Hi,
Is ther not just a registry edit available?
Searched roudn the site but its all software.
Thx

Big D: no there isn't. It's not done through the registry AFAIK.

For specific contacts, edit the contact, and press on the down arrow in the name field. Put both the surname and forname in the "first" category.
That is an "ok" way around this at best. However I think all of us prefer to have the First and Last separated for outlook purposes.
Thanks for the advice too guys
Can anyone WM5 confirm that FileAsFL.arm.CAB v 1.0 doesn't work on WM5? I've used it for months on WM2003 and would be qutie surprised if it doesn't. I can have a look at the source if it doesn't I guess.
V
you may edit your contacts in outlook and then sync with your pda it works
FileAsFL.CAB does work in WM5...I Use it on my Wizard. I think a device reset is necessary before it appears in the menu of the messaging application.
CIAO!

as the title says since i flashed with crossbow when i open contacts i see all the contacs which are on the sim and all contacs which are on the phone.
which means alot of the contacts are double
with all other (pre-crossbow) roms i never had that problem, i couldnt find anything using the search. so i ask if anyone know a way to "fix" this or make an option to only show phone or sim contacts?
change registry as follows:--
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ControlPanel\Phone]
ShowSim=0
It should work...
the key wasnt there so i added it.
but it didn't work, als tried ShowSim=1 and also tried altering the other keys there (AllLang and Group) but no effect
thanks for the effort though
Works!
Hello, go under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone and you'll find the ShowSIM value. Set to 0 and you will not see anymore your SIM contacts
the key wasnt there so i added it, this one worked
thanks
Well, was my first message in this forum, I'm happy was useful ;-)
hello all!
i want to show only the contacts i synchronize via outlook, not the ones on the sim card! i know, i somehow managed to do this in wm2003, but i cant remember anything...
bet i will get called stupid for that question...
hopefully someone can help me as well...?
thx in advance,
krz

hehehe...
Just search the forums for SIM contacts registy.
thx for that one! after searching for half an eternity, i guess i found what i was looking for...
if u didnt want to show SIM contact in Contact add this key
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"ShowSim"=dword:0
is there any other way to achieve what i am trying to do...?!?
anyone?
btw: how can edit the registry without installing an extra reg editor like resco explorer...?
thx in advance, especially for concrete answers or links....
That's the only way I know to hide the sim contacts (or delete them from your sim)
To do that you will need a registry editor, resco is a good one.
Hi All!!

welcome to this forum
here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398265
and yeah next time use search botton
i'm using DiamondTweak and there is an option 16.1 sim contacts, where you can choose to hide them. that works for me.
edit: i just noticed this option will be reset after you do a soft reset
I use mortscript for that. It's a tiny script that executes after each soft reset and disables the sim contacts in my contact list. I already posted that somewhere here on the forum how to do that. Please do a search on mortscript + hidesim.mscr and you will find it.
EDIT: read this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2486985&postcount=2
or use the cab file in the last post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2486985#post2486985
Exactly NikiSimFix.CAB works great!
Thanks for helping me
Installed NikiSimFix.CAB and everything is great.
That simply doesn´t work for me puting the "showsim" option.
I´ve only made it with sktools, but after a softreset it´s there again.
sktools doesn´t insert the showsim either. I´m clueless where it is disabling this
Edit: forget it! my bad. Was checking on HLM.
I copied all my contacts from the SIM card to the phone. Now I have them duplicated on my contacts list. I've search everywhere and can´t find a way for it not to display the SIM contacts. I installed a advanced configuration tool that has that option, but it automatically changes back to show sim contacts
Can anyone help please?
Thanks

Try this reg edit.
HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim: 1 change to 0

SIM contacts again
OK, but after turn off/on SIM contacts are visable again.
How, make them invisable permanently?
There isn't any option in menu to display only HTC contacts.
A big mess, I think.
you can use advance config tool
Hi ariana,
having the same problem.
Advanced Config Tool as well as editing registry directly do not work.
Specific registry entry is reset to 1 after reboot. And SIM Contacts still there...
Also tried Kaiser SIM Fix and Niki SIM Fix found here. Does not work either....
Very, very sad....
for me this is working very nice. i have 2 sims (vodafone and orange) and i'm changing both of them. and everything is ok.
How did you deact. SIM contacts?
Have you made any other changes (touch deact., other apps, etc)?
Perhaps the reason is somewhere in the start-up apps.
Just an idea.
I installed an app called iContact in my HTC Touch 3G, and is really useful, mimiking the iPhone. And obviously, you can ocult your SIM contacts. I recommed it!.
Only way is remowe manualy contacts from SIM, I think.

Yes, I gave up long time ago. I copied everything from the SIM to the PDA and then remove everything from it. It seems to be the fastest and simplest solution. Whenever I want to take the SIM out and use it on another phone, just copy the contacts back to the SIM using the built-in function.
has anyone found a better solution for this yet?
Hi.
Is there anyone that capable to redo a file like NikiSimFix.cab that works on Jade?
Thanks
With the Spb-Mobile-Shell you can hide SIM-contacts permanently.

I am not sure why it's not working on yours. On mine when I changed any registry settings and softreset, the changes stays there. For the settings HKCU\ControlPanel\Phone\ShowSim: 1 change to 0, when I changed to 0 (and then softreset), the SIM contacts does not show anymore even after many many restarts/softresets.

If this is no solution for you, it is possible to write an mortscript and autostart it to set the registry-entries on every new start of the phone. For details you have to read here:
