I am looking for a specific LCD its a Type 3 wide flex LCD for an HTC evo 4g. I have scoured the internet looking for this specific type but can only find the "Narrow flex type 1" and "wide Flex type 2".
My plea to you guys is where can I find this LCD or anybody have one of these around?
I have this picture included to help explain what im looking for. ]
Any help would be very much appreciated.

what he said.i had my screen replaced a couple of weeks ago for $35 flat(no TEP).screen was brand new and i was in and out in 30 mins.
Had a screen replaced yesterday for free with TEP. They usually only keep the thin #1 in stock the tech told me so they will exchange your Evo or maybe order you one.
How did you tell if one was type two or type three? My screen was cracked and I believe it's a type two but I want to be sure.
Here's one for you:

Found this one too..

Also, the one you linked is a TYPE 1 not a type 2 or 3. The one I just posted is a type 3 but it has no pictures.

I am pretty sure that he didn't come on these forums to ask this specific question just to be told that he can take his phone to Sprint to get it fixed. Since he has it taken apart already and is looking for a specific lcd, I am assuming that he bought this phone outright as a parts phone or something similiar and is looking to fix it and it is not activated. If I am wrong, please feel free to bash me all you want. If I am right, I would try to contact a Sprint store to see if they will sell you lcd outright, I am guessing that they have the parts.
Edit: Also just looked at the date, he posted over a month ago.
Type #1 (thin) is made by AUO. Type #2 (thick) is made by Sharp. At least that's how we differentiate at Sprint. Sharp and AUO.

I would looooooooove one of those -- I'd gladly pay $50 for it
I Like the DEV Phones Glossy Keyboard, looks good on it. Although that does mean smudges out of this world lol. Have you looked into getting that design inscribed on the back of your cover?
Concerning back covers.
I have already ordered one from HTC to replace my grey one with a black one. Unfortunately they didnt have the white UK one. Why not order a replacement for 15 dollars and have it sent out and painted? I am sure it can't be more than 50 dollars when finished.

Finally? This was posted at least one week ago. They don't seem to answer my emails so I don't know what to think. I find the replacements very expensive as well specially the digitizer. Personally find it very hard to wreck the LCD without wrecking the digitizer, which in that case will be very expensive to replace, over 360$. And that's if you replace the parts yourself.
Oh well It's good someone has these replacements parts but the screen has been on Ebay for much less, still no sign of the digitizer.
Sorry my phone has been out of commission for a while and decided to check the other day for parts and ran up on them. Decided to post the links...Oh well. I bought my bro's broken g1 for 50 bucks and put his screen in mine. Not sure what is wrong with his goes straight to the recovery mode and some keys dont work.
No problem. Good you managed to open the internals of your device. I can't remove the housing from the back.
Is it hard to take the g1 apart and put it back together. I scratched the housing and was thinking bout getting a replacement and transferring everything. But im scared i might mess sumthing up.

Probably not difficult for someone who has opened a lot of phones. This is my first time.
That sounds like a ripoff to me. You can get a decent 22" LCD for that price.

It looks like they heard you. I just checked it out and the Window Lens Glass with Touch Screen Digitizer is now available by itself and it is much cheaper. Check it out http://www.cellulardr.com/G1Digitizer.htm

I got mine back from service and here in finland that touchscreen costs 300euros which is around 420$ so I think your's is cheap.
Use the search function and type in 'LCD screen', you should get previous queries on similar topic. Check out the accessories forum

that sounds reasonable. HTC Care here in Vietnam asked me for 4.6mil VND (about $255). so painful to spit out $255 for a screen replacement. maybe HTC will consider reducing the cost for the poor souls like us.
DIY
DIY, It is not that bad, it took some time and patience but I had to replace my screen as well. I can not remember how much I paid but I got an entire new case, tools (one was not the right size but only a couple bucks at home depot to get the right one), digi screen and screen cover for around $180 and changed it all out in about 4 hours. If you have the time and paitience give it a whorl.
You can do it by your self.
you buy what you need on ebay.com from hong kong LCD screen or touch screen.

Hi, as you can read in my signature i'm tearing apart my hd, I also have the whole front of the phone for sale, follow the link in my signature if you are still needing the screen.
bye, hope you can repair your HD
Hey guys,
My worse nightmare just became reality and I cracked the screen on my Nexus I'm using my old G1 but I know I can't stay with the downgrade for too long. I tried calling Assurion to get it replace but they said they see activity on the phone (since I'm using the G1) and can only send me a G1. Anyways I want to try and replace the screen on my own or find a cheap place that can replace it. My questions are 1) Does anyone know of a trusted place that replaces the screen? 2) How do you know what kits to purchase on eBay or anywhere else? There is a LCD w/ Digitizer option for $187 or The LCD Display for $127.
I cannot see anything on the phone it is pure black, there are no cracks I can feel, and when someone call I am able to slide down to answer. I just see the cracks below the glass. I just don't know what exactly is broken the LCD? Digitizer? I just always thought they were both on top of each other and if one breaks so does the other. Thanks.
Dude take it to a repair shop,3GS screen of my friend costed 100$
Fight with Asurion! That's some BS they're feeding you so they can avoid covering the cost of a N1. Of course there's activity on your line. They expect you to not use your line at all when you have a secondary phone available?

Yeah thats what I told them. I'm going to call again and get crazy on their a** hopefully they will replace it. All the places to fix it cost more than the 130 deductible with Asurion.
I've had my G2 for less than 24 hours. I put on the top of my car, just to open and close the back door for my kid! I closed the door, and the phone went flying. It cracked the top half of the screen only by a little bit, but the middle of the touch screen is unresponsive....
So, I found a replacement screen and digitizer for it. But I can't find any guides on taking the thing apart! Anytime I do a web search for the G2 it always brings up the G2x, which is an old crappy device from years ago. I couldn't even find an iFixit tear down... I thought they did everything!
Any ideas from anyone?
I have broke my digitizer as well, however LCD is still intact. I have not yet found any digitizers or lcd assemblies yet for this phone (D800). I did find some for the international versions D801, D802 but without taking the phone apart I'd be cautious with your purchase. When you do your web searches, type in -g2x . That will limit results for the g2x.

If you didn't already purchase the replacements this company sells it for 139.99 and offers free support, call them and maybe they send instructions with it or offer help over the phone. I once Fedexed a phone to a guy on Ebay and he fixed it for me and over nighted it back so you could ask about that too. Also maybe ask some local cell repair shops if you bring in the parts will they fix it for cheap, say 1 hour labor. If you can get the parts for 140.00 and offer a guy 50 or 60 to fix it then your still on par with what someone would pay for the insurance deductible on one of the major carriers.
Well this is the D802 I listed sorry but whoever you get the part from, good luck.

I'm so glad you guys mentioned the D800... I would have got the wrong one... I am fine replacing the screen myself, I have done it many times on other phones. Just would have liked to find a little tear down guide helping with the process...
thanks for the input though.
Does anyone know how to take apart the phone for repair, I too broke the lcd withing 2 weeks of purchase. I want to fix it myself but I have no idea how to take it apart. Thanks!

wow hope you can fix it. Can you post links here on how to?
AMAZING! THANKS! What about wireless charging?
That is excellent, thanks for the guide!
My next question, now that we know how to open it... I remember reading that the VZW G2 is the only one with the QI Wireless charging, because of the battery they use. If we can access the battery, think we can get a VZW battery and put it into the att, tmobile, sprint version?
That would be fantastic!
Guide?
Can you post the guide up on here by any chance?
I am not 100% sure this is legit with XDA... But here is a PDF guide for it... The file that was sent to me was too big.
Use it at your own risk.

Thanks I dont need it yet but you never know when you will.

This video is the how to on what you need to do in order to disassemble the G2 in order to remove the screen. There is a link provided for the reassembly in The video.
I was able to pick up a screen/digitizer/LCD from amazon for about 120. Make sure to pay attention to where it ships from. A lot of the sellers ship them from Asia and they take up to a month to come in. Mine came out of New York. Also the screen assemblies from OEM come with a kit with jeweler's screwdrivers and plastic pry devices in order to disassemble the phone or at least mine did.
Last in the video he uses a heat gun at some points. I did not need one throughout any of the process but may make it easier for you.
All in all I took me about an hour and a half to swap my screen out. Works like a charm.

Hi there. I just broke my digitizer, but the screen is fine. I read somewhere that you have to replace them both because they are glued together, do you know if this is true? I have a heat gun if that is needed to separate them. I would just like to purchase a digitizer only and replace that, to save about $60+.

yea plus my advice is from personal experience I had already tried it and ended up paying more since I had to buy the lcd plus digitizer
Not sure what the price would be to just replace screen/digitizer. the part would run about 30 bucks, just not sure what a repair shop would charge for labor. If its over 150 though i would opt the DIY method as it is simple to do if you get a screen/digitizer/lcd all in one. I did it for 120 and some change. Mine also came with a tool kit in order to dismanlte the phone.
hi friend, i have a LG VS980 Verizon, Is it the same part for vs980 and d80x? in my country im only able to get D80x version of screen and sellers are not sure if the parts are compatible, I have seen several videos and pictures of the online stores of spare parts, and at first glance are the same connectors.

I couldn't vouch for that. A good place to start though might be to compare specs of each phone, V980 to D80X, specifically the display properties. Not sure but there may be a good breakdown out there of what the specs are for each, not just a dimension and pixel count.

they are the same Verizon can change buttons and add stuff to back cover but they cannot change all of phone hardware/parts
