I've been experiencing an issue with the new market. Sometimes when I'm downloading a new app or updating a few (update all) some will download and install, othrs will just stay stuck "downloading" and the later one is a 2 part issue:
1. It just stays stuck "downloading" and never updates, untill I cancel and retry
2. Downloads 100% and doesn't install, just vanishes... it will take 1 or 2 retry to get it to download and install.
I've cleared the cache and rebooted my phone but it always happens
Anyone knows whts going on?

You can boot into CWM and clear the cache and dalvik cache to see if that helps. If that does not work, uninstall the update and let it re-install itself.

I had to do the latter for mine. Uninstalled the update and let it reinstall itself later. No problems since.

Anything I try to download from the market just sits at "Starting Download." I've tried wiping the cache and dalvik cache, different wifi networks, 3G, but it still does it. I don't even get the notification. Help?
How about. settings/applications/manage applications
tick market/force stop/ next clear cache/ Next Uninstall updates and Reboot.
This method freed up a couple apps that were stuck on installing.
And it will reapply the update for the market as well after boot.
good day.

I've already done most of that. There are no Uninstall Updates option.
Had thee exact same issue. Wound up completely removing voodoo, flashing my stock + root + themes backup, re adding voodoo, and rebuilding the rest. Worked fine then.
I actually ran into the issue on my nexus, which I think was attributed to wiping, then restoring all my apps via titanium. I think I'll be avoiding that as I did the same before this occurrence.

I don't have Voodoo. Only root and birdman's voodoo colorfix. I think it may be Titanium because that is what I used to restore my apps since this is a brand new phone.

This happened to me after I updated to the 2.2 market, and installed the EVO font pack.
I uninstalled the evo font pack, uninstalled the 2.2 market, fixed.
If you've installed the 2.2 market, uninstall it, if you haven't, try installing that and seeing if it fixes the issue.

But I'm on the market it comes with out of the box.
Also, my phone was sitting there for about 2 hours. I had tried to install Dolphin HD 2 hours beforehand. It was installed. But, none of the other apps I tried to install did. This is so strange. Is there anything I can do to fix this? I need a working Market.
I got mine to work again...
I disabled voodoo and restored one of my back ups from a week ago that had the stock rom on it...
and now doing everything over again ...
I thinks you should try to restores yourse too maybe it will work again!

Sent from my SCH-I500 using Tapatalk
I had that problem yesterday I had to un-root the phone I can't post the URL but you can find the thread in the 2nd page of fascinate and devlopement forum
it was the only solution I found and it helped
Im Having the same problem. Happened after flashing JT's clean ROM.
It's from restoring apps with Titanium Backup. For whatever reason, whenever I do this, it breaks my market no matter what ROM and whether I have Voodoo or not. Restore to stock, re-root, and everything, and you need to restore every app manually.
I did not use Titanium Backup.
I posted a new thread about this, seemed to work for me and a few others I tried. Check "for anyone having market issues"
Been having the same problem. I used titanium to freeze then defrost Market. Then did the same thing to Market Updater. Market works perfect now, but it reverted from the Froyo version back to Eclair. But it's better than not working at all.
Promise this will work. Just go to titanium and click on Market and then click Wipe Data. Do the same with Market Updater. All will be fixed.

This is an old issue, with several things to try.
I would first suggest looking through your application list and uninstalling any 0.00 sized files left as ghosts of apps manually removed. There will possibly be other smallish sized files left behind as well if you can identify them.
Force stop and clear market cache
Boot into recovery, clear cache and reboot.

I tried everything you just said above exactly. It still has the same result: "Starting Download" indefinitely.
I also tried using Titanium Backup to wipe data for market and market updater, but that didn't work either. I'm pretty frustrated that I can't figure this out
Got a solution. I was having the same problem with my Evo. Go to applications, then go to installed on sd. Move everything over to the phone. Then go to all applications and clear cache/data/and force stop it. That did the trick. You can move everything back to sd card after it fixes the market issue and it shouldn't happen again.

Uninstalling the froyo market and reverting back to the 2.1 market resolved this issue for me on 2 phones ... Mine and the wifee.
I had this issue, and I found out something peculiar. I was running JT's Super Clean rom with Market 2.2 and a Voodoo kernel, and the Factory Reset ran, but did not actually reset anything. After turning Voodoo off, I was able to Factory Reset, which fixed the Market issues.
Same thing here...
I was having this issue as well. Had to install JT Clean rom w/ wiping cache and data. Tried every suggestion in the book but none fixed it but wiping cache and data and installing JT Clean Rom.

I've been using the following MIUI for a few versions, and the most recent one breaks wifi calling for me. When I first flashed the rom, it did an endless reboot until I booted the rom in safemode. Then it would actually load correctly but wifi calling force closes every time.
Has this happened for anyone else? Any ideas?

I understand you don't have enough post to do so in the Dev section. But that is where this really belongs. You'll get more reply and it'll bring more attention because the dev will read that thread looking for issues.

Yeah I know it should have been in the dev section, but as you stated, I can't post there yet. Hopefully can after this post!
thederekjay, thanks for the response! I reflashed the rom twice with the same response both times. I then redownloaded the rom, checked the md5 and verified that it was the same as the previous download and it was, but still had the same issue. When I first flash the rom and it boots into it, it endlessly reboots, never getting passed the gingerbread MIUI screen, until I hold menu and let it boot into safe mode. I then reboot the phone, and it will boot normally but wifi will FC immediately and every time I run it after. Everything else seems to work flawlessly though. WIFI calling is a big deal to me though because I get poor reception in my apartment so I've relied on it in the past. I did notice that no one else reported this issue though. Weird that I'm the only one having it. I'll try to reflash with the new update you posted the other day to fix the MMS issue and see if that works better.
BTW, love the rom! Thanks for the work you put into it!
I believe that it's clockwork not wiping correctly regardless of reflashing the recovery.

also, I noticed that your signature, thederekjay, says that you are using ext4. A friend of mine mentioned that on his galaxy S captivate that he switched to ext4 and it ran much faster. Do I need to do something special for that, and is it advantageous to do so?

It would be added into the rom Friday. Ext4 has significant speed boost over ext3. The system is initially faster on start up. The overall os. Probably the reason Google choose to make gingerbread ext 4. Overall optimization by using it. Not all roms are full ext 4 usually ext3 mounted as ext4. The reason Samsung galaxy phones first ones were so slow were due to rfs really outdated. That's why when your friend used ext 4 it was a dramatic increase. This is pretty much the differences ext3 vs ext4.http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ext4

Howdy,
Installing now & trusting this will work & is not a virus or some other such bad thing.
My problem was not a boot loop, but rather the OTA kept trying to install on my rooted thunderbolt & I didn't want it to.
Installed with CWM recovery & so far so good i.e. booted back up fine.
Once the OTA downloads, it sits in cache and tries to boot into stock recovery to upgrade the softwarte and errors out. my moms thunderbolt started doing it randomly, a week or two ago and blamed me for putting ext4 recovery. I told her it was probably an update. So tonight i finally upgraded her GingerbreadRock 3.1 to 3.3 with the newest software... it would boot then turn on for a few mins and then it restarted into recovery mode. My mom was lost but it only took a cache and/or dalvik cache format in recovery to remove the reboot problem.

Howdy,
This was my problem at first & so I wiped cache & had no issue for 2 or 3 day; then the OTA tried to install again & I was right back to the same issue your mom was having.
In the next week or so I'll try to find a clean ROM to flash which should bring me up to date.

Just curious, whatever it freezing, could it be frozen with Titanium backup?
Even though I didn't use this, thank you for doing it.
It seems a little silly that many of the dev's didn't bother to rename or remove OTACERTS.
I froze mine during the last update using Titanium back up after my phone kept trying to update.
