Hi.
I have Orange SPV M1000.
I have tried to get it bonded to a Logitech diNovo keyboard on my PC.
By trying to add it to Settings | Connections | Connections | Advanced | Select Networks | New (internet) | New | (a name : abc, a modem: bluetooth) Next | New... | My_PCs_Name | Next | Name: my_pcs_name |Finish
Then the pops 2 requesters up
1.) This bluetooth device supports Serial port profile, would you like to create a Bluetooth serial port for it? (My answer: both yes or no)
2.) This bluetooth device supports headset profile, would you like to set it as your bluetooth headset? (My answer : No)
I have tried this when Connections | Bluetooth | was set to both "Discoverable" and "On"
but apparantly to no avail.
What I would have liked to work was:
1.) bluetooth activesync
2.) browsing via bluetooth from my PC's connections
3.) filetransfer via bluetooth (might go under activesync)
But I seem unable to get it to work.
Does anyonw have some ideas for this.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards: Jacob Eskildsen / eskildsen
there is no one around here seems to know this
i have been trying to do the exact thing for a few days now, had no joy at all.
there is not even one person using this kind of connection? or just do bother to tell.
I can make PC side working. Internet Connection Sharing bit, and I can even PING my PC from XDAII.
can somebody here help. if you really did this yourself
activesync and internet through bt
I just got activesync and internet working through bt . But I'm not sure how I did it . I have no extra bt software on my phone. I have a usb BT dongle (MSI) and I paired both of the devices. In all the settings I made sure internet sharing was allowed, on the BT network. In activesync in options - rules Pass through is ticked with connection to internet.
On the XDA started activesync through bt and my computer accepted it, and started to sync, the internet then started to work. i think active sync needs to be on for internet to work.
I don't really know the precise instructions, wish I did because i've just lost the connection again, and it will most probably take me another hour to work it out. think this time I better write it down!!!
If you could sync via Bluetooth, then browsing and file transfer via Bluetooth are possible. I've been able to do all of them. Just make sure you choose the ActiveSync profile when you pair your Pocket PC with the Bluetooth device on your desktop PC. If the ActiveSync profile is not available, then choose the Serial Port profile. But afterwards, you would have to go to ActiveSync Connection Settings and manually select the serial port you created.
thanks for advice
I've been having problems, like many people. And I've did what they did. Downloaded bt tools and its working excellent : ). I'm writing this on my xda2, downstairs from my computer. I'm well chuffed. Thanks for your quick reply, it seems your using bt tools too.
Am I ever going to get the hang of this!! BT Activesync ???
I'm able to get Activesync and thus internet through BT, but if I stop bluetooth on my XDA2, and then turn it back on and try to sync, I get an error message, stating Port not available.
What going on? how do I make this port avaliable. I thought I could turn BT on and off without problems, is this not the case. Is my computer configured wrong?
Help!!
Replying to myself!!
OK my problem has been solved, I just turn the BT off and on on my computer.
But what I really want, is to be able to not have to change anysetting on my computer. I would like to be able to enter my house and connect to BT, and then turn it off if I want, and then back on, and then off, on ,off, on..... You get the gist, without have to go upstair to my computer each time.
Any ideas :?
Hi,
Take a look at the guides for bluetooth ActiveSync'ing....
HERE
Thanks
Thank you for that Darius, i'd seen that guide before but forgot where it was. It has helped me to get activesync going anyway. I have actually hard rebooted my XDA2 because my Jabra BT200 stopped working, actually the phone software also buggered up. would ring people but they coud not hear me. Think it may have been BT Tools  Which is a shame, I liked the desktop icons it gave.
At this moment in time I am in the process of restoring my data to my phone over BT, Just hope the BT200, will still work, because before it worked excellent a 100% of the time.
Ive read quite a few threads talking about changing the BT stack, for a more reliable one, but I'm worried about mucking the XDA2 up more.
My next worry is that I've ordered a BT GPS reciever, and I'm gonna try to get Tom Tom working with it, I'm sure I'm gonna have to read quite a few more posts to sort that out. I thought I was good on computers, I think I will have to rethink that altogether.
G'Day
I'm trying to set up 2 simultaneous serial port profile bluetooth connections on an XDA II to different devices.
I've tried using the default MS Bluetooth stack, with and without BTHTools, and also the Widcomm stack, but can't seem to get it working.
I'm connecting the XDA to a Brainboxes RS-232 to BT adapter, and a Connectland USB Bluetooth dongle.
I can get both adapters working separately (testing with terminal emulators on PC/XDA) and I can get 2 concurrent connections to the USB dongle (one in one out) but I can't seem to get the same happening with both the BT adapters.
Does anyone know a way of doing this, or a way of assigning different COM ports to each serial port profile associated with a separate device on the XDA (as I think this would help)??
Any help is appreciated,
Cheers.
Sammy,
Please checkout this thread for something called GpsGate :

Its designed to multiply the number of Com ports assigned to a BT connection. Not sure if this is what you are after but sounded to me somewhat close so I decided to reply. Hope it helps.

Hi Sammy,
Have you installed the relevant ROM updates that correct problems with the MS and Widcomm Bluetooth stack on the XDA II ? Did you pair and bond the devices before connecting ? I have been developing applications that use the bluetooth serial profile for sometime now and I recommend that you use the MS Bluetooth Stack. I ran into countless problems trying to develop application using the Widcomm bluetooth stack without using their Bluetooth SDK. If you trying to assign different port for your device its best to use the Windows Ce Remote Registry Editor tool because you can't change Serial Port profile Com port values from the Bluetooth Settings menu option. For example for the Widcomm stack the Outbound serial port settings are set in the registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\Applications\0001]
___________________________________________________________
Name Data
___________________________________________________________
(Default)
Name Bluetooth Serial Port
. .
. .
ComPortNumber 8
____________________________________________________________
This is the port that used by the device that initiates the connection.
Turn Off Blueetooth Stack and Backup your Registry first.
Check the settings for other Bluetooth Profiles from Registry Key value
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\Applications\0001]
to
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\Applications\0011]
Note all the Com port values that are assinged for profiles that need to use a port. i.e Dial-Up Networking, Fax etc
Change the value of the ComPortNumber to your desired value. You should assign a Com port value that is not in use. Exit from the Registry Edit tool and Turn the Bluetooth stack On. Go into the Bluetooth Settings and check to that the values you have assigned have taken effect. Viola, you can now use that port for communacting provided you are intiating the comms.
For incoming connections that are intiated from other Bluetooth devices the settings are found in Registry key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Widcomm\BTConfig\Services\0001]
Do the same as above.
Good Luck

Thanks for the link, unfortunately not quite what I need. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like GPSGate takes an incoming Serial Port Profile connection and sticks the data into either a 'virtual com port' (COM0) or multiple hardware COM ports. What I was after was actually a way of having 2 concurrent SPP connections (incoming/outgoing) to two separate bluetooth devices.
panashe:
Which ROM updates would I need to correct the stack problems?
I was using an older ROM (the original one) and couldn't get BT working at all, I've since flashed it with a newer ROM (not sure which one) and bluetooth seems to work fine now.
Yes, devices are both paired and bonded.
I was trying to use the MS BT stack but it's limited functionality turned me off. I also had a few problems with very high latency data (it would take a few seconds for a single char to be transmitted).
Thanks for the registry info. I'd actually had a bit of a play with most of those keys before and have tried again, but it seems that no matter what values I change the incoming COM port to, it always uses COM4 regardless.
Note all the Com port values that are assinged for profiles that need to use a port. i.e Dial-Up Networking, Fax etc

You can still only have a single outgoing COM port for the SPP profile though right?
So even if I can change the port settings for other profiles (My devices only support SPP, DUN LAN and FAX), I'd still be stuck with SPP on a single COM port wouldn't I?
Or can I somehow use another profile that uses a COM port as a pseudo-serial port profile??
Thanks for your help.
PS: Does anyone know how the device is chosen (when multiple SPP devices are paired/bonded) if you connect to a COM port to make an outgoing connection without first Connecting a particular device from Bluetooth Manager?
Does it just choose the last active device, or is it based on something else?
I have 2x HTC Universal's (Jasjar's to be precise) and 2x xv6700's that I'd like to pair, configure, and make work with the Delorme BT-20 (and Street Atlas USA Plus 2009) I purchased. As of right now I am having problems and I'm asking for help getting this done. I've never used a GPS on windows mobile before, so I'm not sure what info to offer up. Here's what I can think of that might be relevant:
Setup:
* I have successfully paired the BT-20 over bluetooth with 2 different laptops, both running xp-pro 32 bit.
* I have connected the BT-20 to 4 different laptops (the 2 above, plus two more) via USB, one of which has Vista Home Premium 32 bit and the other Windows 2000.
* I can connect over bluetooth with both of the JasJars to the PC I maintain my contacts on and sync with them. (so bluetooth works)
* I can connect over bluetooth with the xv6700x to the other bluetooth enabled laptop I use (for software downloads, and RemoteAmp use). (so bluetooth works)
Problems
* I can't confirm when and if the phone is connected to the GPS device. There is supposed to be LED feedback on the BT-20 when it is connected to a device over bluetooth (an LED that stays lit), which does indicate a connection on a laptop, but not on the WM devices I have tried.
* Initially I couldn't even get the device to pair to my Windows mobile devices. Today I was able to get it to pair to a JaJar with Tomal's most recent 6.1 build.
* Usually trying to pair the device was a game of cat and mouse, very similar to this:
"""I've tried every setup suggestion I’ve found on how to setup the “Earthmate BT-20 GPS” on my new Mogul. Anytime I enter a passcode of any kind I get the messagebox “Your device did not connect with Earthmate BT-20 GPS. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect.” The blue light has stops blinking and goes dark. Subsequent attempts fail until the BT-20 is rebooted.
With the No passcode it ends with the blue light OFF, but get message “Earthmate BT-20 GPS wants to connect with your device using Bluetooth. Do you want to add Earthmate BT-20 GPS to your device list?” I answer YES and it prompts again for the passcode, this time the “Next” is disabled until something is entered. I enter the 0000 code and it fails again with “Your device did not connect with Earthmate BT-20 GPS. The connection failed or the passcode is incorrect.” After clicking ok it seems to still be trying to connect (spinning color thingie) but lets me through to the “Serial Port” selection, which I select and click “Finish”. """"

* The Delorme software can see the virtual COM port that the windows GPS manager creates, but I get an immediate message saying that the phone cannot connect to the GPS.
* The Delorme software cannot see the hardware port that the GPS is assigned in the bluetooth management settings.
Misc notes
* There is an option to allow windows to middle manage the GPS connection. This sounds cool, and there are so few options, I imagine it should just work. The Delorme software can see the virtual COM port that this package creates, but I get an immediate message saying that the phone cannot connect to the GPS.
* I have tried to call Delorme Tech support. That was a monumental exercise in fail. The guy said that because I was able to connect over bluetooth to GPS device it was not bad and refused to send me a new one. And that is literally all he said. I take that back, he did say that there were no magic tricks to get it working, that it should just work. I did tell him that I tried 4 different phones.
* I have never used a GPS on a WM device, so its quite possible I'm making a n00b mistake. Please feel free to tell me if I am.
* I get the impression that this is so simple and its just supposed to work.
* I have re-installed it once after I configured the Windows GPS manager. That did not seem to affect the outcome of trying to connect to it.
* I was able to get the unit successfully connected over bluetooth only after removing the battery for about a minute or two. I found that trick online somewhere, and while it helped for the laptops, did not for the WM devices.

Status update
I contacted Delorme Tech support. Over the phone was useless, but when I emailed them, I was issued an advance replacement (the email guy was pretty helpful).
However, that does not appear to have fixed the problem(s). It seems that the problem is in the communication settings of the phone, or the setup of either the phone of the software, or the bluetooth connection itself. I still cannot make the Delorme software find the COM port that windows makes for the unit, but the software will find the virtual COM port the windows GPS manager makes.
Any ideas out there?
Hi guys,
for some reason i only get limited connectivity to network...yet i can connect to any other router, and any other phone can connect to my homehub!
any ideas?
thanks
I got the same issue with my Jabra halo headset
The phone connects to other phones but my bt headset not
I hope with an upcoming patch I can connect it like I did with my x10
my x10's only purpose now is mp3player / video player
Its a thompson product so it maybe need of a firmware update. Usually helps with most home hub or bebox problems.
Sent from my R800i using XDA App
I've got this problem too - but interestingly only on ICS, not gingerbread. Something to do with the way the Homehub parses the DHCP broadcast, I have problems with my MEPIS linux box which is wired to the network too. Even happens when using a bt homehub as a wireless bridge to a separate DHCP server...
But a firmware upgrade (if you have access to the box) usually sorts it. Usually.
Hi, as the title said, I’d like to know what app are you using to share your phone’s 3G connection with the TF101 using bluetooth.
I tried everything but none works. Pdanet, etc.
And every single app does only wifi theter, not bluetooth.
Simply, i don’t know what to install on my Galaxy S2; I’d buy anything if sure that it’d work.
Does your phone model not support wireless hotspot??
Just saw that it is a galaxy s2, which means it should support wireless hotspot..you should root your galaxy and flash a rom with wireless hotspot hack enabled, no app needed.
First you'll have to root your Galaxy SII, if you're not ready/able to do that you can't really use bluetooth for tethering (I haven't found one that works WITHOUT root)
Thanks guy, buy my galaxy s2 is rooted since the first day I got it, and by the way here where I live the wireless hotspot is not disabled, it works also without root.
I don’t want to make my phone become an Hotspot, because it waste a lot of battery. I’d like to share connection via bluetooth so I can keep it always on without enormous battery drains. Which one do you use, No_u?
Here's the steps I performed to use Bluetooth internet sharing with my Motorola Milestone 2. I learnt that from a friend who paired an Asus Slider with his iPhone, so I'm pretty sure Samsung Galaxy S2 will be able to support Bluetooth internet sharing without root..
One-time set up (configure Bluetooth pairing)
- Turn on Bluetooth on both devices
- On Galaxy S2 (or other smartphone which support Bluetooth internet sharing profile), activate "Discoverable" mode.
- On Asus TF101, (under Bluetooth settings menu ya?), search for the smartphone and select to pair.
Every time when you want to activate internet sharing via Bluetooth
- Turn on Bluetooth on both devices,
- On Asus tF101, under Bluetooth settings -> Paired devices, press on the smartphone to 'connect
Done! Enjoy internet via smartphone Bluetooth.

TF101 support Bluetooth Tether (use phone as modem) with bluetooth PAN profile.
When pair with a phone has bluetooth PAN profile (it has 1 more icon in device list, just like A2DP profile has a headphone icon), just click on it to connect.
Many phone have bluetooth DUN profile (Dial-up Networking) but just a few have bluetooth PAN profile (personal area networks). I bought a SonyEricsson Cedar J108i for this function
You have to search in user manual, phone wiki page, ... to know what Bluetooth profile is supported.
