Thunderbolt system dumps - Droid Incredible General

This might be in the wrong spot if so feel free to muve it but I found the system dump for the Thunderbolt I am not a Dev so I thought I would post this in hopes that a Dev would make a Rom for the Dinc thank you ahead of time http://androidforums.com/htc-thunderbolt/253174-htc-thunderbolt-system-dump.html

They can't get it to boot
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App

Yeah, it was attempted a week or two ago.

I saw some advertising for the Thunderbolt that listed Skype Video as a feature. Wonder if anyone has tried pulling the apk to see if it will work on other devices. I would really like to get it going on my G-Tab.

Is it not easy to malipulate to work? Or to big? Cause I've played with the dumb and got stuff out of it. It's huge lol.

Battery Charge Fix.

I ran across this in the Desire forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=841580
ms79723 has been hard at work implementing this fix for our EVOs. Follow his work in his thread over in the development forum.
awesomeness.
that is all.
Will it work for evo
What we been looking for.
Please bring this to our Evo.
Ed
This would be awesome for the EVO!
God yes. Please do this net.
Sent from the void...
Looks promising.....
This is pretty important. Bump.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Absolutely Necessary! Bump!
This is great. I'm sure the evo will have it in no time at all. Probably in. Zip form too.
Well..I'm pretty sure I found out the line of code in our kernels where we could apply this fix. Unfortunately for me, I have no idea how to compile the kernel after adding the stuff in.
Bump for great justice!

One more bump

Seems smart...
Good stuff!
Sent from my HTC Evo
Hopefully this is seen by a developer on here and its implemented. We definately need this.
This would be awesome if it works...I've I'm not mistaken I thought something along these lines had already been tried on the Evo. (can't find when searching though) Don't get me wrong I hope not and I hope this makes a difference. I am getting a little tired of carrying the 2 extra batterys around with me.
Been waiting on this kind of fix . This would make it stay on 100%much longer after charging like my tp2 did. That instant drop to 85 or 90 bugs the holy bajesus outta me
I'm trying to compile this damn kernel with the fix but i can't seem to get it to work >.< This is ridiculous
Edit: Finally got this damn thing to work. Well..compile..Now i have to figure out how to make this boot.img
Great idea. Would make a lot of people including me happy

Community support?

I know this is another GalaxyS device, but it seems that there really isnt any interest for it in the community. Does the ticker screen cause enough compatibility issues that we most likely wont see Cyanogen or anything for it? What about support from Samsung, are we likely to fall behind the curve for 2.2 release?
Iv had it for a few days and I love the formfactor, but Im considering swapping it for a fascinate for the modability. Any opinions?
There is currently no support from the developer community, but all it takes is one good dev and we'll be in business. There's really no way of knowing if 2.2 will lag behind, since no US Galaxy S phones have gotten the update yet... Only time will tell on both I'm afraid.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
Samsung has began releasing the 2.2 update in certain countries from what I've read. So it should only be a matter of time before the USA gets it. The update will come via Kies I believe (Samsung's update software for PC).
As for custom ROMs for the Continuum, I believe development may be slow for this phone due to the ticker display. The ticker makes it more difficult to develop for. However, I'm confident we'll get some custom ROMs at some point. I'd be really nice if Samsung skipped 2.2 and went straight to 2.3 but that'll never happen.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
One of the first things we are going to need is a custom recovery to be able to backup/restore the phone. I suspect this will take someone loaning their phone to koush in order to get clockwork recovery and rom manager support. I know I am leery to try anything without having a way to restore, even if I have to restore to default.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
Yeah a stock ROM would be excellent. There will be plenty of people who delete necessary apps with root access even before custom ROMs are available.
Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
Well we're gonna need a custom recovery first, so that is one of the bigger issues.
Sent Koush a tweet asking what he would need and offered my phone for a period of time. I still have my D1 I can use.

Sent from my SCH-I400 using XDA App
Glad to see the Continuum Forum up and running! I know very little about development and such, but I'm open to testing out things. I'll be following the threads here as much as possible.
I was thrilled with the idea of this phone when it was released, but the limits on the ticker make it nearly unusable (no gmail? and Samsung's e-mail app is horrible).
I was thinking about returning it, but with the new found forum here on XDA, my hope is renewed.
Ok so, I've given it the mmost time I was willing not to say anything, but Can we please get an update or 2? PLEASE!!!!!! It's killling me!!!!!!

No throttle and no clock for liberty 1.5

Here's a link for no throttle an no clock for 1.5, I know a lot of people are using the ones for 1.0 without issues but since some people are reporting problems I decided to wait till I found this....

Hope it helps. Enjoy!
Edit: props go to bouchigo
entrance not for everybody, for madmen only
will this work if i install the gingerbread theme?
I believe so, if the clock does reappear just apply it again. But I don't think the themes effect the service.jar file.

i guess ill try on gingerbread if it doesnt seem to work ill flash back to liberty mod and reflash the throttle zip

What does "pwn" mean? I ask because whatever it is they will most likely be doing it to me since I use way more data then that. And sorry for the ignorance but not long ago I thought trolling was just looking for girls or hanging out under a bridge. I had no idea it meant provoking people in forums. Still don't understand why they don't call it instigating or being an instigator.

To pwn. Google it...it's funny to see some of the explanations but, long story short, it's short for owned as in going to defeat you, ass handed to you, etc. LoL...it came from gamers playing WoW as a typo for the word own, just stuck since.
You phrase " I thought trolling was just looking for girls or hanging out under a bridge. " Epically priceless !!

Probably not, its replaces the services.jar file for for the droidx running liberty 1.5. I'm. Not sure that the d2 has the throttle built in like the dx does. Even if it does the services.jar file is most likely different.

Honeycomb on the Inc

another reason why our phone (and the devs) are awesome
Looks nice, thanks for the heads up.
The gentleman in the video had actually posted up a thread about it on the forum about a week ago and for some reason the admin's shut it down pretty quickly......
Does anybody know where to get the zip file for this port?

So, not sure what I did wrong, but when I try to instal OMHC, it won't allow me to. Running Gingerbread based Recovery, ClockworkMod. Is this something that can be worked around, or no?
Is it CWM 3.0?? I know a bunch of things have issues with that recovery.

Agreed. He's awesome. No ones perfect. I personally don't care about all of the drama, I just care about how the ROMs.

And back to trying toto help the Guy who made this thread. Are you using version 3.0 recovery?
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
For what it is worth, I can state that this will install using recovery 2.5.0.5, as I just got done doing so.
Yep, i've reverted back as far as ROM manager allows and so far so good with backing up any ROM and flashing any ROM
As far as this Honeycomb port goes, I wish I had this on my Gtab. Obviously needs some work, but wow this is a 10 on the cool factor. Who cares who did it or not, these Dev's deserve mad respect for their time and hard work. I actually approached the dev for a port on the Gtab and he says he's been trying, but still no luck. As an owner and avid Gtab forumster, I can say that many people on the Gtab forums would consider this guy a god if he were successful on porting this over.
Everybody chill out about the drama and give props where it's due. This is awesome news and fantastic work.
Yes, it is. Is there another recovery I could use?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yea go into rom manager and at the bottom it has older recoveries use a 2. whatever one.
flashed for a little but forgot to install gapps. pretty useless right now most stuff doesnt work. along with the bad lag its also pretty hard to navigate since its made for a tablet. things are really small and the mouse has to be moved with the toggle which is a pain in the ass among many other things. might go back to it and try gapps just for ****s and gigs. otherwise useless. will be cool when the bionic comes out and a port comes to that.

Waiting for root? Get involved!

I know there are a lot of anxious people out there like myself who are stuck without root and S-ON. I have been setting up my SDK and the kitchen over the last few weeks ( I have kids ). If you want to get involved, here is a quick reference to what I have found recently. What I miss most *now* about not having root is the ability to test my own ROMs on my own EVO.

I don't get all the fuss. Taking an OTA update loses root. No secret there. Were a bunch of people so interested in the official GB that they didn't want a day for a rooted rom?
There are those who lost root due to receiving replacement phones and there are those that are new to the evo and received their phone loaded with the update.

I totally agree. I know that fits my situation. My phone should be out on the truck for delivery today. Got my fingers and toes crossed it has an older build on it.
Regarding this post though. Very good idea and I really hope some people that can get this done chime in. Root is desperately needed back to the Evo.

As it stands......no, too many differences between the devices, however it may lead down the right path to unlocking the OG Evo. Believe me, I'm following it (I have a 3D & my wife just got a refurb warranty OG Evo with the update).

Was wondering if any dev has tried to work this issue from the hardware side. Instead of using C++ or Visual or other languages, trying this thru Assembler language. I am a computer programmer but I have not done any work with HTC phones because of job, but I do have some ideas that I would love to share if anyone is interested.

I'm interested. Please feel free to post or PM me with your thoughts. But, I have to imagine the OS still maintains some degree of control (if it's even possible to compile and execute assembly programs in Android). I'm afraid there's probably a reason no one else has done that . Thanks!
