Every time I get a new NAND build and try to unzipping it, it says that its an "Unknown compression method" I need some help! Thank you!
Use 7zip. Keep in mind you don't have to extract roms meant for cwm!
Ok the NAND I'm trying to unzip is MDJ's CyanogenMod 2.6 A2SD+ and it wont work. But when I use the 2.5 version the unzip works fine.
Again: use 7zip. If that still doesn't work, download the rom again because it's probably corrupt.
I downloaded it 5 times already and still nothing!
Then you probably still aren't using 7zip?
As StephanV said - USE 7zip!!!
There was recently a change to the compression algorithm they use, so all of a sudden you can't open zip files made with 7zip unless you use the most up-to-date version.
so download newest version of 7zip is all i need to do? trying to unzip eclipse....
Redownloaded 7zip.... No luck with eclipse.... Wth am I doing wrong here?

Does anyone know where I can find Duttys_Leo_Sense_2.5_5.21903.5.0.92_2.13_Radio_2.10.50.26_HG_V3 as a cab file?
Thank you
Philnz
First off, you can't get a rom file as a cab and secondly you'll find him at www.htcpedia.com
Thanks mate. I have tried the EZ zip but it wont work. Keeps saying it contains errors.

Thank you tickbyt

Nope, doesn't work. 7 Zip says unsupported compression method for radio. so does winzip.

Use the latest version of 7-zip and unzip the .zipx file that you download. Thats the only thing that needs to be unzipped.
Then run Custom_RUU while whone is in Activesync mode.
Thank you mate.

You will need a zip file. I believe you can only flash a zip file.
Run the exe file you have it might produce an zip, amongst other files.
BTW, where did you get the stock rom from?
Thanks,
i googled - RUU_Ace_HTC_WWE_1.32.405.6_Radio_12.28b.60.140e_26.03.02.26_M_release_155891_signed.exe
and managed to download from 4shared.com i think or another similar file download site.
do you know where i can get a zip version of the original stock rom that i can use from within the phone?
cheers
You run the exe from your PC with the phone hooked up via USB. There should be a guide on installing RUUs (stock ROMS) on this forum. Check it out.
Ok this pertains to the ROM builds for MAGLDRv1.13 with CMW. When i downloaded this rom >this ROM it came in as a .JAR file. Now where do I go from there? I have tried putting it inside the SD card through USB MassStg but nothing And I do apologize if this has been asked but I've been trying to fix this for the past 4 hours.

Hi,
not sure why it downloads as a .jar file, but try:
Rename the .jar file to have a .zip extension (if your download program does not recognize .jar files)
If its a MAGLDR install then extract file to folder on PC. Connect phone using USB and select USB flasher in MAGLDR options. Then for that particular rom then run the file called DAF.exe.
if you have a jar file, you must have clicked the wrong link. it will be (and ive just checked) a zip file.
i suspect you want this link
NDT MIUI GINGER V9.1_Multilang_MAGLDR-CWM
Hey Guys,
I've been trying to understand why in all the JellyBean ROM that I've encountered so far there is an error message: "unzip: zip flags 1 and 8 are not supported" when I try viewing the archive in Fedora 17, or even in BusyBox, natively on the phone itself.
The ZIPs install correctly from the Recovery.
I've tried extracting it with WinRAR on windows, but after re-packing the archive and installing the newly created ROM ZIP the phone hangs. I didn't change anything at all, only extracted the original ZIP ROM and repacked.
The ROM that I've used: http://tinyw.in/YMJG
If anybody could shed some light on this I'd be really greatful
Try 7zip instead of winRAR as 7zip retains the file structure (you should use 7zip for all Cwm editing imo). I'm able to extract, modify, repackage and flash miuiandroid releases using 7zip and windows 8 (win7 will work too). Let me know how you get on!
Edit: I know you said the zip installs okay but you may want to check the md5 just to be safe

Sorry if this is a re-post, but I'm trying to get this at all angles. This is a T-Mobile S4.
Here's exactly what I've done so far, and I've re-downloaded everything so I have fresh files and filenames/extensions just to clear any mucking up I did:
I downloaded this file from this thread as I understand this is the stock firmware necessary to use here.
I unzipped the file, and used 7-zip to extract the tar.md5 which also extracted a .dll.
The tar.md5 file is named: M919UVUAMDL_M919TMBAMDL_M919UVUAMDL_HOME_.tar.md5
I have installed Heimdall version 1.3.1 as the download site claims that version 1.3.2 broke compatability with many devices.
I downloaded the two .jar files which make up the Heimdall one-click.
If all of this is correct so far, I'm understanding that I need to now feed a tar.gz file to heimdall one-click, however, I don't have any files that end in .gz. Just the tar.md5, which the one-click does not accept.
The button on the one-click literally says, "Select a Heimdall tar.gz for one-click" - So I'm lost there. I've even tried renaming the tar.md5 to tar.gz.
I'm reading that the front-end GUI is what would be used to create a tar.gz, but it seems to require downloading the PIT file from your phone, and this is failing now, possible due to me having installed Kies and now having different kernel extensions that apparently need to be unloaded (no idea how to do that lol).
This is so complicated! Makes me want to go buy a cheap netbook lol
I havent looked at this much further, but I think you ought to try Heimdal 1.4. Please report back, I am a linux user as well.
