So earlier today I was in math class and the kid next to me has an iphone 4. he starts bragging about his retina display (LOL) and how his graphics are so far ahead of the Vibrants. This is my question: The iphone has games with amazing graphics--and as far as I know, there are zero games on the android market that are as smooth and crisp looking. I know my display is better and I want to be able to show him so he can stop bragging to everyone on campus about how he has the best phone available. So do you guys know of any games that will show off the Vibrants glorious screen?
The Dungeon Defenders: First Wave game is built on the Unreal engine, the same one that makes some of those cool games on there. That's probably your best bet.

yea i wanted to show him Avatar since it looks beyond AMAZING on the Vibrant but I have upgraded to 2.2 via kies so Avatar is not currently working on my phone.
I will take a look at all of these games and purchase a few of them. Thanks to all of you who have helped. Other suggestions will be appreciated as well!

i checked the market for lcd density changer and it says that it doesnt exist on the market. and what do you mean by "rotate your phone while on desktop"? Do you mean I should open an app that will rotate my phones orientation?

yes. downloaded last week from kies. i checked the 'About Phone' and it says 2.2 firmware and the build is froyo.uvka6. EDIT: I turned off auto rotation and then turned it back on. it now works. thanks for the help.

oh forgot to mention download launcher pro lol its a launcher easy on your battery and it makes your desktop rotate and u can put your custom icons on desktop which is nice if u like to make your phione flashy but im nit suggestin anything lol

I know it sucked I shot that on my wife samsung instinct M-800 now fastfoward to today I have a cell phone that's recording video at 720p cellphone's have come a long way lol.

Yeah now but how long did it take apple to figure that one out apple is always late enabling stuff but there so popular when they do get it people start claiming they invented it. Like watch when the new iphone drops people are going to swear that they started the video talk and i know i work all apple fanboys thats why i couldnt wait to get to work and pull out the EVO and watch there face drop
if you have a nice collection of wallpapers i highly sugggest Wallswitch its free in the market, and it just cycles the images from whatever folder you point it to and at what ever interval you say. I like it better that lwp, less battery drain as the backbround isnt constantly moving.
or you can always try the lwp called camerapaper, also free in the market. it sets your background to whatever the rear facing camera sees. this app worked better on my Hero though.

It isn't on marketplace...you were looking at a garbage app this isn't affiliated with this "eyesight".
It will be interesting to see what is implemented with it.
It would be nice to throw the Evo on a HDMI dock, load up a 720p movie and use hand-motions to pause/fast-forward/rewind/volume etc.

I gotta agree, Project Natal is changing the way you play games by not using the controller at all while this is pointless cause you could just swipe. With ther phones it'd make sense though.

Silent Hill? Of all games you want to replay Silent Hill? That game was too damn scary for me back than and I was maybe 16 or 17.
A friend of mine recently gave me his busted xbox 360 and it came with a few games as well as Silent Hill: Homecoming. I thought I could handle it now. Nope, I was wrong. I turned out all the lights and played on my 56in with 5.1 sound system in the living room. It was too damn scary for me again. I heard every little noise in front and behind me. 10 minutes into it I took it out and was done with that evil ass game.

that's the first game i tried .
and sadly, its hardly playable.. there is a white box that appears around the characters and sometimes they just disappear in the mist..
i'll upload a screencap and a list of games i have tried..
btw.. pm me if anyone has trouble finding a good site for the roms (although google still is your best friend for that )
edit: Screencaps added.
well, now that i tried it again.. the game isn't too unplayable.. I'll try finding a ripped rom.. maybe that works better.

ugh guys i ran into an issue i forgot about. if youre using the on screen keyboard, the nexus one multitouch screen is the issue. i was playing RE1 and i forgot that i had to hold the R+L button to use the weapon n sadly, we cant do that on our devices
**EDIT: FF7 seems to work fine. FF8 works fine except for the video at the very beginning of the game. i will test out MG Solid later on in the day**

Hahaha, that's the point. The sound of static was never the same afterward. I love love love this series (at least, up to SH3). It's probably going to be a lot less scary on a 3.7 in screen anyway.

DONT JUDGE ME!!!!......but Rugrats Search for Reptar works fine lol i was searching through roms and i saw this and loved it as a child so i wanted to give it a try for the hell of it n it brought back a lot of memories

RE runs good but the multitouch screen issue is a problem. if youre using a bluetooth control then it should work fine

Really cool feature that I had no Idea about, but some apps installed and then I kept getting a bunch of errors saying "insufficient memory" I guess I gotta do them one by one...
Thats pretty much it, Im satisfied but the screen tint is kinda leaving a bad taste in my mouth, the SuperLCD seemed more sharp and brighter then this and the whites were WHITE and the blacks werent too shabby either, dunno wtf is going on as the Screen on my old captivate was great and I loved it, this is eh...
Really hoping I didnt make the wrong choice here, the Xperia arc I had my eyes on and the only thing it didnt have was a FFC and I can live without it, beyond that I like the looks, bigger screen, lighter weight, on the arc better and sony unlocked the bootloader on their new devices so updates will come regardless, way better camera, I just dont know about this whole screen thing....

sensors problem. compass seems a bit off, and the best gps lock i've had is 10m error after about 60s. i stood outside and waited, no lock. resorted to downloading gps status and downloaded the additional gps data. this seems to be the only way it's locked on. compared to a desire, this is hella slow and crappy for gps.
camera quality, i think for a phone it's good enough. for the ffc, so it's vga, but at what resolution does skype mobile use? what's that? it's not working? oh well. i think vga is fine for video calls. anything else is just additional cost.
about to test with music and haven't put a sim in yet to test the phone.
i bought it for development, so i'm now going to start messing about with it, but the phone feels nice and zippy, but disappointed with the sensors (will be testing outside tomorrow) as i'm looking to do a lot of augmented reality dev.

if you're going to test sound, i highly recommend using netarchy's kernel (unsure if it works on a I9020A).. but basically put Voodoo Sound, it'll be highly worth it without question

no, i don't have a tint at all - i have a 9020. and no tint. i manually upgraded to 2.3.2 - too scared to update to 2.3.3 yet. i don't have a sim in it, so the ota wasn't registering.
in terms of sound quality, it blows away my ipod touch 1st gen, but then again most of my older cheaper mp3 players do so that in itself isn't saying much! the dynamic range sounds a lot better on this than what was on the desire too.
but still haven't taken the stickers on the phone off yet. need a case!

Not in xda development but you can do it in android market place but you'll learn eventually it's ok. I can't wait to see what app you'll work on. wait I know something about teaching other people how to develop a rom without rooting your phone nice yeeeeah

I wish I could do it without a root, I just cant seem to do the damn root, Im stuck on the drivers part....
i tried installing blast monkeys the other day but was unable to play it as it was ending unexpectedly every time i tried to load it. i was just wondering whether the density has any effect on apps/games running at all???
if not is there any way to get these to work on the wildfire?
Not really, and by reading about it, it seems some members experience more FC's when using density hacks.
Probably the Wildfire doesn't meet the game's minimum hardware requirements. (Just speculating, since I haven't heard about it)
thats a shame. i was hoping the zynga poker app would work as well, but of course being a game that uses flash and having a phone that doesn't support it...

zynga poker works for me, i'm on jokerdroid rom
Also i got another problem,same like the above, but it is for angrybirds 1.4, where the game loads into a screen showing only a quarter part of the splash screen of the game,so i tried to free up more ram, over clocked processor to 710 mhz, etc. Bt nothing helped, bt the game loads cool in sg mini with 600 mhz processor, so i tried every way,even changed the rom,just to find a way 2 make it work. And i had done it, load the game-stuck in quarter splash-sleep down the device by pressing power button-wake up again-viola,the game continues in fullscreen, played cool with native processor speed,
Now abot changing density, i changed it to 110, where original is 120,rebooted, now the screen images and contents are little small, the only app that force close is adobe reader ,so i reinstall it after wiping dalvic cache, but still problem remains, so i updated it from market,and the problem is solved,the another issue i have is with native htc clicker and htc ime,which i use more than android keyboard, it fills only about 80% of the screen, i am trying to make it fullscreen.
I am using cm7.0.3 stable, oc kernal,latest radio, about 40+ app,and a2ad script. All together itz cool.
