I have the paid version of LP, and I can't find any way to create folders in the apps pages. Would you mind sharing how this is done?
You can't create folders in the app page as far as I know, only on the home pages.

Try Apps Organizer by Fabio Collini
If you want to put app shortcuts in folders, yes.
I use "apps organizer" ( total disclosure, I have not upgraded to paid version yet, but I should )
After you install it, you can create Labels, into which you organize all of your apps.
I have about ten different label s:
Daily
Games: 2 player
Games: kids
Internet
Tools
Etc.
Once your apps are sorted then goto the Desktop, long press a blank spot, select Shortcut, select App Organizer and you will see all of your label groups
I use All Labels.... It works great
label interface page and long press on one
But the OP wanted to create folders in the applications pages (the drawer, right?).
Yes correct not on the home page but within the drawer

I have done some searching and cannot seem to find anything, please feel free to sarcastically point me in correct direction if i am wrong.
are there any favourite app launchers, e.g. a 1x1 program/widget than when clicked opened your 4, 8, 16 best apps (customizable) thus saving white space without having to scroll through all prorams to get to U etc?
Many thanks in anticipation

There are a few... I use Apps Organizer to arrange under manual icons and labels. Clicked once it opens a layer on the same screen with all the chosen app shortcuts in there. The most major limitation being that it cannot arrange widgets into such "folders".

You could just create a folder and drag app icons into it?
or you could just do that, sorry getting to grips with this phone still.
creating a folder works surprisingly well, many thanks

Another option
Another option is Ultimate Faves which lets you select favourite apps or contacts and scroll between the two.
I know you can create folders on the home screen but i'd really like to be able to organise the apps in the menu screen if its possible?
Thanks
Use App Categories

You still can't move any of the programs that you have in your application menu screen into a new folder in that screen.
I think some of you need to learn to read properly before you give some answers that isn't about what the OP is asking for.
The program menu screen is not the home screen.
Don't think you can without using an application
Sent from my X10a
no but you can create short cuts on the homescreen and put themin folder therefore reducing the time u need to enter the menu
Firstly thanks for all your replies.
I know you can create folders on the homescreen, thats not what i'm looking for.
I want to organise the apps in my programs menu. Seems a bit silly its not more straight forward as i would have thought the ability to organise apps as being quite essential.
Any one know what apps can help?
@pilot
That isn't what he's after. There's no need to post it multiple times.

Also, you could try zMenu.
It's not great but at least it allows you to categorize all of your apps.

i know. i only posted it once and yes its because i didnt read. but io did say that if he was to make folders on the home scren it would decrease time needed to locate apps

No what you do is longclick your home screen you want to shortcut on, click shortcuts>Better Home, then just click "Activity"....should be pretty self-explanatory from there
I was able to create a shortcut to the folder where the movie is located but is there a way to create a shortcut that will launch the movie

same question here, i dl'ed desktop visualizer but i dont see how to get to the movie file? it lets me go to the same things as anycut will. i stored the movie on my internal memory.
Figured it out, download Bettercut from the market ($2.99 you can uninstall and refund after your done it will still leave the shortcut) long press on the screen you want the shortcut on and choose shortcuts, then bettercut, scroll to the bottom and select make your own, and enter the following
Action: android.intent.action.VIEW
Data: content://media/external/video/media/11
Type: leave blank
Where 11 is it varies, that is the number for the file. It is in order of when the video was created so try with 1 and work your way untill you find your video could take some time depending on the number of videos you have and deleting videos will take up a number so sometimes you'll get an error saying it cannot be opened

Astro or Linda File Manager will allow you to navigate to a file and long press. Then select shortcut.
I guess I went the long way

Touchwiz AppSorter from the Market does this for you. But you have to be rooted

Even quicker:
When in application view. Press the menu key and select list view.
Problem sorted with no messing?

In most of the file managers present on Google play. when we open a folder and then go back, list view is automatically scrolled to the position from where folder was opened. So either the scroll position or whole list view is saved. I want to ask how this can be implemented?

yes, there are a few ways to do it, probably the easiest is just storing the scroll position yourself, much info on SO about this if you google... also complex views like listView save their own bundles too iirc
