Well,I have called Microsoft support in CROATIA ( tel. 0800 300 300 ) and they said that I CAN NOT GET activation code because HD2 is not supposed to run Windows 7,so it seems it is ILLEGAL operation to port Windows 7 on HD2.
In Microsoft support told me that activation code is on the battery of every Windows 7 device.(!?)
Any other ideas or solution ?
Just tell them that You have a HD7.

At a first, I told them I have HD7 and they told me that activation number is sticked under battery.Every Windows7 device has activation code on the battery or coveredge beneath.
So, I presume that there would be great to have some activation generator application.
I need it activated because I do have some ideas about Windows 7 theme development. So far, so good.
Ring them back and tell them you rang HTC looking for the activation code and they told you to ring Microsoft. If they say there should be an activation code on your battery, tell them there's none there. Tell them HTC said they can't issue you an activation code as this has to be done by Microsoft.
Another option is to email them asking for the code or try using Microsoft chat.
Good luck
Thank you.I will try through e-mail support. It is stupid situation indeed.it said :"It is not avaluable in my country".
I have developer tools installed and I am prepared and ready for developing Windows 7 UI,but that activation is a little bit frustrating.
UPDATE .
I give up from developing Windows 7 platform...Rolling back to developing WM6.5
Probaj opet i reci da ti je izlizan sticker i da si kupio kod nekog lika privatno...
Pravi se debil za tehniku..

does anybody knows anything about it? Where can I download Windows CE 2003? Thanks for any info or help.
you cant
it have to be specialy made for the devices
it's not free as a rule
unless o2, tmobile and ... deside to release it without cost
if they deside to not release it at all and leave xda1-2 with 2003
and only have "xda3" get SE then there really is no way
HI guys,
I just got my new HD2 and am loving it but i was wondering if i could some how transfere my co pilot licence from my iphone to my new hd2?
Dont really want to have to pay for it twice?
Any ideas?
Cheers
JK
Call or email Co-pilot, I saw on some random youtube review of the HD2 that they have someway of transferring licenses i think.
I had already bought and was using CoPilot on a different WinMo phone and was able to deactivate my old phone and then activate it on my HTC HD2.
If you go into the Licensing option you can deactivate your Copilot (Settings -> Show More Settings ->Licensing) and the you can activate your Copilot on your HTC HD2
I'm not sure if this works from iPhone to HTC, no harm trying as you can just reactivate it if not.

Zut alors! I sold my iPhone after wiping all the data of it and didn't think to write down any licensing code from it. I have already paid for the Iphone Copilot but just assumed that it was lost money and now my HD2 trial had just expired
The CoPilot website specifically states licenses cannot be transferred to or from an iPhone
CoPilot said:
You can move your CoPilot Live v8 license from a Windows Mobile or Android smartphone to another Windows Mobile or Android Smartphone. Simply deactivate your license by selecting Menu > Settings > Licensing. You can then re-install CoPilot Live on the different phone. Please note you cannot move a CoPilot Live v8 license from or to an iPhone.

Win7 is very compatible, even with old hardware, just install and run windows update or use a program like Driver Genius, You could also try a stripped down version if you have low ram on the lappy.
Either that or upgrade your hardware.

hello developers,
I have succesfully installed WP7 on my HD2, but Live isn't working.
I've heard to enable that function you need an activation key.
Were I live Windows won't give me an key, because the HD7 (on which the OS for my HD2 is based) is never introduced here...
Does anyone knowes how to get this key though?
Ask MicroSoft!!!
Call Microsoft and ask for activation code, say that your smartphone HD7
They finally did gave me a code, so it is kind a working right now...
I want to unlock this phone from Vodafone, the unlock services are asking for a MEP code.
They say its listed beind the battery (not keen t pull it apart), in a secret menu but instuctions relate to Blackberry OS device not Blackberry android or using MEP reader. I've tried the reader with no luck, the BB drivers are installed, the software looks old and I'm on Win 10 so may the issue?
Anyone know how to get the MEP code or reader working?
