I have Yahoo Messenger on PC (WinXP), TMO GT & iPhone. When i make video call from PC to iPhone using Y Messenger or vice versa video call works perfectly. But when i make call from PC to TMO GT using Y Messenger or vice versa video call does not starts and hung up. IM is going to and fro from GT but can't make video calls? Anyone knows why?
Thanks,
The short answer is the YIM client on the Tab sucks at the moment, although one person did post that he had success with it. I'm sure Yahoo will be updating it sooner or later.
what about any other messenger that works?
Oovoo works great from pc to tab.

Hi,
I have been using Windows Live Messenger/Skype off my Hermes for quite some time now and I liked it. Now, I will be going outstation for 2 weeks, and I wish to stay in touch with my friends and family. So is it possible for me to use video call off wifi connections? If yes, what programs need I use? I have tried windows live messenger and skype on my phone. They do not support video calls.
Thanks
I have the touch pro, and also want to use msn with videocalling....
Try Microsoft Portrait. Microsoft Portrait is a research prototype for mobile video communication. I've tried it nearly a year ago. It worked, but the quality was awful.
Would be a good thing

the developing has stopped...
What would you suggest to make video calls to msn contacts, google contacts or skype contacts? all together maybe with just one program
i thought something like frings but with video...

install fringe
it works
it can do video calls too
and also does MSN, ICQ, Yahoo, AOL, SIP (whatever that is)
after installing fringe i removed Google Talk, MSN, and Yahoo chat from my phone, since that single app can do it all
But lemmie guess, with fringe, does it use the speaker only?
Because I use sipdroid, but since it uses the loudspeaker, there is lots of echo. On the i7500, they apparently used another kernel to fix these issues.
I can't use fring because its blocked in the uae if I could I'd run to use it lol could someone tell me why nimbuzz isn't working? That's my only option now cos talkonaut is ****e

Fring support seems to be working hard on the Galaxy S audio and video issue.
Is there no one who has used nimbuzz successfully here?

I recall it working fine the last time I had it installed. Don't have it anymore as I reflashed my phone and trying to cut down on apps I don't use.
people say they can hear me but i cant hear them i cant imagine what the problem is
Fring doesn't support Skype video calling anymore... what does it use for video calling? Just its own protocols?
Also, it's annoying because you cannot set the notifications in Fring - it's the same annoying vibration!

I tried nimbuzz to msn , and it worked fine on a Galaxy S
Fring doesnt support Skype anymore at all.. no? not just video calls..
Fring is working fine here, doesnt support skype anymore for now but evrybody have msn right?
Sipdroid supports video calls but I didnt try it yet so I dont know how it works.
If you are interested just in sip calling, I just found a very nice app
light and with a very good call quality and no configuration needed, just sip settings : mobileVOIP
Well you do need an account with a supported voip provider
I'll try this when I get home thanks although I need skype to work msn would still be good

i already did this once on yahoo messenger but now its not working and im sure there is an application doing this, i already tested nimbuzz and yahoo they are not working. tango is only mobile to mobile there is no pc version, nimbuzz is only voice and it works.
Same here, Yahoo Messenger only worked once, vaguely, and I think it was the back camera anyway.
Like you said Tango is not to PC and I don't like their phone based system, give me a UserID!
Tried a thing called Movicha, complete disaster.
The only working solution I've found with the front camera after searching high and low is ClearSea, a professional app with a trial version : http://www.mirial.com/products/ClearSea_desktop_video.html - when you sign up they give you two accounts.
Video is pretty good, at least over wifi, unfortunately there is a problem with the sound when you call a computer, as feedback/larsen quickly kicks in on the PC (even with noise cancelling enabled), I suppose you have to use a headset, Skype doesn't need that.
Wonder when Skype will have video on the Android version...
Hi all. I have a Samsung 10.1 limited edition (for what it means).
Skype did install on it but crash at startup.
Any idea?
Ragards.
Antonio
my skype doesn't crash on sign in, but crashes when trying to make a skype call. however, im not sure the tab is skype-call compatible.
I works without any problem in my 10.1v
than could be a problem of our "Limited Edition" ****
if you have a skype out account on your pc you can use skype on the GIO 10.2 and make/recieve phone calls
as always skype to skype calls are ok

i know this is an odd question, but i have had it with IM+, its laggy as he**, and skype constantly drops connection. what i am looking for is an all in one IM client, like what IMO used to be before skype was pulled. is there any apps for this other then IM+?
I have Skype and have no issues of the sort.
Why don't you try Google Hangout. And if you want something similar to Skype you can make free call text and body chat with Vonage as long as both parties are using the app.
