Is it possible to set a "pin to unlock" screen that only requires the pin to be entered at first boot, as opposed to every time you unlock the phone?
I'm using CM6
Sadly, nope. Not yet, at least, to the best of my knowledge.
You can edit how long it takes before the lock kicks back in.....

Oooh, that's true, I hadn't thought of that. Not quite what he was asking, but if it were set to lock after... Six hours. That should be sufficient.
Yeah, I know it wasn't his exact question but I figured it was a good back up plan ....

WidgetLocker has a setting so you would need to unlock the screen before answering or ignoring the call. not sure if is password enabled.
Best solution I have found thus far has been to insert my phone in my pocket
use the fingerprint scanner and adj settings
or dont have ya girl call when ya wife
is at home

I tried widget locker that doesn't support that feature even talked to developer they gave me refund. Even with fingerprint active it doesn't ask u to scan before answering unless um missing something .. hey gotta get this lock down these women be trying to get in my sh$#...

What is the coolest tweak you know for the Samsung Galaxy S3? I made this thread, so everyone can find out about tweaks that they don't know about - yet. It can be an app or a zip or anything!
I'll start this thread with SGS3 Easy UMS.

Don't see anything wrong about this thread apart from this being a question and in general section. At least it is better than million other ota update threads.

Did you you know if you disable the ripple effect of the lock screen, you get 180MB more RAM. It has to be unchecked even if you disable the swipe lock screen.

Sure mate, also if you take the battery off the s3 is sooo light to bring around.
One of the coolest tweaks is the high luminosity torch in CyanogenMod. It's ExtremelY bright.

i tried that on omega v19 and yes my ram went down 100mb. v20 on the other hand, not at all.
I was just being sarcastic :/
I knew that ripple had to take some memory but both 180 and 100 mb seem an exageraton. BUT, pretty samsung style, i have to admit.
perhaps no mms convert and long hold volume to change songs
charging the battery
The coolest tweak for me is remapping the capacitive buttons lol. I'm easily pleased.

Don't be an ass. I'm trying to help the OP out.
The best tweak in JB is increased available RAM from 773 to 833MB.

This is hard to explain but is there anyway to make my lock screen have the little lock in the bottom instead of the pattern .
You get the little lock when you pull down the clock down. Then when you press the lock the pattern appear to unlock the phone.
I put some picture to explained better

Only way I know is to set the security to swipe instead of pattern.

I done that before and it just does the same. It just has the giant swipe symbol not the small clock

So when you go into the settings/security/screen lock and set it to "slide" you still have a pattern on your unlock screen? Weird. Are you on stock or custom?
I get where you're getting at. No, there is no way to do what you're asking from the stock setup. You'll either have to write some code and mod it yourself or find an aftermarket lock screen app that does what you want.

Hi, i often use reading app like flipboard etc. And i set sleep after 30 sec inactivity in the setting. It gets annoy me when i read some article.
So is there a way or app that makes screen keep on while i am reading some article?
Thanks

Try this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.android.smartscreenonlite
But I believe I've seen app that tracks eye movement to keep the screen on but maybe its only for Samsung devices.
