Saw this one the first time on my device as well..
Thought it was a glitch in the ROM i flashed today (Gauners desire HD) and it was fine after a reboot..

I was wondering if anyone can see this when the screen is turned ON. This is the third HD I've had (the other two were randomly restarting) and they've all had this issue.
I emailed HTC about this and they said its not normal, but surely I can't have the misfortune of having three phones with dud screens? I think its appalling a phone worth this much can have such a glaring issue.

I have this too under certain angles and light conditions. Doesnt bother me at all thou.
I can see it now as I'm typing this - I don't have to look at it an angle (that I could live with), I didn't have it with the Desire or the Nexus, so I don't know why the HD should have it.
If the Desire had more internal memory I'd be going back to that.

Anyone else experience screen blackouts on the desire hd the screen just darkens and starts to grey out and fade till it is all black
in this state when it starts top fade then turning black it is unresponsive to touch.
Presing the power button twice to turned the screen off and on fixes it temporarily till the next time it happens
Not sure if it it's hardware our software related. happened 6 times.this morning.since flashing leedroids latest. Didn't happen before that. Only once in a while on few older roms

I get this on CM7 on boot. So I guess a kernel issue... (but it was there with .32 kernel too).

I started getting this on my HD using CM7.0. Usually after a call. The screen stays blank as if the prox sensor stopped working. Sometimes messing with top button resolves it but often only removing battery fixes it.

Have you tried to remove the battery and replace it again? Maybe it got an loose contact.
How does the power button feel? I heard that it could break sometimes.
Is your phone rooted?
Some more information would be appriciated to get further help.
All the buttons feel normal the phone was rooted but no custom Rom the phone has a silicon cover on it and was haveing the WiFi problem and volume controls worked one week them not.for.weeks after then.back on very strange I have taken the battery out and in all conecter look fine wish stayed with my hd2

If it wont come back on after taking battery on and replacing it, it looks like a return it to HTC job to me
Is there anyway to keep the hardware button lights on with the screen? I find my phone really difficult to use at night.
I haven't found anything to make them stay on for as long as the screen is on, but this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037102&highlight=hd2+toolbox gives you up to 60 seconds if you set it for that time.
Too funny, I have the opposite problem. Every sense rom I have ever run keeps the keypad lights on as long as the screen is on. Running daekins rom with sybrians sense. 35 kernel. One thing you can look into is the build.Prop I don't have the list with me but there is one in there that should do just that.

Hi, I working now with kernell button lights, it will be automatic bassed on darkness and lightness, if room is darken buttons will be automatic on and off if room is lighten (but will keep all other functions like off secconds, auto off...etc)... follow my posts untill I make new kernel

Hello,
I have a problem with my Droid Pro, after few minutes of use on my screen shows random pixels in random order and color, pixels change positions after touch. For disable this problem i have to lock and unlock phon but after few minutes appeared again.
I'm using Vanilalvl CM7 rom.
Did anyone had the same problem? I'm want to know that is a software or hardware problem?

I noticed this as soon as I got my Droid Pro. I think it's an overheating problem. I called my provider, they sent me a replacement phone, but same problem. After a few more calls, I spoke with a tech support guy who knew of the issue and he said it's just a design flaw. By the way, I'm on rooted stock rom.
So I've just gotten used to it and am waiting til I can afford a Nexus 4.
I haven't found this problem on mine,but maybe you could try to use screen test software,it seems not a hardware problem.

Can you give me a name of some test programs. I've already used Screen Test and nothing happens after few minutes of use.
