T mobile NS
Is there any problem with Nexus S sold from T mobile?....cause i found one in ebay used only for 4 days and the price is very low......?
T-Mobile doesn't sell the Nexus S. As far as I know, the only authorized retailers are Best Buy and Carphone Warehouse. In general, I'm always suspicious about deals that seem too good to be true, but sometimes they happen. Like when I got FSX in return for playing online games. Microsoft has never been more cool than it was at that moment. But yeah, eBay is good. Just be sure you read the crap out of the item description, because some people will screw you if you let them.
I am talking about the below deal...is it ok?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_4435wt_1139
.....and my second option is this.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270689821679&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123
Which one you should choose?
Which one from below....
1) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_4435wt_1139
2) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...9&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_582wt_1139
My budget is around 720$...so if you have anything better to suggest please do it.....
I asked the seller if nexus s is sold from t mobile cause i cannot find it in their site...
ear sakiss1000,
Check Tmobile's website. They launched the Nexus S about 2 months ago. This was bought on 1/10 and only used for about 4 days before I put it up for sale
Dear sakiss1000,
Maybe it is sold out i am not sure. But i purchased it at local tmobile kiosk.
So can anyone confirm if t mobile is selling nexus s?

I just clicked both of your links, and I would choose neither one of them. One of them is $550 with $100 shipping! The other is $619 with $10 shipping. Both are ripping you off, especially the "used" one.
You can get the phone for $529 at Best Buy (plus tax) with free shipping. This is UNLOCKED and CONTRACT FREE from Best Buy.
Did they raise the prices on those eBay links? Because those aren't "very low" prices like you said in your first post.
There's absolutely no reason to buy an NS from anyone but Best Buy unless you're getting a deep financial discount to do so.
I am from Greece thats why i am searching for an ebay purchase.....

Well, you should have just changed the title of this thread instead of starting the new one you did that asks the same question. And on that new thread you should put in your first post that you're from Greece, because I was just about to respond over there the exact same way...
Personally, the guy with $100 shipping pisses me off, because that's such a rip off price on shipping and his "time to handle shipping", so I wouldn't do business with him, but his is new, and the other is used, and I always prefer new over used when the price is similar.

He's probably not located in the US and needs to get one off of Ebay because he can't buy it in a B&M Store.
Anyway, to answer the OP's question, I would go with #2 since it's cheaper, it's new, and he ships internationally. I know he has less feedback, but at least it's still 100%.
Anything under a 99.6% is a bad seller rating. See here for how to win at ebay http://www.kenrockwell.com/tech/ebay/seller.htm (linked the researchign seller page) It is multipage article and mostly about cameras and lenses, but very good info.

Yeah....many ebay sellers are doing this.....they sell the product in low price cause ebay earns money for each deal....and they earn their money from shipping costs.
Got any friends in america or canada? That would be the safest way imo

You cannot buy a NS a tmobile store, kiosk, whatever. If he is claiming he did then something is fishy.

Ah, that makes sense, on some level, but it still seems shady to me...doesn't it also put their item higher up in the results if someone sorts by price, even if the total price w/shipping is higher?

the first one is cheaper ...true but it is also used for 4 dys (according to the seller) and the biggest point to note here is that the shipping cost is by Priority post whereas the second one is by express mail. so i would go by the second option being new and faster delivery. difference is of only 50 bucks here.

W00000T I FOUND ONE.. 12% off
I'm a RewardZone Premier Silver Member, and I got coupons in the mail last week, it's good 12/8-12/19, says 12% off on no-contract phones.
It says "when you use your reward zone program premier silver membership"
It also came with a 10% off one too.
Looks like a standard coupon, I've used these before and I always use my RewardZone, so I don't know if it actually is required for a Premier Silver level to use.

My advice for using best buy coupons is always be nice and courteous to the cashier, if you act like some douche they will deny it, and if you get your coupon denied just ask to talk to the manager, they usually fix things up for you. I've got them to honor prices that were misprinted in the past.
Wow awesome...I just checked BB and I'm not eligible for an upgrade until JULY so that means i have to pony up $500+ for the Nexus S. So any coupon in form is awesome!
Hopefully one is found for thursday!
I believe that all of the best buy reward coupons state that unlocked phones and contract phones are excluded. It says that no contract phones are acceptable meaning pay as you go phones. You could probably argue that having t-mobile service means that all phones would qualify but they are technically unlocked phones or contract phones. The coupon may not apply the discount but they may give you the discount anyway.

It says you need Premiere Membership, but again, just sign up for RewardZone, and hope that it works for non Premier members

Thank You
Just to let you know, the back of the coupon, in the fine print, it says its not valid on contract/ AND unlocked phones. Isnt the Nexus S an unlocked phone? Im a premiere silver member and got the coupon a few days ago as well, but saw the fine print. I will still try to use it, but they could argue it and say that it is an unlocked phone so therefore invalid
Damn, what is the differenzce between unlocked phones and no-contract phones? Seems to be the same for me. Sorry I am not from the US, so maybe this is a stupid question.
I think we should argue if they say anything.
I would like to get it for $199 on contract, but the store doesn't sell it, only off contract full price (and it happens to be unlocked), it's their fault they don't sell T-Mobile in their store, so it should qualify as a "no contract phone"

check their feedback rating.
usually if theyre a top rated seller, you're fine.
If it's a buy-it now price of $70, it would be gone by now. If it's an auction, the price is going to rise before it sells.
I've known plenty of ebay scammers who will either fake receipts or use one legitimate one for a bunch of counterfeit products.
Feedback is a good indicator. Also take a look at what else they are selling.
There's no reason anyone would sell a phone for $70 when they know it can fetch much, much more... unless it's fake or broken. Even parts phones that don't function will get you $100-$200.
Remember the phrase: if a deal sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
Well if you have time you can always. Open a case with ebay and paypal if you never get the item or it broken and the seller didn't mention it, anyone has a link? I have some money and time to see what's up...

Well, He is selling it in bids, thats why it is to cheap
Dude, it's an auction. I'm not in the flaming mood, so I'll explain:
An auction works when the seller provides a starting price, which is usually very low to entice interested buyers (like yourself).
The first person who decides he or she wants to buy it, will offer to pay the starting bid. Any other person can then bid on it by offering to pay a higher amount. People outbid each other and the price rises. As I said before, it won't sell for that price. It will probably sell in the $400 range.
Check his feedback. If it's legit, and he wasn't buying pennies to get to 200, it's probably not a scam.
If he has under 50 feedback regardless of the quality, I'd be worried.

exactly...
The way eBay works, all the action happens the last couple hours, even last minutes of the auction. That's when the bidding wars take place. Wait and see, the price will shoot up as the end of the auction approaches.
Bidding in an eBay auction anytime but the last hour is actually a n00b thing to do. Unless its an item that nobody wants, all you would be doing is driving the price up.

Not true, any priority mail item has some sort of tracking(USPS tracking is a bit of a joke, though), and you can add insurance to any of them if you want(Anything over $200 or $300 requires a signature). I buy and receive flat rate all the time on a tool website I frequent (I have a bit of a tool fetish that complements my car fetish.... don't ask about the phone fetish, though, it is a long story).
I have also sent several phones using flat rate boxes, added on insurance, and felt more than comfortable with shipping as such.

Looks like Costco will be selling the Xoom on Feb 24th and a little plus is that it will have a $35 mail in rebate to take care of the stupid 1 month data requirement...
Looks like I will be going to Costco on the 24th.. Great thing is Costco has a great return policy (90 days) so if price drops within that time period its definitely going back for price adjustment or just return and re buy...
Wow, I'll bet BestBuy will match the activation fee now. Let the price wars begin!
With the activation fee waved, the first month of service is manageable. Or perhaps it can be canceled within 3 days as others have speculated for a refund.

Doubtful as Best Buy cannot do anything with your bill. They might be willing to take 35 dollars off the price of the thing, but very doubtful
Is this true? If so I just jizzed in my pants. My family calls me a Costco Evangelist. I was all worried that I would have to return this tablet every 14 days at Best Buy until a wifi-only version came out.
With Costco I might keep it, or just return it once when the wifi-only version comes out. Costco is awesome, beyond their EPIC return window, they also have an almost unlimited return policy for things that stop working. I have returned things 12 months later with no problem.
Were you seriously going to return and repurchase a xoom every 14 days just so you can say you have the thing first?
I'm not sure that that's something you should openly admit to, just seems sad.

Sad, nah. Exploitive, yes. The problem is that I want a wifi-only version, but I need a tablet now. I have been needing one for a few months now, but was unhappy with all the options available. If they would do the wise thing and release the wifi-only version first or simultaneously, I wouldn't have to play games. Or if they didnt mark it up 250$

Heh, good point, my bad =)
Take this with a grain of salt but I spoke with one of the phone guys at costco on the 15th and he said they expected to have it for about $100 less than best buy and verizon just like they currently do on the galaxy tab. I tend to believe that considering marking a $500 item down to $400 is a lot bigger of a cut than knocking an $800 item down to $700 is.
I talked to my buddy at the costco (yea i work there myself). The email said they will get the live demo starting on the 22nd. It also said starting the 24th they would get the actually product. It didn't say the price though. You WILL be required to get a month of service. The rumor is about $100 less just like the samsung tab. If i get anymore info, i'll keep this updated. I'm also waiting to get it myself.
Now how about the Wifi version $100 less at $500!!! Oh, what joy that would bring!
I really want this soon, price is my only concern. They better announce the Wifi version next week and say it's coming in no more than 1-2 weeks, I've waited far too long...I can't stand it...

My friend plans on buying one now, and then buying a nexus prime when it comes out. I kind of agreed to buy the SG2 off him in late November to early December(assuming the prime is out) but he wants to set a price now. How much should I offer to be fair to both of us?
He is buying it from bell for $600 + tax = $678
Whatever the market rate is in November and who can tell what that will be .
Set a price now considering it is second user in November .
50% of initial selling price is what i would agree to .

In November? I think it depends on what devices will be available at that time, still I think it should be around US$ 500.

People are already selling it for $580 on the marketplace here. That is the lowest I have seen. That is also people from the UK, who probably paid more for the phone. I think $500 is reasonable in November, maybe even $450 for a used one.
I wouldn't agree on a price until November though.
If I were to guess, 550-600 would be best price. 500 if condition is not 9/10
Do not set the price right now!!!

I am guessing this is a verbal agreement, in any case, I wouldn't set the price four months before I purchase the phone.
Now since he is your friend and you want things to remain cool, your safe bet would be to tell him that you will pay whatever the price is on ebay at the time.
You have the upper hand here since you are the one who is going to be paying in the end. Why buy it from your friend when you can buy it from someone else on ebay for a cheaper price?

I am guessing this is a verbal agreement, in any case, I wouldn't set the price four months before I purchase the phone.
Now since he is your friend and you want things to remain cool, your safe bet would be to tell him that you will pay whatever the price is on ebay at the time.

Bad move. Too many things can go wrong and potentially hurt the friendship. If you do agree to buy it, don't set a price. Make it a function of some well known price maker - like Amazon, NewEgg, or maybe eBay. And set a date. For example, agree to pay 80% of the listed NewEgg price on November 15th. That way no one feels like they've been suckered.
Sound pretty silly to set a price at this point. Nobody knows what will happen to the market. Say you set a price now for $500. Maybe in november the used phones go for $400 and you got screwed, or they have not gone down that much and they go for $600 and your friend gets screwed. Nobody wins unless the price you set somehow is the actual going market price in november.
You should definitely wait to price it.

I wouldn't pay more than $300-350 for a used SGS2 in november (with so many months of use).
Also, remember that craigslist.org is always an option if you're in the area.

win! LOL i only paid 299 and it was full retail! someone should inform him!!
I'm not surprised. Seen listings for phones worth <$300 mint going for $70-$150 with screens so fouled up, you would think they got married and tied it on the back of the car like it was a tin can. Being that big a device, I'd believe someone trying to sell a TF101 it for parts at $400.

It's not someone TRYING to sell at that price. That's the price it's at after 60 bids.
I think we can chalk that up as a win for the seller.

yep exactly. and description isn't confusing at all. I don't understand it. Maybe someone hit up a big offer and the seller asked someone to get the price higher.

The "highest" bidder as of now has a (1) rating.
So yeah could be a "New" account just to bump price up.
soccerdude288 should sell his on Ebay too.
Is not so funny for me. Did you ever check prices in Europe? I bought my TF for 700$ before 6 months now is around 600$. Ok the price for as-is for US is high but as you can see shipping is worldwide
Lolol

It may not be that, either. I tried selling several of my used phones (including an iPhone 4) over the past year or so. Every time I tried to post a decently priced (~$150-200 USD for a phone that was selling for $300 used typically) some random 'new' account would either buy the phone out or balloon the bid up to some ungodly amount. Sure enough, payment would never be received, eBay would insist I give them their cut (even though they could clearly see I had never been paid, through PayPal or any other means), and my phones never sold. After 10 months of fighting this nonsense, and eBay still insisting I owed them seller fees for successfully sold items, I gave up completely on that rotten site. It's chock full of nonsense these days.

Ain't that the truth. I put a CULV machine up for sale at what I thought was a reasonable $50 starting bid. Within an hour I got an email from someone who told me (not asked, mind you) to close the listing, ship him the laptop and he would send me the $50. I declined, and he sent me another email telling me my laptop would never sell on eBay.
Shortly after that, two new accounts started a bidding war and took the price up to $1000. The price sat there until the auction ended 6 days later. Of course, no sale. I tried to work with eBay, but all they agreed to was not charging me to relist the laptop. They also claimed to close the two accounts, but a month after this you could still find the accounts on the site.
Moral: eBay has become a sales sewer. Thugs are running the place, and for every interesting and reasonably priced product you can find, there are 500 crap knockoffs waiting to take your money.

Forgive me for being a dumbass, but what do you guys think these "new" accounts' intentions are for pushing prices way up and then not paying?

Force people to look elsewhere to buy the same item for less. For example, to their auctions.

Or as retaliation. That emailer was right-- the laptop didn't sell.
Flip side, some could do it if their auction isn't making what they'd like it to make.
