Kernals for hardware 0003 - EVO 4G General

What kernals work with the htc evo with hardware 0003 with out those weird lines
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G using XDA App

I like ziggy kernals.

Does it work on hardware 0003?
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G

Sorry for the delay, had to take care of the family dinner
It absolutely works on hw v3 (my evo is 3) and its all I use. It works sense and aosp (Froyo, not gingerbread) and you have your choice of CFS or BFS with or without HAVS. See http://www.ziggy471.com/ for the kernals.

Thank u for all the help
Sent from my HTC EVO 4G

I have used Netarchy 4.2.1 through 4.3.2 and they all worked fine. I also have used a couple of Ziggys (BFS) and they worked well too. Currently running MikFroyo 4.5 beta III and Ziggy's latest BFS and working perfectly.
My phone seems like like BFS better but I feel like it depends on the ROM, not sure, could all be in my head. Either way, I would try a few and see what works best for you, every phone will react differently.
Hope that helped.

Mine used to work great with bfs, but myn 5 or ziggy latest kernal, not sure which, is now working best with cfs.

I have 003 hardware and i've used everything from savage both sbc and non, and also the zendroid ones are nice to, sometimes i have better look on BFS but it really just depends on the rom and build to be honest. I even had snap 7.5 on the latest MIUI .1.21.2

The Daily Driver list

I've not really found a daily driver list for roms thus far.
What have you found to be worthy of the title daily driver?
I've been here since jl5. I mean like old school vibrant.
I've gone through alot of roms. At least with variations.
Many.
Today my top Rom choice would be Ginger Clone R2 by eugene.
I've tried gingerbread. Ported by whitehawx.
Till he and his team stabilize 2.3 ,
R2 to me is the best daily driver.
You need to update the modem.
In fact I myself run it with ka7.
Ka7 seems to get the best reception in my area.
If your new or seasoned and missed the opportunity to download R2.
Find eugene. Find his sight. Find R2.
I remember a certain beta called 2.2.1. By einherjar team. Amazing, stable rom.
Yes they have more out and its up to you to test those.
All roms have problems. All standard software does.
So Im just giving a starting point.
Anyone else?

My daily driver is Eugene's Ginger Clone R2 with "Dead Horse" Kernel. The fastest and most stable ROM/Kernel I have used.

I've been quite happy running Frost update 2 with Dragon v5. Snappy and smooth for me. I haven't been brave enough to try 2.3, going to wait for a fully stable release on that one.
Bionix Frost
Dragon Kernel v5 Test4
Bionix 1.3 w/ voodoo injected stock froyo kernel here. Nothing about it that keeps it from being a daily for me. Unless you're looking for 2.2.1 or higher, you didn't really say.

Darkyys rom with overstock kernel is fantastic for me.
Darkys rom vibrant edition, smoothest I've used. It comes with voodoo kernel disabled and is fast either way.

See below.. it's the daily driver for all 6 of our vibrants in the office!
An older but very stable rom, I use Axura as my DD. Its snappy and no bugs i can think of plus alot of very specific themes just for Axura on the Dev's website.
Trigger 1.7 w/Dead Horse kernel for me. I try the others but keep coming back to Trigger.
I too am using Darky's for Vibrant. Runs real smooth and works well with the FFC mod.
Bionix 1.3.1 with Overstock 1.4...best battery life, most stable, and fastest ROM I've ever used. Avoid the Dead Horse, ULF is buggy.

Powered by my Triggerized Vibrant
Bionix 1.3.1 w/stock kernel. Best battery life for heavy usage to me. I use battery up fast and found this to be very stable, fast, and mantain a good battery life.
Running trigger v2.7.1 with overstock v1.4 and its perfect but im going to try cm7 >

Been said already, but bionix v 1.3.1 using overstock 1.4. Awesome rom no issues.

What ROM are you using right now?

What are you using, and your thoughts on the ROM itself...
Currently on MIUI v1.3.25 with Android Version 2.3.3. By far the best ROM ive used for android in a while.
cm7 Tons of features and I haven't noticed any bugs yet.
Using V2 fast mexdroid. Its the best rom out there. Try it out

I'm using last miui 1.4.15(android 2.3.3) and I'm really satisfied with it. Good speed, perfect performance, no lags after full customization for my everyday use.
I also use the same rom on my htc hd2.

Virtuous 2.0.2 using the advanced kernel overclocked at 1.3GHz. I love sense!
If you like stock look try xboarder56 my rom v1.9

Yes, try this ROM! In my opinion the best ROM without Sense. Fast, simple and so far no bugs with my Desire Z....
Thanks xboarder56
Using cm7 nightlies. Has not been a new one in about five days I'm getting real bored with it. Ultimate droid is the fastest and most stable out of any rom available. Its a shame this forum does not support it. Anyone interested in obtaining this rom just pm me it rocks. Its based on cm7 final and retains all the function of cm7 and adds a WHOLE lot more. Way less lag than cm7 also.

Me too, but the Ganii edition which is a little bit updated with more features. By far the best ROM out there with no problems l!
I was a hardcore cm7 fan, now converted to gani's latest miui bread. It just works....so....good. and its dead sexy...

i'm actually using xboarder56's stock gingerbread rom. it works flawlessly and the battery life is great. plus with a custom theme on it, its just drop dead sexy
eViL's G2-4G, port of the MT4G rom.. to me its the best SENSE out there.
Ultimate droid 3.3.0
Best Rom I have run yet, coming from a loyal cm6, got bored waiting for cm7 bugs to get worked out. Love the work, I just couldn't take it anymore.
Ultimate droid like above said, is based on compiling a collection of the most popular features and is based on cm7.
Rock solid, fast, and never been happier.
My two cents

Cm7 nightly 51, with gingerbread kernal from rom manager. Latest radio. And clocked to min: 768 max:998. On domand battery life fixed threw set cpu tweaks went from 5 hours of battery life to 24 hours of battery liife. Still testing tweaks.

update for ud 3.3.0
after using superwipeG2+ and reflashing the ud 3.3.0 I ran into a weird spont power shut off on occasion. I reflashed the rom again, and now any of the few bugs that I had prior are resolved! I highly reccomend anyone having glitch's try this method.
superwipeG2+ then flash, then restore all with titanium backup, then reflash without any wipes.
This has made me so happy! I have a fully modded phone now with no problems for the first time in months!!!
meXdroidMod meXperia V2, loving this, very fast overclocked at 1.5GHz.
So far on this G2, I had enomthers The Official, CM 6.1.1 and now meXdroidMod
G2 meXdroidMod meXperia V2, OC'd 1.5GHz
Is there a sticky with all the places to download these ROMS?
In reading this thread, I realize that there are many more ROMS out there than I know about. So my question is there a sticky/FAQ that has a semi-up-to-date list of ROMS and where to go to download them (and maybe their support/info page)?
thanks,
-brad

For most stable results use Tiamat 3.3.7.
Currently however I am running Tiamat 4.0.2 sbc (and loving it) latest nv and the 1.77 pri as I generally get better battery life with it and it fixes my wake lock issue.

[Q] Favorite Rom

What is everyone's favorite gingerbread rom with working hdmi, 4g and hotspot? On the latest Fresh build but looking for a change. Also, which roms do you need to partition your sd card for and what is the reason. Thanks for the help.
My favorite Rom that had hdmi was myn warm 2.2. Currently all of the newer roms can't get hdmi because we don't have the new 2.3 kernel for the EVO. Also, you only need to partition of you are going to one of the sense 3.0 roms. I do know that all aosp 2.3 roms have hdmi working, but I'm not a fan of aosp.
Hope I helped.

I have been leaning towards synergy... what does anyone think?
Synergy's my favorite ROM, but it doesn't have working HDMI (as far as I know). Warm 2.2 is your best bet for Sense with HDMI, but there's tons of stuff on the AOSP side of things.
Synergy is great... No hdmi.

I prefer MikG 2.3, but if you need HDMI I believe it works on Calkulin's EViO 3 v1.0.
virus kingdom 6/23 nightly....still rocking it

Long time CM7 user. I use Decks now (based off CM7). Running 1.2.1 now. EVERYTHING works.
Just started using SnS for a while and everything is very smooth, no lag and great battery life. I was getting a lot of lag with 2.1/3.0 roms.

I agree I love miui. Its speedy and looks great. I also have the chainfire driver which add a tad but of zippy-ness in transitions

Minuit is dope

Decks!
It is nice to be important, but it is more important to be nice.
Currently deck 1.2.1 w sz 2.2.1 kernel. No other rom compares on my 0004 Evo so far. Battery. HDMI mirroring. Everything works perfect and I use the **** out of this phone.

Kernel

Hi! I'm running virus ROM Andi want to overclock but from what I've read so far you gotta have a custom kernel that's compatible with the ROM your using. Which kernel(s) are compatible with virus ROM B1-3. Thanks.
Sent From My HTC EVO On Boostmobile
Virus made a ton of ROMs. Which one exactly are you on? Froyo? Sense 1.0, sense 3.0 (kingdom)?
More specifics.
If it's froyo, go with netarchy kernels, if it's gingerbread, I believe you want lithids kernel (freedom, I believe it's called), or barnacles kernel (chop suey). Or I also believe there's a lionfish kernel, too.
Basically, netarchy kernels are for froyo (2.2), the others are for gingerbread (2.3). That's the main thing to know. I'm pretty sure netarchy never built any GB kernels (been a long time, but I believe I'm right).
Virus always built the best ROMs. Good choice.

Thanks evil. Forgot about that. I was pretty much done with sense around that time. So trying to remember all the GB sense kernels was a tall task lol
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
So what kernel should I use and is it gonna cause any problems? The stock kernel is really stable.
Sent From My HTC EVO On Boostmobile
The only GB sense rom I used was blue merge. But I liked using barnacles chop suey kernel with it. Actually, that ROM can with a kernel called poonkernel, or something like that, and it was pretty wicked in its own right.
I believe lithids freedom kernels have different levels of undervolting. Less, more, and aggressive.
But really, with kernels, as long as your using a compatible kernel, beyond that, you kinda just have to try em and see which one your phone seems to prefer. Every Evo is different.
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
I would look into ca1nes kernels, classic sense and underworld SBC would be the ones I'd recommend since they are being actively developed and still supported, barnacles, lithid, and netarchy have all moved on to other devices
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
underworld ran great on derp3d (a sense 3.0 rom as well)
