Did you buy the card from ebay? If yes, find a tool called h2testw - it will tell you if you have a fake card.

Will try, i think its legit, got it in a trade and had the users data on it.In
I wanted to wipe it but can't.

Ahh!! Evo not reading 16gb MicroSD card??

I can't for the life of me get my Evo running CM7 to read my 16gb card. I formatted it in FAT32 and also partitioned it. I even copied all contents from my 4gb over to the 16gb and it's not even seeing it. What am I doing wrong??
Is your card being read when it is completely wiped (free of any content) ?
You can try formatting it in your phone. Are you sure the card is real?

When this happened to me I put my micro SD in a card reader formatted with windows to fat32 and then formatted again with phone and everything works well. Also Check your PM
My evo will -not- read cards formated on my computer. LOL, so i just format inside the phone and partition it with the recovery system.

That mostly happens if your Computer formats it in NTFS
Thanks for the help guys!
I was actually making a reply here and accidentally turned my computer off and totally forgot it.
Yes the card is real. I use it with a adapter and card reader on my computer. I have formatted it on my PC with FAT32 and also partitioned it since I had to.
It's not being read when fully wiped either.
I'll try what's stated above and report back. Thanks!!
Mine did this, and it was a dead card. I was able to put it in a card reader and get most of my data off. Most are lifetime warranty. Had to send mine in for a free replacement (Transcend 16GB card).

Beware 64gb sdxc

Not happy...
Today I tried my SanDisk 64gb sdxc card in my note 10.1... I've been using it in my 5.3" galaxy note for months. It mounted and read just fine in the Note 10.1, so I copied all the data off it, planning to use a 32gb card in my other note.
After I copied the data, I put the card back in the Note 10.1, and it said "blank card or unsupported file system"
To cut a long story short, the card is now corrupted and can't be formatted in either windows or the original Note.
So, if you're using this card in your original Note, DON'T put it in the 10.1!

Format it with FAT 32.
Ditto: format with FAT32, most SDXC cards are formatted ExFAT and that's not compatible with the Note 10.1. Use the tablet or a third party utility to format if you're a Windows user since Win7 wants to format using ExFat rather than FAT32 (Mac OS X can format large cards in FAT32). Drawbacks? FAT32 only supports individual file sizes up to 4 gigs per file.
I've tried formatting it, it's toasted. Windows disk manager says it's 30.6gb, but won't format it because it says it's write protected... Neither of my notes will format it, they both say it's blank, and when I try to format they say it's currently being checked... I even tried SD Formatter from www.sdcard.org, and it says the card is write protected...

this may sound kind of dumb, but if you use an SD card adaptor for your micro SD, did you check the lock slider on your SD hard? i was not able to format my microSD card on my note and was having the same issues with the write protect on my computer but i realized later on that my lock slider kept being pushed into the lock position whenever i slide my card into my reader. so, i unlocked it and carefully slid my card into my reader to make sure it doesn't lock. i formatted my card to fat32 on my computer using EASEUS Partition Master (http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm). it's easy to use and free. works great

I did the same, don't forget to set the cluster size to 32 for a 64gb card. Works great.

Yes, I've tried it in 2 different card readers. I just tried EASEUS Partition Master and it can't do anything with the card either, the system reports the card as 30.6MB unallocated.

I used the microSD to SD converter which came with my Sandisk and plug it directly into the notebook's SD slot.
I would say try another computer (or notebook).
After the latest update, the Note 10.1 reads and formats exfat SD chips just fine.
Ooooooo! THX just ordered one..

Ahhhhh, sorry, didn't know that ........ Hope You can save the card somehow .......
Good Luck
There have been a number of reports of broken 64gb cards that will only format to 30.6gb, check this http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2-international/550328-64gb-cards.htmldiscussion.
I think that 30.6gb is what you normally would get from a 32gb card.

I've had same problem with sdxc but after firmware update SD works ok.
i've not had a problem with my sandisk 64gb sdxc card
I tosted a mounth ago my first 64GB SDXC the same day because I was not aware of what I should use and do to make it compatible with most devices.
First of all, the card is SDXC with exFAT, for that you HAVE to use an adapter compatible for that card, like Mobilelite 3G.
I put that card in my old card reader and after try to copy into the card a file ISO of 6GB the card crashed.
After that the card was not recognized.
Second mistake, I used not appropriate Software to format the card, from CMD in W7, Gparted Live, to many other.
You HAVE to use specific tools like FAT32Format or MiniTool Partition because this tools are made to do not delete the "Protected Area" which is needed to let working the card.
so,
step 1; Open the Blister Package and put the card into compatible SDXC Card Reader.
step 2; Format with FAT32 Format.
After that the card will work fantastically with ANY device and no complain at all.
Now I got my second 64GB SDXC formatter in Fat32 and my OLD HTC Touch Diamond 2 see the card with full capacity of 60GB!
Amazing! Right?
If its a new card you should have a warranty get it replaced.
I had a similar proble with a 16 gb card on my optimux 2x and from Sandisk itself. When I inserted it recognized and then the card was fried fortunately it was replaced by the seller in couple of days I still have the old card as they did not bother to take it back.
That time i thought it was a fake

Ok, so in this case you can do this way;
step 1; Open the Blister Package and put the card into compatible SDXC Card Reader.
step 2; Use h2testw to test the card if it's fake.
step 3; when you know is good format with the right tool.
They do not bother you to take the card back? Strange? And the second one is good?

[Q] Galaxy S 4 SD card Woes!

Whats up forums!
So i finally got my GT-i9500 very happy with it so far, went and picked my self up a Transcend microSDHC CLASS 10 32GB card, Very good card and i got it at a decent price, Question is though...
[1]What File system should i format the card to?
I have tried formatting it to exFAT, popped it into my s 4 and it says damaged SD card please format, which returns it to generic hierarchical when going into properties of the card.
[2] Is exFAT the best file system for android or the galaxy s 4 in particular?
i did a bit of reading and cant find the downfall of exFAT besides the 2,7 million files in a directory limit 0.o (like im gonna fill that)
leave your comments below and any you guys can give is always appreciated!

[Q] Question about format the sd card as exFat

so I was looking at that new root post. and it request us to format the sd card to exFat.
so I was looking around in my house. and finally I found a sandisk 2GB micro sd. and I insert it to the phone, and format it. I thought it will ask me to format as exFat or something else. but it didn't. It just format by itself.
and I was thinking is there another way to format a sd card to exfat. or it is not possible for a 2G micro sd?

Formatting it through the phone wont work, at least i have yet to see it done. At least on newer Android devices that wont allow you to mount the card. Essentially, formatting it while its being accessed via MTP really only erases the card, it doesnt change the file system...i believe.

I put it into my phone. and connect it to my laptop. and I formatted it on the laptop. it doesn't work. so maybe I need to format it from the sd card reader or find a adapter?

yes, you need to put it in an adapter or find an older Android device that allows you to mount the SD card as storage. Those are the only methods i know that will work.
Did you set the usb debugging before you connected the phone to the computer?
easiest way just get the 64gb samsung class 10 card on Amazon--already exFat--not that expensive and works perfectly on everything I have flashed so far--
just a thought

MicroSD "Blank" - Galaxy Note 3
I am having the same issue, phone refuses to see my SD card. Has anyone figured out a work around for this, or is it most likely a hardware issue? Galaxy Note 3 (SM-N900V), non rooted.
Have tried multiple microSD's (SanDisk 32GB HC C4, Sandisk 32GB HC U1) that both read correctly on PC. Have tried reformatting with through Windows --> my computer --> format and with SDA SD formatter software (full format, not quick). Phone still will not recognize it.
Also tried connecting phone via USB with SD card inserted, it doesn't show up anywhere in the directory to try formatting it there (image attached). I do get the option to format what I am assuming is the entire phone, this seems like a poor decision.
I have dug around the forum, the majority of the fix's point towards reformatting via PC, does not seem to solve the issue for me. Any advice very much appreciated!! Really hoping it isn't going to require a new phone.
Thanks!
You could do a factory reset and see if that helps. If not, you might have a bad SD card slot.

Yep it was a bad SD card slot. Had Amazon send a replacement, read the card right away.
The problem was the phone it was a brand new phone I went to Verizon in they replace it with a new at the store
