[Q] link in app to other apps in the market - Android Software Development

I want to have an "upgrade" button in the lite versions of some of my apps that will direct the user to the full version on the market place. How would I do this? (assuming that I want to put the code in the area of where a button gets pressed)
Thanks

Does a market:// link not work?
You can put this as a button action
see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4189796/android-market-app-link
or http://android.bigresource.com/Track/android-9xt3ZRHGY/

I tried that stuff and it just crashes in the emulator and wont even install on a real device now

Intent intent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW,Uri.parse("http://market.android.com/details?id=your.package.name"));
startActivity(intent);
If the other examples dont work, you can try this one ^^^

There are two ways :
1) Open your app drawer and hold down the application, and it will attempt to move it to your screen (make sure you have space).
2) Long press (hold down) a blank area on one of your homescreens and follow the menus.

Don't know about screenshot (w/o root), but for resigning the camera button, there is a Button Shortcut app in the Market.

[Q] Does anyone know the search button long press intent?

does anyone know which intent gets broadcast when the search button is long pressed on the Droid X? It isn't the standard android.intent.action.SEARCH_LONG_PRESS that gets sent on most phones...
I believe HomeSmack catches this.. might be worth contacting the dev through the market and asking.
EDIT:
Just noticed dev has a thread for the app here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=827288
Excerpt:
[email protected] said:
HomeSmack allows you to change your default Home or default Long-search app. It's similar to Home Switcher or Home Manager, but uses a method of selecting the default that works well with Android 2.2.
HomeSmack also has some special Motoblur features (that need more testing, hence posting to the Droid X subforum)! On rooted phones it lets you change the double-tap app to any app on your phone (QuickDesk or Powerstrip!) and it lets you install a patched VoiceSearch APK that:
1) Sends the standard android SEARCH_LONG_PRESS intent letting you select any normal long-search app.
2) Still lets you select VoiceSearch as the long_search app or use it normally from Launcher
3) Patches the security flaw noted here (http://www.androidcentral.com/droid-2-bug-allows-anyone-make-calls-passcode-screen)

if i press the home button nothing happens. is there any way to solve my problem (without losing any data?)
a coworker of mine had the same issue today. I'm just reposting the link from another website, since I typically come to xda to find answers to stuff like this... either manually type this into your ANDROID browser, or if you could somehow make it to this page from your phone, just click this link... from your phone lol
market://search?q=pnamerg.adw.launcher
it is the direct adwlauncher link to the android market!
hope this helps! =)

Then why not post in that thread?? No need to create a new thread if one already exists on your exact issue.

You have been a member of XDA for quite sometime surely you are capable of using the search button rather than create a brand new thread?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191626
lol thxxxx for the tip, wasn t searchnig the right words (hard to be french)
after reading the topic, don t see anybody talking about long press on back button = kill current app, #confused
Another mod which works but your phone needs to be rooted.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2200369
i ve seen this one already but same it seems that long press = menu action not killapp
Surely double tapping on the home button is quite intuitive though? I think the mod you are after would mess up the long press back for menu (sorry I misread your first post).
dbl tap on hop open recents app (so far on mine) and longpress does nothing, here the trick is to create the menu app that is gone, not the killer task button. no rpob, we read all too many lines per day

Good Lock - Finally Pie Support!!!

Head over to the Galaxy Apps Store and update from Good Lock 2018, to just regular Good Lock and experience the customization we've missed so much in Pie!!!
All apps got updated and working?

Most, task changer will be available at later date (I guess when they release the version for S10, right now it's not supported). The multiwindow extension (multistar) is bringing back:
1) swipe from corner to pop-out
2) the menu between two split screened apps
3) two apps running at the same time, that way your game won't be paused when you open browser/viber/something from the gametools menu
Hope they bring back easier way to fast split screen tho as right now if I wan't to split screen the current app (in my use case mostly youtube) it will pause the video + when you call recents it always auto move to the previous app, so I need to swipe, then press the icon, then split screen, then the other app I want, then resume video... too much time needed vs the previous "hold, select app - done, no video pausing, no waiting, no nothing". Maybe when recent task changes is released we will get something... we will see. For now we got atleast some of the functionality back.
Task Changer was available for me, but Routines gives me an error saying "Product is not available in this store." (I'm in Canada).
Neither Task changer nor Routine were available for me but installed, and are working fine, from apkmirror
Couldn't find it on the galaxy stored and downloades the apk. But I'm just getting this when I open it. Is there any way to get passed? I'm guessing that my region is not supported, or something...

Good Lock itself doesn't work for me either (region not supported), but I can run all plugins from here with QuickShortcutMaker.

Soliciting some help... I've installed all apk's I need, creating shortcuts w/ Activity Manager, except for Quickstar. I'm able to create a shortcut for it but it doesn't work (ie. the app doesn't open when running the shortcut). The app runs though when running it from within Activity Manager. Anyone have an idea how to fix this? Solved!

Routines is not showing at all in Good Lock. I even side loaded it and it will not show up.
Task changer/routines is also available now. If side loaded, the "good lock" app will give network error and will not work. You should create a shortcut for every plugin via "activity manager, shortcut maker app of some kind". Then open them directly. For the task changer, if you change it to one of the alternatives - it will let you hold a card to split screen or pop-out + when you open recents it will NOT pause your activity like playing youtube or playing a game, that way you can pop-out something without pausing anything or split screen with youtube while it's playing - really a nice one.

Like what? Haven't noticed any so far.
For people with region not supported, the vpn trick still fully work. First, uninstall if you are sideloaded the app. Next, eject your sim n reboot. Connect to wifi and use vpn to US like tunnelbear. Go to app info of galaxy store and clear data. Open the galaxy store and update/install latest good lock. Open good lock and update all the apps. Then you can reinsert sim card and turn off vpn while setting up the apps
"App is no longer available" is all I get...
Does anyone else drop the colors in Quickstar? They seem to disappear randomly and I gave to reapply them. It's quite annoying.
