Thanks for that, it was all the apps i downloaded before i activated it
all the market one's are ok, thanks again for the heads up.

I have searched the entire site and found no unlockit.xap. Could you please provide a link to it. I can use ChevronWP7 but it will only lock again. Thanks!

Can not re-unlock
Keep getting a message saying having trouble communicating with the phone.
-make sure it connected by USB
-please start the zune program
I have checked with zune and it is connected.
Have reinstalled the certificate
restarted the phone and computer.
Any ideas?

5 days ago i install wp7 and start trying to unlock phone with chevron. After many threads it work! but, unfortunetly, I accidentally re-lock it ;x After that, I try all solutions what I find at xda, nothing help me to run unlock correctly again ;x So, now im asking, im gonna hard reset my phone, and tell me what is the best to do that chevron will run without error ;P

- i have ms sdk
- have zune [not as guest]
- skype closed
- anti-virus and firewall off
- airplane mode [on & off trying]
- auto date off
- all .cer done
and as I say, error with connection is my nightmare ;x

Right,
Close Skype completly
Close Anti-Virus or just disable it
Put Chevron on Root of you partition C
Right Click it and Run as Admin
Check both boxes
Unlock it
If helped click thank button

Chevron didn't work for me until I changed both dates(phone + PC) to 10/1/11, and it worked, I take no credit just passing the info.

i think they removed the second thingy from their server... try to go to chevronwp7.com/cert and it goes 404... :S probably m$ took it down

Oh well, after hours of trying to unlock and hours to simply get any email account up and running again i finally reflashed magldr/wp7 (made task29 before).
It unlocked on the first try (again). It seems that windows phone reset doesnt really reset, does it? Because thats were the problems started for me...after the first reset. I didnt tried the magldr hardreset though.

That doesn't make a difference, you can install the cert manually by emailing it to yourself and opening the attachment.

okay finaly got it to work!!!
the problem is file that is missing on chevron's server. so what u need to do is follow "chevron isn't working and here's why" to edit hosts file on PC and install new certificate on phone. when ur done there, shut down computer, pull out internet cable (or turn off wifi before shutdown)
when you're back up, go to C: where your chevron should be and run as admin
works for me everytime now

are you OK with the computer/Laptop windows Registry Editor?
IF so then go HKEY Local Machine/Software/Microsoft/WindowsPhone/ProxyPorts/ now scroll down until you see DeviceReg.
Now does the data numbers look like this: 0x000069c5(27077)
If not then it will have to be changed, then you chevron should work.

I have it changed 5 days ago, when i first time trying to unlock my phone ;x
I think that my only chance is task29 and reflash ;x But which metod i should try after reflash ? ;p

Not sure what to change on the PC, not very clear to a noob like me

Hey, im able to run chevron. But then the process crashes. Did anyone experience this?

Dont think thats the case....I already have that registry key and chevron doesnt work. Worked fine a couple of hours back....

chevron is so annoying ;x there is no way to get my phone unlock ;x really , after so many days nothing! 2x task 29, many hard reset's and nothing! i love Wp7 but im forced to back android ;x ehhhh maybe soon there will be better way (100% work) to unlock phone ;x

Its working i tried a few times today. but it worked and i just did everything i was doing yesterday on my other phone.

i know it works, but i tried everything and still locked ;x plz, help me, im desperated ;x

Finally I Unlock my phone! I need to turn off "routing and RAS" ;D No only activation key can any one could help me ? i will be very greatfull ;D

live services activation (stupid noob question)

I have an activation key but do i need to do the whole chevron thing just to get live services or is that just to sideload non marketplace apps? Im trying to avoid having to install the developer kit because i dont have a spare 3gb!

Your best bet is to use a ROM with Chevron unlocked and then you don't need to install the developer kits or zune on your pc

Just flash a custom WP7 rom with chevron already cooked in, so you don't have to deal with chevron (alot of people report problems)
Then just open marketplace, it should ask for your live or hotmail account. Log in and a window will prompt you to input your activation key.
Voila!
You can also side load apps with Tom's XAP.

In order to see the marketplace you have to have your phone recognize it as a hd7,then use the code without the phone seeing itself as hd7 marketplace won't work, you won't be able to see it.

If I'm not mistaken, the custom/pre-unlocked WP7 ROMs that are out there already have the registry changes needed for the phone to identify itself as a HD7. Still, OP should check the release thread/post to make sure.

The new custom, Football and Moonlight roms have been giving me some problems, so i flashed the DFT ROM and everyhting is fine. Downloaded the Dev tools, install Chevron Cert, Run Chevron unlock, run TomXapInstaller, install the apps and copy/paste the file. Easy and no problems so far. No need for regedits if you have an Activation Key, which is easy to get in the UK. Follow this thread for easy use:

[Q] Win 7 activated - but can't download

Hi guys
I have searched the forum but cannot find anyone with a similar problem.
I have activated my Win 7 but still cannot download apps.
I get the following message when trying to install an app
"Can't get this information at the moment. Check again in a little while"
Any suggestions?

i tried to download from zune on the pc it says it cant be downloadet becaus of an temporary server problem
i daont think that somthing on my phon is wrong its a server prob by zune

yeah I am having the same problem, received my activation code today. I go on Zune and it lets me install ot, but I get it will install soon message and then it never does. Anyone, I am in the US and on t-mobile.

The wp7 ist correctly running, only the marketplace doesn't run...
I did an hard reset and the same happens...
When i want to install the programs with zune, zune say, that it is installed, but i can't find the program on my phone...
I have vodafone in germany...

Just downloaded and istalled the IMDb app. Downloaded and installed fine, but won't run. Loads up for about 4-5 seconds and then phone goes back to WP7 menu screen. Any ideas???

If you have JUST activated and it is saying this
have you applied the registry key to identify the device as a HD 7 ?(unless you have a ROM with this as standard)

There is coming the following message:
Access to the registry key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\DeviceReg is restricted.
What could I do?

For you guys having problems with Marketplace, just be sure you made de HD7 tweak (in Settings-About your device must appear as HTC HD7, not Leo70). After you enter the 25 digit code in Marketplace, get the Live ID.xap file (available on the forum) and edit the CustClear.provxml file in it with your code. Then deploy the LiveID.xap to device.
I'm not having any Problems with Marketplace apps.

Hello, i've installed WP7 on my HD2 and am currently on the 7720 Beta cleanup.
No problem so far, now...
I've installed several SDK's and packages, and cannot find for the love of god, "Application Deplyment". I must be missing something, and Chevron cannot connect, Tom's XAP tool also cannot connect.
Anyone care to give a tip ?
Update, after yet another reboot, Chevron started and said my phone was unlocked. So silly me, i locked it And now chevron won't unlock it

I had the same problem.
Firstly, don't forget that you must install the new SDK for Mango.
For me nothing enable me to deploy in exception of this one:
[17/10] W.I.N.C.O.'s mini SDK WP7 (4.21Mb instead of 1.4Gb)
Now, nothing runs properly except TomXAP1.2.
