I'm willing to accept advice, and criticism so be gentle. So I got put the froyo build on my htc hd2 and everything ran smoothly until I tried to make a call. Their was a robotic voice instead of a regular one(I know this is a common problem).
I've read many guides on installing the froyo build but I'm not very good with this stuff and I rather have some explain to me step by step what to upload to fix it and how to run it on my Leo.
My current specs(while using WinMo):
RAM size:576 MB
Flash Size:1024 MB
Data Bus:32 Bits
ROM Version:2.13.531.1(90963)WWE
Radio Version:2.10.50.26
If needed I can post more specs, but yeah I just need direction in fixing the robotic voice. Please and thank you!
So you're using an sd build then? Try rebooting the build several times. SD builds need to be rebooted several times for them to stabilize.
If it is a NAND build, then each one should have specific instructions on how to fix the robotic voice, eg darkstone's super ram has specific instructions on how to fix robotic voice in his build.
Sometimes changing the radio fixes it, but that has never worked for me, i just kept on restarting until it was gone.
Some reports of WM roms being the case too. Sadly i can't remember which WM rom builds are recommended to fix, either way, chucky droid, or those roms built for android should help.
I'm using darkstones build, where are the instructions on how to fix it? Hmm would restarted it work with DS build? And also the phone in general is glitchy/laggy as the buttons react slowly. My last question is about a dual uploader because everytime i reboot it changes back to Windows.
I would recommend changing ROM and radio. If you do a little searching, mskip put out a great beginners guide.
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
I meant if it was a NAND build, meaning if the build was something you installed to phone memory, and not your sd card, he has specific instuctions on how to fix it in his thread.
For sd build, as said, changing radio, winmo rom, or rebooting can fix it.
You mean a dual booter? Just search it up here, it's not hard to find a dual booter and there is plenty. And yes, after you restart, the phone goes back to winmo, it's supposed to be like that.

Sorry to start a new thread but I've tried and tried again to follow some of the instructions with no success.
I have a standard TMOUS HD2 with HSPL but with stock
ROM: 2.13.531.1 (90963) WWE
Radio: 2.10.50.26
A how to would be nice, I've followed HD Geek's How-To, but I'm unsure if it was meant for TMOUS becuase I've not been able to get passed what looks like a locked screen with backlight on after flashing Android Rom. And when I do softreset, because it freezes at lock screen with backlight, my Sense time will no longer update and my emails disappear. Any help would be appreciatted.
if sense is giving you problems in winmo after you reboot from android try formatting your sd card. i had the same issue where sense wouldn't load and various other problems and after a quick format everything worked just fine. while it's no requirement to get a custom rom it does help though. stock winmo is just not as good as it could be.
also if you get the screen of death try hitting the rest button on the back of the phone and loading it again, after one or two times of doing this it usually will fix itself.
what flavor of android are you using?
Using hd2 as daily driver
First, you need to use a microsd card that is at least a class 4 or above. You need to format it fat32, full format and not a quick format.
Second, you need to download tarantula's v1.2 Android image
Thirs, get the latest cotulla zImage from http://cotulla.pp.ru/leo/Android/Cotulla_zImage_VOLUME_SR_AUD.rar
Put them all together and you have a fully functioning android phone.

I'm running [BUILD][03.08.2010] (Android 2.2. Froyo) reformatted card again but still having issue with sense after boot. Will try a higher class card tomorrow. Thanks for the advise
Make sure you also flash a custom rom. there are many reports that the default HD2 rom causes errors with the android running.
Hi, this is my first post on this forum so first of all I would like to appolagise for all the things I've either just done wrong, or am about too....
I am trying to install android on to my phone, I am on the stock rom but have succsesfully installed HSPL3 and radio version 2.11.50.20.
I have tried a few builds of Android but allways have one of 2 results.
Once I've run clrcad followed by harlet, it tells me I'm booting to linux. The screen then goes black, it runs about 8 lines of code, stops there and changes to a black screen with a green HTC. Where it remains indefinatly.
A friend with anouther HD2 has android working fine on his device, and altho he has a custom rom he tells me its not essential, as ive read up on the potential risks I would rather stick with the stock but will change if thats whats causing the problem.
I would really appreciate some suggestions, thanks in advance for your time and help.
Peter
forgot to add, the second result is the screen going blue indefinatly, which I presume from my extensive knowledge.........lol is a blue screen of death
upgrade your radio, im on 2.12.50, and the newest is 2.15.50
also, try a modded windows mobile rom, i use standard energy with no issues.
also, make sure you only have that one android build on your SD card. and that it's a new build, not an ancient one. (check http://android.hd2roms.com/)
you shouldnt have any more issues.
Thanks for the advice, unfortunatly before seeing your post I uprgraded too chuckeys rom, not energy, but get the exact same error... Leads me to beleive the problem is elsewhere. Will keep trying tho hope its worth it.
Jai meme problme mon rom est miri hd2 v_18.0 wwe ? Radio 2.15.50.14 ?
Same problem here, tried to change my wm rom and didn't work. I'm looking tonight if I can find a solution...
A little disclaimer
I will not be for any damage that may be caused to your device, HSPL remove warranty so be carefull. Don't forget to have more than 50% of battery remaining before the process !
So, maybe here is the solution:
I've try again with differents roms, changing my wm rom etc. and nothing works.
But, at the end I've change my radio rom to Leo_RADIO_2.12.50.02_2 found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611787
Then installed Chucky GTX Lite rom found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=618787
And to finish I've installed the bootloader and download MDJFroYoRevolution 1.4 with android 2.2
I've use the 512 Data img too (just unzip your MDJFroYoRevolution, take the 512 or 1Go file and put this file on your Android root.) isn't necessary but takes less time to work first time.
After that still not working so I managed to try to remove all files from my sd card (2Go only) and I put on ONLY MDJFroYoRevolution 1.4+512Mo Data img !
Then after 10mn~ it works !
I think the bug is only because sd card haven't enough space to create all files so the HTC logo stuck and no error message appear.
Don't forget to install the bootloader on your memory internal storage! and not the on the sd card!
Good luck everyone and I hope it will help.
ps: sorry for my english hope you understand anything
Having the same problem here. I've tried different versions of WM, different Android builds, updated the latest radio rom, all without success.
Strange thing is though that Android boots the first few times, but after resetting it more than about three times it gets stuck on the black screen with the HTC letters in the middle. The only way to get it running again is reformatting my SD card (8G). Only thing on it is the Mdeejay Froyo Sense v2.3 Clean...
Solution for the freeze screen after second boot
I put android not in the root directory but in a \Android directory on the SD CARD.
of course, I add set cmdline "rel_path=Android" in the Startup.txt file and now i can reboot my phone when i want.

Always use the custom winmo Rom sugested by the Android Builder. Simple as. The myth of "Stock ROM will be sufficient" should end

Not true. I've installed on a couple of peoples HD2's using the latest stock WWE rom with radio 2.15. It does work, and it works very well.
I'm not saying you shouldn't use custom roms, that is everyone's prerogative (as you can see from my sig I use VBN's rom and it's perfect for me).
Try to move a folder called Android from sd card to another folder or delete it and it should help. It worked in my case. Good luck!
has someone hear find an answer?
given up
I have tried many combos and radios and still stucked at green htc loading logo now i am just hoping for nand. strange thing its the volume down and end does not bring bootloader anymore.
I recently downloaded Darkstone's most recent SD build of Android which is working fantastically, except for that when I reboot the phone, it boots back into Windows Mobile, not Android. Is this an intended result? Or am I just failing all over the place? I searched for answer and couldn't find one, unless I worded it wrong somehow.
Thanks!

never heard of this issue though you may try some other builts which at this time are going great in nand built
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=908528
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=918899
and see if you are facing any probs and which hd 2 are using euro or t mobile1024
You missed the 'SD' part of his post. Gremlin - rebooting into WinMo is to be expected with SD or RAM builds, you have to then start Android again each time.
If you want to be really brave you can flash the 'permanent' memory of your phone with a NAND build so it will boot into Android each time.
Hi,
I've been on Android 2.2 for a while now, and decided to give others a go.
I've changed to multiple different Android Gingerbread and MIUI roms, and on each one i cannot make a call!! This is what happens:
-The first call i make after turning on the phone has sound but it is like robotic sound so you cannot make out what the other person is saying!
-After this first call, any other call i make it will dial and the other person will receive me calling them, but i cannot hear anything, it's just blank, and they cannot hear me either.
What is the problem here? I haven't seen anyone else with this problem but on Android 2.2 i do not have the problem.
Cheers

really? you haven't seen any reference to robot voice at all? even though practically every rom has suffered / suffers from it until recently? and its mentioned all over? (Sorry, couldnt resist 43 thousand results on "hd2 robot voice" in google )
after a fresh flash, make a call, anything will do, switch on the loudspeaker, switch off the loudpeaker, hang up. Problem should be gone until next flash.
Ive also seen reference to turning off audible touch tones but the above method has always worked for me, so i never investigated.
Yes perhaps the robot voice call, but not the afterwards bit where i cannot hear anything at all!!
Ok so i should make the 'robot' first call, wait till answer, switch on loudspeaker, switch off loudspeaker and hang up? I'll try it later on and get back to you.

Hehe I was ignoring the second part in the hope that it's an effect of not clearing the robot bug and will hopefully go away once you try the above.
Firstly as stated "robot voice" is a rediculous topic to create about and you obviously havent even bothered to use search before creating this topic. Remember 99.9% of all questions/issues you can have etc have already been asked and resolved in some way or another and its best to first have a little research. We all need to create help topics now and again but its much better to bring the info to yourself then to create a topic and wait.
Second, which ROM are you currently on, Which Radio do you currently have? Are you running from SD or NAND?,
My guess would be to try a different radio, Preferably 2.15.
Another thing you can try is doing a completley clean install, ie doing Task29 and properly formatting your SDcard, anything less will leave residual files on nand and card. Use Panasonic SDFormatter with full/overwite format and size adjustment on.
To make thinsg easier for you get the HD2 tools 3.9 that is in sticky in nand section.
I am on android 2.2 and it works fine but if i change to say 2.3.3 it does it.
When i have updated my radio and im ready to put the new ROM on, can i just use full data wipe in AD Recovery before installing the rom from sd, will this be good enough?
And could anyone show me where to get the newest Radio file
ps when i run NAND Android 2.2 the calling is fine, but when installing the MIUI or Gingerbread rom i want with Recovery from SD card, it does this problem.

If you are having these sorts of issues with various roms you need to do exactly as I said.
Clean install, task29, FULL format sd card and then start over.
Download the HD2 NAND Tools.
Device:
Put device into bootloader
flash task29
Put back into bootloader
flash magldr
SDCard:
Load SDFormatter
FULL Format/ERASE
Size Adjustment ON.
im really new to all this i don't understand how to do that?
You want me to install 'task29' to the computer then how do i full format SD?? Start over from what? Im very new to it
I have MAGLDR113 and can access the boot screen and do usb flasher etc
a step by step guide would be very appreciated.
My friend had someone locally install magldr, and androind 2.3.2 on his phone. The ROM used isn't the greatest. Keeps crashing the phone, won't allow GPS to lock and a few other issues.
He asked me to re-ROM the phone with another, more stable ROM. The first ROM I found for the phone listed "GPS lock within 5-20 seconds" sounds like they fixed a few issues.. but the problem is every guide on how to load a ROM onto the phone starts from using WM.
How do I go about replacing the ROM?
Are there any good, well known rom's that I should be using?
Any and all help is appreciated.

All ROMs nowadays are good, but I would advise MIUI or CM7. Gingerbread Sense ROMs are not perfect yet (but they are very close! Still try them if you want).
As for the guide, I found this one very good.
Problem. I followed those steps buy magldr isn't able to locate the zip on the sd card. Tried the HTC sense ROM. Any suggestions?
Tried a different ROM. It installed successfully. There's no data available, mms's aren't receiving and GPS isn't locking.. going to keep trying different roms until one does the trick.
I used the HTC Sense stock ROM. I'm going to try another one, i'm guessing these issues are all driver related.

Try a generally more stable/reliable ROM such as Typhoon CM7. This may help, as Sense + Gingerbread is still not all that great IMO (some may find it OK, I simply don't)
I'll give that a try, thanks.
Here is something to read for you.
Follow the steps, run Task29...clean everything...Install Magldr then install CWM.
From there you have to be able to flush almost any ROM using CWM.
