I dont think there is any way to bypass an unlock code, however it was set. It is after all there to protect your phone from unwanted use. The only course of action I can sugest is to Hard Reset it back to factory settings which would erase the unlock code but would also erase all msgs, contacts, settings and installed appications on your phone. At least you would be able to get back into it though.
Guys,
I just had a quick question. Does anybody know if I do a factory reset on the phone, will it erase the SIM unlock that I did already from T-Mobile? My phone is extremely sluggish and locking up. However, Iam worried that doing a factory reset will "lock" the SIM again to T-Mobile. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
You can unlock your phone as many times as needed with that code. The code is locked to your device!
It shouldn't remove the SIM unlock.
I have never tried with the Vibrant, but in me experience with about a dozen other unlocked GSM phones, a factory reset has never re-locked the phone.

Yup, same here.
unknown amount of odin's and roms 2.3 included, never a relock.
Factory reset doesn't even have access to that partition.
You should be able to factory reset with no issues. Once that unlock code is in, that phone should stay unlocked for life.
no, but I wish it does because some people with corrupted imei are having a hard time to fix it.
anyways, you'll be fine.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
so does a factory reset wipe out the unlock, and re-lock my vibrant to T-mobile?
If it does then just use the same unlock code because your EMEI doens't change. Correct me if I'm wrong.
No never

i have an lg optimus quantum c900b that i unlocked using an unlock code, i did some modifications like unlocking developer mode and de-branding in the registry
i wanted to reset the phone to factory except unlock as i am having trouble doing an update, will the reset restore this to defaults? if not how can i restore this to complete defaults?
I'm pretty sure, an imei unlock can be turned to unlock.
There is a lot of errors, because most of the people mix the IMEI unlock with the developer unlock.
But', it's true, if the same have the same name...it's complicated.
In your case, no problems at all. Is IMEI Unlock. You can use developer unlock again after hard reset.
I have the D801 (I think that's it, the TMobile variant) and unlocked it to take it over to AT&T. We had to change the APN settings to get it to work of course. I am now wanting to sell the phone but would like to know if the Unlock still sticks, and if the APN settings were reset back to the Tmobile/stock settings?
The phone hasn't been rooted or anything of that nature, just the unlock code when I took it over to At&t.
Thanks!

The unlock will remain but the apn settings will most likely need to be re entered. I have the opposite situation(at&t d800 that I'm using on t-mobile)and I have factory reset this device and did the upgrade to kit kat and the unlock remained. I did have to re enter the apn settings after both the reset and the os update.

Excellent, thank you very much for the information. I wanted to be able to be a little more informed on that stuff before I try to sell it in case they ask. Appreciate it.
