This will depend on the ROM due to framework using the wrong framework will end up in a recovery of backup.
Yeah, tried it on the latest Finnish Fillyjonk, ended up having to reflash due to phone not booting.
Works great on jellyfish v9 rom. Thank you.

Rebooted into recovery (clockworkMod Recovery v3.0.0.6)
Located the renamed files (update.zip) in my download folder.
Tried to apply the update

It was nessasary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update.zip packages.
Installation aborted."
- What the heck??!! Please advise!
Are you on JJ Rom?
If yes install a newer version of clockwork mod like 2.5.1.8 as the new ones wont allow to install addons.
Cheers,

works perfekt but it looks a little cheesy.
its possible to add/change design to a simple flat black?

Strongly suggest you use ROM Manager by Clockworkmod to backup your ROM before doing anything
Thanks to brut.all, judison, Fightspit and setenza01 for this nice looking ROM
Instructions:
1) Download and install ROM
2) Use my zip as update.zip and flash in recovery

This doesn't work. Applied the update fine, but when rebooted, black screen with a bunch of FC's. Had to restore. Was running ROM Samset 1.6 as recommended.
Did u use stock recovery or rom manager to flash?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
First used rom manager and nothing happened. Then used stock recovery, applied, and when booted, got the FC's. I could see the percentage in the battery, but that's about it. The FC's would not let me do anything else. Any suggestions?
hmm.. i've tried it again and it works on mine. only difference is im using clockworkmod to flash (remember to mount /system first)
anyway, i've resigned so download again..
Just installed your Mod. Works fine on my Galaxy S.
Thanks a lot !
Thanks, nice work. I have searched such a mod.

most likely not, jp2 is development firmware, i will make one but will not support it since i wont be using jp2 as my daily rom
installed, it works~ =)
does it look good?
the sceenie looks like the numbers are blurry ...
anyway to go back to stock samset battery if i dont like this one?
Could you make an update out of the images i have linked? it's a circle battery with % in it. also the charging got a few more images.
I can get the images into framework-res.apk with no problem but the problem i'm having is modding the two battery xml files and the packing the apk again to get it to work
i've already tried this:
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthread.php?t=2812085&page=58
as it does not quite match the theme, i modded samset battery to fit the theme
Is there a way to remove the super annoying tmobile splash screen? That thing is so freaking loud it's ridiculous!
Thanks for any help
actually there is, lemme find the link:
well cant find it, but if u search harder than me u will. someone made a flashable .zip that removes tmobiles crap from the boot up animation
here
flash with clockwork
it also works with JI5
replaces tmobile boot/shut
with original galaxy S boot/shutdown animation & sound
T-Mobiel Boot Screen
Thanks Demo..I didn't like the T-Mobile noise & screens also. I have JI6 installed & your fix worked for my Vibrant.

Ok I did this and it worked!
Samsung 2.2 (Official kies install) rooted, with clockwork recovery (ROM Manager installed and flashed).
Simply copy that to your sdcard (internal).
Then reboot into recovery mode:
Shut down phone hold down all three buttons, etc
Then reinstall packages twice.
Then install zip from sdcard
select the file you copied
and whala!
Thanks guys! I hated that crap
Do you have to rename the file to Update.zip?

No, there's an option that says "install zip from SDCard"
Just move the .zip to your internal SD card, go into clockwork, and flash it from that option.
Im one of those who were fond of the T-Mobile's boot and shutdown animation but I gotta say the galaxy S one is awesome sauce.
Does it work on 2.2?
sorry, wrong thread
hey guys ... first ...THANKS
next - i am so green at this until i don't even know how to ask the questions ...but, i'll try ...
as the title says, i DON'T understand some of the instructions ...and my reading, etc., has not given the answers. ...and, it's MY fault, not yours.
so,here goes:
i DID root my phone (droid 2 w/matt's 2.5 ....yeaaaa
i DID go on market and buy basics (titanium backup, kouch bootstrap, super manager, etc....
i DID reboot my phone & tried to follow instructions & load NEXTHEME on my phone .....i DID put my phone in loop that showed "Matt 4542 Epic) over & over & over.........etc.
now....Exactly What does this mean?
3. Install .zip from sdcard, (i thought this was nextheme zip ..
choose zip from sdcard. (i thought i had already chosen
4. Install NexTheme. ////( you gotta be kidding ..i've already installed it twice!
5. Enjoy! ...i can't, my phone is looping!!!!
also, what is the update zip?? ..i thought i was updating with nextheme???
you can see that i'm a novice....would you please help an old man??
thanks
question ...could i just load this theme to my sd card and use metamorph pro to install it?
3. Install .zip from sdcard, (i thought this was nextheme zip)
NexTheme is a zip file. This is simply giving you the option to choose an install location.
choose zip from sdcard. (i thought i had already chosen
You are picking the file that you are going to actually install. You would select NexTheme.zip
4. Install NexTheme. ////( you gotta be kidding ..i've already installed it twice!
The other 2 options are preparing the file and locating where it is. This is the last option of not having to install. Basically this is a final screen for a yes or no.
5. Enjoy! ...i can't, my phone is looping!!!!
Did you clear you data cache?
could i just load this theme to my sd card and use metamorph pro to install it?
I do not think there is a metamorph version of this theme out currently but I will ask draya1986.
what is the update zip?? ..i thought i was updating with nextheme???
You are installing NexTheme not updating it. Also, it would take out the option of having to select the nextheme.zip that you choose for the install option if it were named update.zip and in the root directory I believe.
ok, cool, ... this time i will clear the cache & try it
thanks for the reply ... and for the explanations ...

well, i tried again ...SIiiiigggghhh
and, once again i'm watching Epic by Matt 4542.....it loops, loops, and, every now & then, shows the main screen...gives me hope that it will completely boot, ...the, Epic Matt 4542 again, and, again, and, again, and.......
i rebooted into recovery from kouch's bootstrap program,
i backed everything up (i hope), i wiped cache, then, loaded nextheme zip (2 4 5 final), rebooted and Epic Matt 4542
Waaaaaa ,,,what now?
nextheme 2.4.5 is not the correct theme to use. I believe EPIC 2.7 is based off 2.3.15 not 2.4.5 so it will have framework issues. Try using nextheme 2.2

In clockwork recovery there is a backup function. Its basically the same thing as a nandroid but it does have a few more features like only restoring your data.
yes,its in clockwork recovery>backup/restore options

This sound like you are using rom manager to me from the android os. Is this right? If so it also (could be or) sounds like you are entering the default recovery rather than clockwork. Did you install clockwork via one-click or alternative method first?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
One click but I have installed the the one from rom maager..
When the phone reboots from ROM Manager, you need to hold the camera+vol down+power buttons before it starts rebooting.
I tried it already,I just noticed it says android system recovery (2e)
Try turning your phone off than turning on with the three button method. Hold power+volume down+camera. That should get you into clockwork. Lettering should be green and not blue like stock recovery. If it appears blue than you dont have clockwork installed. Try the one click method. It has clockwork redirector which means any apps you may use that has recovery options it'll take you straight to clockwork. Hope this helps.
I have tried that and yes the letters are blue and says android system recovery 2e..is there a manual .img I can flash via adb or terminal emulator I have tried one click that's how I rooted but no luck,I tried rom manager install recovery but no luck.,am starting to miss amon-rec.img but loving the epic so far ..help guys please....the only I can say I miss about the evo is 2.2 but not much

Try the all in one. Its a sticky in the dev section. It roots and installs clockwork with redirector. Or if you can find the one click clockwork recovery alone. Maybe that'll help. Don't ue rom manager so I'm sorry can't help on that app.

It sounds like you don't have CW recovery installed properly. You can't do it from rom manager if you are on stock kernel. Use the newest one click, I think its like version 2.5.5 or something like that. Then boot while holding the 3 buttons. It should bring you to a screen that looks very much like the amon ra recovery (minus the carebear).
Hold down all three buttons until it boots to CWM. If the blue letters still come up then you don't have CWM. The script for the CWM redirector doesn't work properly on my Epic.

Unsure what that means. Does rom manager even install cw? Try the one click. You appear to be doing the right combo to get u to the recovery screen but it seems the default is where you are going to. One click root and cwm with redirector that puppy and let us know how it goes.

I was wondering if someone could tell me what I need to do to use a gingerbread theme on my fascinate. I don't fully understand the potential dangers of flashing a dj05 theme over a dl09 rom. I got the OTA dl09 but then flashed Blackhole 3.0 rom...so yeah I'm not really sure if that matters, but I would appreciate any help! Thanks guys.
You can flash the dj05 themefrom nitsuj/retrokid, but you have to immediately flash the dl09 theme fix. Other wise, your phone will not boot. Not sure exactly why, but something with an option changed from dj05 to dl09.

..... it can be found here.
When you say flash the theme fix immediately after, do you mean I have to set up a que in rom manager or...yeah i dunno what else. Usually when I flash a rom the phone reboots itself instead of returning to the CWM recovery screen.

Instead of booting into recovery from ROM Manager, turn the phone off. Then hold both volume buttons and the power button until the Samsung logo shows up. Release the keys. This will bring you to the stock recovery. Select install update.zip to get into CWM. Flash the theme first. After the theme is flashed, you'll still be in CWM. Flash the theme fix. You're done.

Then you are using rom manager, I suggest doing it manually, by putting the theme on your sd card and also the theme fix, its very easy to do,
Just apply sd card:update zip
Then select install zip from sd, then find the zip, flash the theme, then flash the theme fix, then go back and reboot system.
One other thing that helps me is fixing permissions after a flash anything. It is also an option in rom manager

Hey you rock for responding. One last question: Will this be compatible with the ROM i'm running and do you ever wipe data/cache before flashing a theme?

No need to. Just flash.
So even though the link for the theme fix is in the super clean v0.4 thread, it will work for blackhole 3.0? Sorry to be redundant
yes it will work for any dl09 rom *when a dj05 theme is applied* but flash the fix AFTER the theme
Worked great! thanks guys
