Until that day I saty with CM7
everything working real smooth and pretty fast, battery seems to be vanishing, after first boot i was at 75%, after configuring things and settins and restoring user apps from jrummy's ultimate backup pro, i spent about an hour almost setting things up, i'm now down to 45%, odd but could be a number of different things, i'll try draining it to 0 and fully recharging to 100, as always, Cyanogenmod has a ton of features and customizations, thank you for all that helped develop this rom, I would rather have everything working on CM7 than jump to CM9 with bugs, so much less headaches sticking with what works, thank you

Would have been great if somebody builds a Miui from this stable release..

Holy Cow!!!

Up until this point I've been using the EOS Stable Release 2, more because I liked the idea of "stability" over bells & whistles. On a whim last night I installed the EOS Nightly 117 build and I can't believe how fast it is. Screamin' fast! Plus it seems very stable.
How often do you nightly folks update? Every day? Every few days? When a new feature is installed? So far I'd say it's worth the time to update every day. I'm sold.
I usually only update when I am really bored or when I see a feature I really want!
I also updated to JB and it is -like you said- crazy fast! I absolutely love it. Now let's hope the addition of extra features doesn't slow down the performance
Its wicked fast and super stable. Loving it. Having no problems except the usual android apps toothing problems, not playing nicely with jb, but only encountered 2 so far.

The nightlies are generally very stable, it's once in awhile you will encounter issues, but so far I haven't been getting any issues at all. On another note I believe when TeamEOS implement Linaro optimisations on JB, the XOOM will be blazing fast.
Unless there is major change or fix in the nightlies i dont flash..
But do have a question with 117. I cant seem to get Video chat in google talk to work. It just goes black screen and closes. The normal IM'ing works.. just cant video. Both from and rear camera seem to work with the camera app.
Any Ideas?

Re: nightlies...I flash them as soon as they come out...works for me.
You see a big change, in part because you're now on a whole new operating system (Jellybean) that has a number of fundamental improvements. TeamEOS will be applying all of their own improvements from here on in, so it's really worthwhile to stay on the bleeding edge with these nightly builds.
Also, flash #118 and the newest eos gapps for Jellybean: 7/13. Your issues should be resolved. If not, there may be something in the Moto propriatary binaries that will be released when the OTA comes out that can fix video chat.
Sweeeeeet jelly bean
Sent from my Xoom using xda app-developers app
The speed increase your seing in Nightly 117 is due to what Google calls "Project Butter" which is a key new feature of jelly Bean and increases performance and screen draws significantly.
As to how often do I flash a new nightly, I usually skip about 10-20 nightlies unless one comes out that is reported to have very few issues and good enough for a release candidate.
Other times I will go off that if a particular bug I have been having is showed to be fixed but it really makes little to no sense for anyone but someone acting as a beta tester (and even then) to flash every nightly that comes down the pipe.
First off if you want to help squash bugs you need to use the device a lot and put it through it's paces which you can'y do if most of your day is spent flashing the newest.
And remember you bought the device to use it not flash it (although some would say otherwise LOL)
If you follow the project it's pretty easy to find the happy medium and know when to flash.
Anyone on the 1.0, 2.0 or pre 117 Nightly should really consider updating and getting all that Jelly Bean and Buttery goodness!
Not to mention Google Now which is pretty damn cool!
And just a warning to anyone on V2.0 or pre-Nightly 96 you will need to flash a new radio as well. Read the direction carefully as on;y Rogue Touch recovery can flash the radio and you need to flash that first before the rom. There is also a new Gapps for jelly Bean as well so read the instruction carefully.
But I'm running the jelly bean now and it is far superior to the older stuff and they haven't even started tweaking it yet they are just creating their base!
