How much ram should i have with radio version 2.**.50.**? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi People.
I can't flash magldr.
Still i followed the procedure.
I flashed hspl2.08
radio version 2.15.50.14
can't install magldr, on reboot it hangs on htc splash screen.
I tryed different rom's, stock and original.
I tryed to run android from sd-card, it hangs on the message;
jumping to kernel
When i look at my device statistics i see;
ram 320 Mb
flash 512 Mb
rom? 206,13 Mb
I'm quite sure i don't have 576 ram, but how?
Little help please!

Q&A
This is not the right area for this. You should try going to the Q&A thread. This is for developers to post there builds and updates. You might want to also try the radio thread in the wm subforum best of luck.

You don't have am hd2 you have a pro 3, its got only 320mb ram and nothing built for the hd2 is going to run on it except winmo.. Sorry this has been covered a few times.. Just search for pro 3 in the hd2 sedition and you should find the info your looking for.. Unfortunately there is no support for your device. The memory map is completely different then hd2..

T-Mobile US 1024 LEO HD2, new to this.

Hello everyone, this is my fist post here on XDA. I just purchased a HD2 T-Mobile US 1024 version. Main reason I got it is because I have been lurking here in the XDA forums, and thought that these custom Roms, might very well make my HD2 a usable phone, because as it stands right now, with HTC Sense 2.5 UI its completely unbearable.
I am completely lost when navigating these forums though, I would really love some help.
I have been reading about some good things here, like Coreplayer and MaxSense, but I really have no idea how to get started.
I read some of the sticky threads, but all i can gather is that before getting started i head to install something called HardSPL, but after that I am at a loss.
some of my system info is
OS Version
5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87)
Manilla Version
2.5.20121412.1
ROM version
2.10.531.1
Radio Version
2.08.50.08_2
some one please help a noob out.
I just went into my Bootloader, and my SPL version is 2.0.08 I believe.
Here is where you can get HSPL
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
and here is a tutorial on flashing a rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=653614
you said you were interested in maxsense? look in the roms section for roms containing maxsense, here's one, i haven't tried it yet so you may want to read up on it and decide if it's right for you.

Perfect info for a noob like me thanks
Since it is a T-Mobile USA model (1024) please take extra care as a wrong ROM or Radio ROM can brick your phone. The chefs do state if their ROM (and any specific Radio ROM they suggest) is suitable for the TMOUS version of the HD2.
I've tried everything and I still keep ending up in the MAGLDR black screen with the title at the top, but the menu won't appear at all, just stays there with the title. I've read and read everywhere. I'm using HD2 1024 with the latest Radio ROM

You should go to the magldr thread for help with magldr. This thread has nothing to do with magldr. The op of this thread is asking about winmo roms.

whats the whole point?

whats the whole point of FLASH. i want to do that to my phone but what will it do to the phone. can someone explain to me about FLASH.
Are you talking about flashing a ROM? If so the point is to get the newest or most stable build of WinMo.
Go to the ROM section and start reading the stickies. If you have a T-Mob HD2 you will want to pay particular attention to what ROM you do flash. There are two versions of the HD2, the European version on the T-Mobile version. The T-Mob version has a full gig of internal memory and a 1 gig processor while the European version only has 512 of memory and a smaller processor. If you make the mistake of flashing the wrong ROM onto the wrong phone you have an expensive paper weight.
yeah im talking about flashing rom. does this help the phone on working fast?
yes it does.

Sorry to correct you, but the Tmous has also 576MB RAM instead of 1024MB RAM, the European version does have 448MB RAM default, but after flashing a Tmous radio the ram can be unlocked so i has also 576MB RAM. I think you are meaning ROM instead of RAM
For me it's the RAM / Random Access Memory that counts since it's the memory you need to use in operation in contrary to ROM / Read Only Memory which is only needed to store your OS/Bootloader etc.
And cpu wise they got the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8250B chipset/cpu running @ 1Ghz.
Ow and TS, if you are asking yourself what a FLASH is ? please don't try it if you got zero knowledge/understanding/informing yourself about flashing (be it pc,psp,hd2 etc.) that won't be such a good idea
Take a look at these threads:
Flashing a ROM (International HD2)
Flashing a ROM (TMOUS HD2)
Flashing a new Radio ROM
Complete HD2 guide for flashing (Video's included)
It's a lot to go over, but if you are going to flash your device I highly recommend you know what you are doing. A mistake can mean a very expensive paperweight.
To answer you question on the "whole point" thing..
There are several reasons one might want to flash their device.
I flashed hspl2 at first because I didn't like T-Mobil's lame pink pre-bootscreen. Then more recently I flashed a new Radio ROM.
Many (perhaps most) people flash "cooked" ROMs built by other members of xda (or themselves) which include their favorite apps, tweaks, themes, lockscreens, etc. already built into the ROM. Custom ROM's can also include updates to the Winmo OS.
Another reason is to change the Radio. The Radio ROM (not the FM radio) is the software that controls how your device handles data and phone connections.
Many people, including myself, flash a different Radio. Personally, I have found that my battery life, signal, and data connections have dramatically improved after doing this. You might also need to flash a new radio if you are going to try out the new(ish) android port.
Ya sorry for the mistakes. Thought for some reason the Euro version had a smaller proc as well. As for the RAM-ROM thing ya just wasn't thinking as I typed.
thanks for the information guys. i have alot of reading to do. so u guys recommand for me to flash after i read the information???

Well what ROM you want to flash solely depends on what your wants/needs are. I personally prefer a clean 6.5.5 build (finger friendly/start buttons on bottom) and my current ROM is Cloudy 1.5
You will first need to flash HSPL3 before attempting to flash anything else. This will protect you from bricking your phone from a bad flash and also enables you to flash your phone from SD Card instead of USB cable and PC etc.
Once you have chosen your rom just stick the nbh file (rename to LEOIMG.nbh) onto root of SD and boot into loader.
Read all the needed info before attempting anything.

any idea, how to do it, please?
how can it be that the HD2 you have, has only 320MB RAM ?????
I had this problem too, with stock rom and stock radio version
2.07.x.x.x(vodafone) and different android builds.
after I installed HSPL and radio Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2,
Android worked!

Worked for me as well! Thank you very much!!!
You're welcome!
This was my first (hopefully usefull) post on XDA
I don't think this has something to do with 320MB of ram, mine has more. And i didn't changed the startup file.

Without doubts it was very useful!
Yes, as for me, I can corfirm that "jumping to kernel" error has nothing to do with 320MB RAM. More likely it's caused by version of the radio.
For those getting this error, I folowed this thread (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732380) and successfully got Android working on HD2.
Maybe a moderator can change the subject to: (possible) solutions for "jumping to kernel" problems?
It costed me 2 weeks to find out it was the radio version in my case.
And i only found posts with comments as: change startup.txt etc etc.
We have a Pre-Released phone or HTC ProThree Prototype .. this kind of phone's has just 320 MB and Samsung Chipset.. and the error "jumping to kernel" it's because memoryMap of android rom it's created for normal phone's with 448/576 MB ..
"Prototypes devices are NOT supported by Android. Sorry.
Even if you able to run, it will be buggy and luggy.
There no plans to support prototypes devices (at least in my plans). Sorry. Cotulla" ..
I hate this phone X( .. ahh god
SRY FOR MY BAD ENGL !
I still have this problem, it stops "jumping to kernel" even I flashed Leo_Radio_2.12.50.02_2 version. I guess maybe the reason is my phone is pro.three pre-release verion. who can help me ????????????
I get this 'Jumping to kernel...' crap as well. I have the latest 2.12.50 radio as well, using a custom rom (Energy Cookie Aug. 28 build).
Even on a fresh Android install I have to try boot several times before I actually boot into Android.
Once booted into Android, I've read that removing the 'Cache' folder in your /Android/ folder does the trick, and does work for me most of the time.
If there's another solution, let us know...

[Q] Android on 512 mb ROM HD2

hi There!
this thread is about to install or run Android on non T-Mobile 512 mb ROM based HTC HD2.

Did you really try to install android on your internal memory?
If yes, please search for the next corner and shame on you..
your internal memory (the 512 mb) is called NAND. This won't be touched by Android (well...just take this for granted).
You'll install android on your SD card.
Good luck!
Hey hey i was not saying that to install on ROM, i was asking that how can i run android (froyo) on my HD2 which have 512mb ROM.
means i dont have t-mobile version.
Otherwise i know i should keep the files in micro SD card and then run it.
When i try to run on my HD2 screen fades out and nothings come back. i need to pull my battery out to restart my phone.

and don't come back untill you understand all of it!
ok, a hint: radio version must be 2.08 or higher. I suggest the 2.14, but you need to read the linked thread first.

it depends on each persons liking.. but since you're just starting to port to android.. i would recommend these combo, as i think both these works right out of the box as they say.. very fast build.. after you try these combination, you can explore with other builds.. but this would be a great start.. try it
VBNRom (Winmo ROM) i know you said you already have chucky ROM, but this one is light and gives me good compatibility..
NexusHD2 (Android) everything works.. BT, camera, internet (only RMNET) and very fast build..
I use chucky myself, and Darkstone's Desire Froyo. Everything works, and I havent noticed any slowdowns so far.
Its a genuine lovestory, really
Sent from my HTC HD2 (Running Android) using XDA App
all windows phone 7 htc phones have 512 mb rom , and i think wp7 consumes more space than android as it has allot of animations and eye candy items

[Q] New to roms

Hi everyone!,
Im fairly new to this whole romming thing and i am looking to switch my HD2 over to a android build but i honestly dont know where to start. ive gone through lots of threads and topics but im still feeling a bit lost. im looking for something reliable for daily use (like mms, web browsing) and using androin market.
can anyone give me some guidance on what to look for?
I found the easiest fire-and-forget option was a froyo sense NAND rom... You can try http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931126 if you want a reasonably stable rom for a 512mb HD2.
You will need to ensure you have the correct hspl (2.08 i think), radio (any xxx.50), and magldr (1.13 i think) installed before you can proceed.
Sometimes rom choice varies on if you have a 1024mb HD2 or a 512mb HD2.
p.s.
hspl: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611433
radio: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
magldr: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893618
I'Ve triEd many roms and every time I go back to hyperdroid gbx v12 the fastest I ever tried (too bad no FM radio)... u need to know that the only difference is in the recovery partition ...in general the sense Roms use 400 mb recovery and the non sense roms use 150 mb ...evey ROM installation is explained but if u dont know how too we can guide u ...
