Unfortunately both my tab and i9000m cannot playback these wav files. I get an "unsupported file type"
Anyone know why or if you know how to make it work?
thanks

i'm looking for a good program to assign custom sms tones to individual contacts. wm5 doesn't support it, i've used mortring. it seemed to work for a while but then started glitching and would cause an error message and play the default sound rather then the custom one. Ringo worked pretty well but it was kinda laggy and i didn't feel that it was good enough to buy. any recomendations? i'd prefer free solutions cause this is a simple feature that should have been available in WM5 to begin with. Thanks.
What about custom ring tone for voice mail?
I wanted to change my default notification to the AOL "You've got mail" mp3 file I have. I don't see an option for that on my xv-6700 wm5 device!
try "ringo"

just copy the file to your windows directory and it will appear in the notification list for you to change it

Ringtones are generally .mp3 format whilst alarms are wav. format
Create a copy of ringtone you want to use and change it to .wav and you'll be able to use this for sms
do a search for a small program called ringo moibile, that will let you asign any ringtone for any function in your pnoe
thanks for the help..i have converted the mp3 to wav .
and placed it in the ringtones folder.
but it still can not see it .. to use it as incoming text message ....?
i have looked for ringo mobile...but says its not compatable with my phone...

.wav files don't go into ringtones folder to be picked up, they generally go into /windows along with all the other .wav files
I believe there are other apps out there if you search which can also do this. Go to the apps forum and try searching there.
ok thanks again...
is there an app that will allow me to look into the windows folder or how to access it on my phone..
sorry about all this..im new to the htc phones.
that is what i am using with the htc hd ( blackstone) and it works no prblem at all

ive mostly got it sorted.....lol
im just playing about with it now ..
i think its miles better than an i-phone.
once again thanks for the help.
how the hell do you send multiple files through bluetooth. its not possible to do this. i can only send one file then i have to send the other. i wan to highlight say 3 music tracks and send them using bluetooth. but it dont let me. any help
Go into Settings tab > menu > all settings > bluetooth. Click right hand tab, select BT Send Object. Select Audio, highlight the files you want, press SEND.
And be glad you don't have an iPhone, which can't even send one file over bluetooth.
thanks man
Hi i had a question. can you send .CAB files over bluetooth? how can we do this?

Well I think you could have tried this, it is very obvious.
In file manager, tap & hold the file and select "Send via Bluetooth".
well, you can create a zip archive using any free tool and send them, I'm currently looking for an app that enables sending multiple files, but I only found old ones that support infra red >.>
it's helpful for sending multiple objects that don't appear in the BT send object menu
[edit] Resco File explorer apparently sends multiple files via bluetooth (sending different types of files at the same time as well), but it's a paid app
Use Dropbox
I've found a workaround... I send multiple photos to dropbox then cut/paste them from dropbox to whatever folder I want. That way I don't use up the allotted space with dropbox. Works for me!
I want to set my own tone for my messages. I have had the mobile just and a week and I am to tired to sit and find it myself, I have tried but just end with a migraine...........
I am also wondering what the term "rooting" means? PLEASE EXPLAIN....
only way to set a tone for messages is to download a ringtone client from the market or when your connected to computer is to manuelly put music tracks in the defualt message tone folder, there is a app called "ringtone" that you can load your mp3 track in to and cut down to use the part of the tone you want to use,

Create a ringtones folder in sd card. All the ringtones listed in this will be listed. Else install handcent from market.

What sort of files are you trying to send? There are certain files it can't send over Bluetooth. Pictures, videos and books etc should be fine to send.
