Sprint sph p100 stock kernel? - Galaxy Tab General

Right now im on bauxite kernel and before i did that i tried too backup the stock kernel but couldn't so i flashed anyways and everything was fine till a day ago that it keeps saying my sd card is write protected when i try too copy from my pc too ssd no matter what i do And it think its also a cdrom drive to..
So i figure it has too be something with the kernel and i cant find a stock sprint firmware anywhere,
So does anyone have there's that they backed up? Hopefully someone does so i could see if it fixes this sd problem

Wow nobuddy?

I only rooted my sprint tab.
Will that do for you?
Or does it means that it isn`t a stock fw anymore?
If you tell me how to get the fw off my tab I will upload it for you

That would've been great even with it rooted, But futuregerald just posted his couple hours ago in bauxite thread.
But thanks anyways!
You could use sgs kernel flasher which i highly recommend before you do anything with the kernel, But you could also download futuregerald kernel

What interferes with OTA updates?

So after receiving my replacement vibrant i've decided to simply root and use some of the apps i used to like. Assuming i don't end up breaking under pressure and flashing a ROM, will things such as morphs and changing system apps not allow an OTA to successfully flash and boot? I did apply a black bar mod with an accurate battery but other than that i've done nothing but app related activities that require root. So, say when the official 2.2 comes out, would i have to revert my framework to stock as well before accepting the update? Like I said, currently I remain on stock JI6 with the stock kernel.
I think you need to be completely stock, no mods, for an ota to take. If not you'll most likely brick
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
That's not true. You can have all kinds of mods. The only thing you need is touchwiz running during the ota time frame and you will get it.

For instance I was running jfd and jacs oc/uv kernel and a battery mod + a meta morph theme and no home replacement app and I got the update

yeah, but did it work? were your mods still there? i was told that having a different kernel will not allow the update to come through
My phone went to stock . Booted up with stock ji6 with ji6 kernel . I had to reroot even though my super user app was still there and reapply mods just like when you odin a stock rom . The only difference was my apps stayed in system/app and system/app-private and carried over with the update.

Hmm, I was just basing my comment on all the threads saying there were modded and ended up brickin...i havent even got the update yet so I dont know for sure

The ones that bricked were probably running voodo . That changes things... So if your running stock jfd and a voodo kernel your most likely to brick. But odin will save you.
O and you haven't recieved the ota yet?? That sucks. Why havent you used keys mini from samsung thats an official way to upgrade.
Sent from my vibrant
All I had at the time was root, clockwork rom, titanium backup and launcher pro and mine bricked (well soft bricked)...
Now, I'm running bionix 1.9.1 and loving it...hahahaha
Ive never used mini kies before, I wouldnt trust my old ass pc, I try not to use odin too much either

Cant put on DJ01....any ideas?

Hey guys i put on a ASOP rom for fascinate. Got stuck at samsung screen. Reverted back to stock via ODIN....all is fine but i cant get my phone to install DJ01 update.
Any ideas?
You'll need to be more specific about what you mean by DJ01. Do you mean Di01 or some other rom you shouldn't be posting on this forum about? Which AOSP rom do you mean? As far as I know there is no stable true AOSP release, so you must mean something else.
Swyped from a heavily modded i500.04 using XDA App
no i meant dio1...... ive been usin clockwork mod for roms. f'd up restored to stock via odin. now i cant get the verizon update.
Maybe try this?

Fixed it thanx. The problem was caused when going stock with Odin.

fixed it with the unsigned update, right?

Stock Rom files Unrooted?

If this has already been answered I apologize. I am looking for the stock files to flash in Odin for the Continuum in case of disaster. I am going to root my wifes phone to remove the bloatware and if there is one thing I learned with my fascinate is those files are priceless. Anyone know where I can get the stock files to start over is I need to?

We have some odin files, but they're untested. They are also rooted :-/
If we can get someone to test our DJ20 odin files, then I'm sure someone can figure out how to remove root from them.

I got a stock ROM and kernel from imnuts; would that be the same ones you have?
I flashed that stock ROM and kernel using ODIN on my continuum (which was previously bricked by too much tinkering), and everything works on the phone except for cell data (well, I haven't tested bluetooth on it). If you have different images, I'd be happy to try them out and let you know how it goes.
I also will probably try re-flashing them again just to see if it comes out differently.

That's where I got my images from I here someone may be working to get an official Odin package for you guys though
That's good, if it were my phone I would run some tests, but my wife has seen me brick my phone so many times she is scared to hand me her phone

Your best bet would be FREEZING your bloatware with Titanium backup PRO to see if you encounter any negative side-effects. If so all you have to do is unfreeze. I freeze apps I don't want and after a week (after backing up) I'll go ahead and fully uninstall them. One at a time, so if **** hits the fan, you know what to restore...

Bell unlocked GT-I9000M (Galaxy S) hung on startup screen

Dummy me, I was trying to root the KG3 (2.3.3) firmware and made a mistake and messed up my phone. Now it just hangs on the startup animation. I can still get into download mode, so my question is, how do I get it back up and running.
Directions with Odin (I presume) and a stock Bell KG3 firmware????
Any help would be appreciated.
Instructions and firmware are here

Found that just a few minutes ago, thanks. Phone is now up and running, albeit, I'm gonna need to remove some apps as they're FC'ing. Luckily I have a backup (not that recent, but it'll do) of my contacts.
Since I'm here, I wonder if I shouldn't just throw the latest and greatest on it. Hints???
You know your phone is pretty much an I9000 with an m on the end. If you want to use the latest JVU then go for it. It's as simple as using only the jvu pda file and using the 2.3.3 ugkg3 phone and csc files... Flash same way in odin. Then flash chainfire to get root.

This is what I'm using with kg3 modem and csc. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1391207. Rooted with semaphore kernel... Find it in development...I'm also using DMore rom but sadly it is unavailable now.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using xda premium
JVU is most recent this thread also has a link to a root kernel. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1431596

Thanks, I appreciate the guidance.
I managed to load JVZ on the phone successfully and have rooted it with the corresponding Semaphore.

I have the same phone. The build date was july 2011 as the screen on my first one (build date july 10) cracked completely.
With both phones, i've been doing custom roms on it since i received it back from bell in january 2011 (due to the froyo upgrade issue).
I would definitely suggest Team icssgs (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.03). Been running it now for 5 days and really really enjoying the phone more. But that's me .. i was using DarkyROM JVU previously and had freezes when i tried to use the video camera, and trying to view my contacts.
Good luck in your decision...

Can you direct me to the list of steps to get this on my phone????

is there a way to manually download el30- sprint?

OK, a long time ago, I did a manual update on my EPIC 4g (sprint). I am thinking that is why I am unable to download the update through the setting tab a week after the update came out. I know everyone has it now. I have no idea what update I did on my phone last year... but I havnt been able to get firmware updates from sprint since them. I'd kinda like to have this one.
Does anyone know of a link that has this update, I can load to my SD card and execute on the phone? I just want to be able to reboot to the new ROM, I dont want to have to hook up to a PC and load it that way. I need a rookie, easy way to do this.
Thanks!!!
You most likely have either rooted or removed at least 1 pre-installed application. That would cause the EL30 update not to install. You can find the .zip file in both the General and Development forums.
If you have rooted or removed any pre-installed apps, then the stock .zip file won't install for you. You would need to make sure you're on a custom kernel for your current build (most likely EC05 or EI22), get CWM 5 installed and then install one of the near stock roms in the Dev forum.
Yea, it was so long ago, I dont know if it is rooted or not? I have been away from this stuff for quite a while and have completely lost touch. CW5? is that an app that I can install directly from the SD card? Also, does the dev forum have ROM's that I can install from SD as well? - sorry for all the questions!

Yes... you would know it if you clicked on it. Just don't start a new thread there. Read, and it'll all make sense.

Go to your Settings > About Phone to see what your baseband, kernel and OS build are.
Yes the dev forum has kernels and roms available for you to flash. Google search "QBKing77 youtube channel" to get how-to videos for doing everything.
Baseband = your modem version. This is completely independent of your kernel and OS and can be a different version from those two.
Kernel & OS build = these must match in build #. Example would be EC05, EI22 and EL30. Some custom kernel's do not include the build # on the About Phone screen, but stock would.
CWM = ClockworkMod Recovery. This is a custom recovery tool that allows you to flash custom roms, kernels, mods and themes.
Easiest way to see if you're rooted is to look for the application Superuser in your application list. If it's there, then you're most likely rooted.
is there a way to unroot this handset and allow the sprint update to come thru? If not, what is the name of a good (stock) gingerbread ROM? There are a ton of them over on the dev side and honestly I dont want to mess with he clockwork stuff. Im kinda pinched for time.
I did find the CWM5 zip - i assume i can run that directly from the SD card, then apply the new ROM.
no superuser... know that I think back, I dont think I did root it. But I dont know why else the carrier update wont work?
ok, I just looked @ the current version(s).
BASEBAND: d700.0.55.DK28
KERNAL:2.6.32.9
BUILD: FROYO.DK28
so, what is going to be the easiest way to get this to EL30?
I am almost done bothering you guys - I promise!
Odining the el30 stock package and flashing an ec05 modem and then flashing the ec05 to el30 delta
Ill offer to do it for you in a little over 15 minutes if you'd like via teamviewer

The modem is if I want to tether - correct? If I dont want to tether, then I dont have to flash the modem portion ?
No the modem is what allows for reciveing signal
Usually the most updated modem allows for better signal
Serisouly don't wanna take me up on the offer? You could just sit back let me d it for you then again if your one of those DIY'S its not very hard if you know what your doing

Yes but these things can be backed up with mybackup from the market her settings not really but contacts sms call logs etc, can be backed up just make sure you don't use the stock cable that you have a good cable and the computer will recognise it
If you would like me to do it from her computer if she has one and her cable isn't stock then I could . Just pm if you need any help.

Another good idea is to google Qbking77 youtube videos. He has a video for just about everything you need to update your phone.
