DL09 backlight help - Fascinate General

So when I first flashed dl09 all I had to do was touch my screen to unlock it and the 4 buttons at the bottom would light up. I just flashed a new theme and now I have to physically touch the buttons to get them to turn on. I even flashed back to the previous theme when they worked and I didn't have any luck, any body have any ideas to fix this? Drives me insane that I have to hit the menu key just to see my buttons.

Can I ask what theme you flashed to make this happen? I'd love to stop the captive button backlights from turning on every time I touch the screen. Annoying as hell if you ask me!

help please? brightness is stuck at 0. extended control power widget

hey i downloaded extended control power widget. and when i pressed the brightness button. the screen went black and touch doesnt seem to respond (tried tapping the same place to bring it back...)
the phone is still awake as i can hear lock sounds and such. but i cant get brightness back up at all.
is there a way to fix this? i would assume adb or something
or possibly a script i could load on reboot into android?
Try holding your phone under a very bright light and play a little with the angle. You should see your widgets. This fixed it for me
Try this:

Streak Touch Response Messing Up

This just started yesterday but the bottom of my screen (the side where the serial port is) seems to be less responsive than normally. When I go to click to respond to a text message I find myself having to press it repeatedly. Sometimes the whole screen becomes un-responsive or if I click up top it will actually make a response at the bottom. Could this be at all due to an app or something I installed? Because normally when I put it on standby (pressing the power button once) and turn it back on it will fix it all but the unresponsive bottom section for texting only. Does this make sense to anyone why this could be happening?
Just having touch problems all together
i keep pressing the screen so many timees... even tried to restart and take the battery out. but still same problems
any help
Thanks
Try recalibrating the touch screen guys, that might help. Also if you have a screen protector on, try removing it, I found my first one got more unresponsive over time.
I dont like screen protectors for that very reason and dont use them. But where is the screen recalibration? I've looked and looked for it since this started happening. It's half way working now and really just varies. So if there is a way to calibrate I really feel like that would fix it. Thanks!!

yeah mine did that and calibration fixed it.
power it off, hold down both volume buttons and power it on, holding down all three until the menu appears.
Choose option 3 and away you go!
hth....
Haha, this completely fixed it!!! I'm so excited right now becaus I was terrified I did something to it. It works perfectly again. Thank you guys so much!!!

Keyboard...

My keyboard doesnt light up. Whats up with that. I cant see to type on it. Kind of sucks

* I guess i should be more specific. I know that the keyboard lights according to the display brightness. But even if i turn it all the way up, it doesnt light. I need it to...
Sometimes if your keyboard/soft keys don't light up if you shut the screen of with the power button and then unlock it the lights will come back on. I've had this happen before it's just a little glitch

What he said. Mine does this most after reboots. Just turn screen off and on and it should start working again.

Capacitive buttons on Gingerbread?

I had to replace the LCD and Digitizer on my Atrix and after fixing it, found that the phone wouldn't vibrate. I didn't think I'd really care about the loss of vibration but finally decided to take it apart again and try to get it working. Anyways, long story short, my phone vibrates now on phone calls and keyboard presses but the capacitive Android buttons don't have haptic feedback. Was this removed in the Gingerbread update or am I just missing vibration there?
I'd go to the AT&T store to compare but I figure it's way more convenient to just ask here.
Thanks in advance!
They have haptic feedback under OTA GB for me.
Check to see if it isn't turned off under Menu ->Sound.

[Q] Power Button Mod

I'm having a hard time distinguishing between the power button and the volume buttons by mere touch/feel. (I have the Verizon version). I keep pushing the power button when I want volume and vice versa. I use knock-knock a lot, but sometimes I don't want to have to go back to a home screen just to turn the display off. Anyone else share this frustration? I was thinking of buying some skateboard grip tape, cutting a tiny square, and placing it on the power button. Thoughts on a physical mod to the power button?

Putting a case on made it a lot easier to find the buttons, and hit the right one. Without a case I had to flip it over every time. I feel like the back location of the buttons is basically OK, but the Verizon design change made them really hard to find by touch. Having them recessed inside a case really does help though.

have you thought about putting a little drop of epoxy glue on the power button? it would give your finger something to feel for...

Honestly this frustrated the crud out of me at first. the TPU case does help to find the buttons in general, But after using mine for a week and a half im starting to develop muscle memory and am looking or pressing the wrong button less and less. I think a couple more weeks and it will be a non issue.

I completely agree about the home button, but you can knock knock on the status bar from anywhere to turn off (don't need to go to home screen).
Yo u can double tap the status bar to turn it off..

Ah! I didn't know about the double tap on the status bar. This phone has so many cool hidden features. Thank you. I think I'm going to try that epoxy idea too. ✌

If you have nova prime, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2441027&highlight=nova shows how to re-enable the knock-knock to turn off on the screen instead of reaching for the sbar, works perfect for me.

Can also be done with Nova and Tasker if you already have it.
I've been looking for a way to lock the screen while in an app since I got the phone. The double tap in status bar will be huge.
Is there a list of all the shortcuts LG included somewhere? Doesn't make much sense to develop them and the not tell anyone about them.
I found an awesome solution for this. I've been reading a few threads about LMT launcher, so I decided to give it a try. You can get it from here. (Under settings>Set gesture input...choose #2). I setup my pie controls to swipe from the right side of the screen. In LMT settings, In PIE tab select your pie piece and then under advanced command options choose KEY and enter the number 26. Now when you press the word KEY in your pie shortcuts it'll turn off the screen. Works great!
Yea I know what you mean OP, lots of times I am just looking for the volume button and can't tell the difference.. quite annoying
I don't want to cover up the small light ring (which Verizon made smaller) so maybe epoxy glue is best idea
