[Problem} My Streak's home button does not work

As the title says, my touch 'home' button on the Streak does not work anymore. I have the Texas Beta Streak and while using it, it just decided not to work. Maybe I will root and flash the phone to see if that resolves anything.
Has anyone else had this happen?

After several restarts and severe vibrations, I pulled the battery and everything appears fine. Jenn from StreakSmart did a write-up on the random vibrations she expirienced from the Streak.

Going on two days now, the home button appears fully functional. I believe Android 1.6 is the culprit! I just hope Dell's team of 8 developers for this phone knows what they are doing.

Had you changed the default launcher to something else? Or using a task kilter that killed home?
I noticed that long press home didn't work when using adw.launcher without the normal home working in the background

Screen is blinking/flashing when I turn on the wifi

I need some solution for my problem.. When I turn on wifi on my device, screen always start blinking.. It looks that there is some problem with the energy for the screen, or some interferacing from the radio.. I can do just one thing against that, I put brightness on maximum.. Its help, but the battery is killed earlier.. HELP ME PLEASE

Vibration Loss

Please some onr save us, I believe am not the only 1 with problem. I updated my bestbuy streak build 6601- 1.6 to O2 build 8105 a few hours later no vibration. What gives? any help will appreciated. Thanx

In 2.2 you can disable or enable haptic feedback. Check your sound settings and go to the button and check your haptic feedback.

thanx borijess but iv done that a 100 times over even tried reseting to factory twice, the haptic box is checked, my volume is on maximum but still nothing even when it rings no vibration. if i update to 2.2 will it force it back on??

Oh you still on 1.6? I had a problem with 1.6 where vibration would stop working but a reboot would fix that or just waiting would get it working. You could try and update to 2.2 to see if it starts working again. If not the vibration could of went bad. I would try 2.2 first.

I had the same problem...it started getting weak and then stopped altogether. I read somewhere that shake the streak vigorously and it will start working again, keep shaking the streak while pressing the volume down button it worked for me.

you guys will never believe what i did to get min e working, I was on it the night browsing when I siddenly got frustrated and hit my streak(sory babe)on the edge of a padded table. I dont recomend this but presto! it was bak. please notwmu table was padded with a baby blanket so am sure most of the shock was absorbed. Merry Xmas guys!

screen frezzes dell streaki

i am on my 4th dell streak. like the phone even with 1.6 but when i get a phone call the screen locks and unable to answer tried everything any ideas

yeah I had that happen to me yestetday too, no idea how or why because right nefore the call I was using my streak to send a text and had just locked it. im running steves 1.6

LOL there are over 20 posts with the exact same thing. You need need to recalibrate ur screen, i had the same problem. Its not that ur screen is frozen its that the phone can't recognize your touch since it been in your pocket.

Screen Freezes

Im on rooted Dell Official 351, and I still have screen freezes. Is anyone else out there having any such issues on an official build? I didnt have any issues like this with my first Streak. Beginning to get pretty frustrated with this nonesense. It especially occurs after a call. No other issues. Still enough to drive you mad.

Hi,
I had this issue only with the official roms. Never so far in the last 6 months on DJ Steve's ROMs.

I think the dialer uses more system resources in the newer Dell builds as I didn't have this issue with build 318 but now it happens every once in a while with build 351. It also seems the light sensor isn't working very well when on a call, because my streak seems to get confused and the screen will stay blacked out when I take it away from my face.

You've done the typical factory reset and then tested, right? You also updated to all of the build 351 files, right?

Mine does the same thing. I have found that it is the heat from your body that locks it up. When talking, keep your cheek away from the screen. When carrying in a pocket, turn the screen so it's away from your body. Mine hardly ever locks up now.

We've discussed this problem befored,the streak's screen is sensitive to heat,humidity(sweat,namely),and electric field.Keep your screen from all these things helps a lot.And recalibration is recommended if problem persist.

I did all the typical stuff you've mentioned here. But as far as updating all the 351 files im not sure I follow. I got the baseband and update file from Manii's index, and I only downloaded the amss, recovery and update files. Should I have downloaded all other files as well? Brings me to another question in regards to qdl tool. In the images folder many of the other file types are listed there. Is this the folder the qdl.exe references? Meaning can I just replace all the files and then run the tool to get to a certain build?

Yup this is a good piece of advice.Another good advice is.....sell it asap,I am also tired of the Streak just because of the stupid sensitive screen.I can't unlock it sometimes.What if I need it in emergency case?

Works for me,I think the streak's screen is good enough as long as you know how to maintain.Probably becuz I had a EVEN WORSE experience with nook color

What happen to your nook?

Have you tried a screen recalibration. It should ne done after any rom update. This solved my screen issues.

HOw do you do the screen calibration? I know its in the fastboot screen but it just has a keypad. What exactly are you supposed to do?
