flash 10.1 on HD2? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

hd2 can have android, wm and wp7... is there flash 10.1 on any on them? i wud think there is flash 10.1 on android? if yes, does it work well?
i want flash mainly for flash games.. not really for videos as there are alternatives for videos

assuming you mean adobe flash 10.1, then you can get it on market for androin, not sure bout wp7

yeah i mean flash 10.1 not flash lite

just found this rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=801607
in the "Moved from system too User Data(easy too uninstall & update):" section, there's "* Adobe Flash Player 10.1.105.6"
that's flash 10.1 right??

atm flash 10.1 can only work with android on the hd2, with froyo/gingerbread builds it works very well.
wm6.5 doesn't support it, wp7 will support it but not yet.

finally the answer i was waiting for
so it does work well? only for videos(even 720p and 1080p youtube vids)? or for games also?

Yes everyrthing works fine if you choose builds well.
normally stock builds are best.
but SD superRAM was actually aweful with graphic processing speed, unplayable games. I am now on Nand stock desire mod(data on sd) its like the fastest and the most stable I have ever had of all android roms.
People say new superRAM on Nand is really super fast. but its so unstable and experimental so I don't include it.
I choose builds really strict it must have harmony of least bugs with fastest speed .
all other ones I found choppy and not so good on my view point.
I was actually disappointed a lot of times downloading other builds which they are saying ultra fast or so, because those actually were really slow in my level of what fast is.

ok thx! watching some youtube vids of flash 10.1 on HD2... there's one vid it said flash 10.1 on HD2 with android 2.1... can't be flash 10.1, must be flash lite right?

final question(srry for all these questions) : does flash 10.1 on hd2 works as well as on a desire phone?

Yeah it does pretty much the same in smoothness etc from what I saw back in my hd2 days

What do you mean ?
Stream is a rom, Froyo is too, so they have same incompatibles libs (like 3D, 3G, or whatever else)
You can't have both at the same time
didnt thought of this ... but there is no ability to combine the two roms? to get the stream on froyo?
no - honestly dude
this is not dragonball z
very bad idea....stream is a bad rom...
Yeah but Stream does have some nice features like Dolby Mobile, great camera/camcorder apps. I can understand him wanting that on FroYo. But yeah does not look likely.

To combine two roms you must say "I take camera from this ROM, I take flash player from that one" etc.
You can't just say "I want both at the same time"
Liquid Community is a hybrid Acer Stream / Liquid ROM. You can select which one you want.
Not Froyo, but it has the cool stuff.

Flash on x10

Hi all,
I'm reading about the rooting of the x10 and possible froyo installs at some point.
The only thing for me at the minute thats missing from the x10 is flash.. Do those that know this kind of thing, think that a flash install will be built for 1.6/2.1 at some point in the future? or is 2.2 the only way I will get flash on the phone..
I'm a noob with Android and while its nice to see people excited about rooting, I don't get the advantage of it?!

I originally thought that too, but I've since found out that flash 10.1 (the one we want) will only run on 2.2 (Froyo) or higher.
So no flash for us in Q3!
The info can be found on Adobe's own site.
I think the only way for us to get it running on the x10 any time soon is through custom ROMs.
I doubt SE will deliver 2.2 for a long while if at all.
That's not true, look at the desire, it supports flash too and runs on 2.1 too. I don't know how HTC has done that. But as far as I know it's flash 10.1 lite

Yeah I used to have a HTC Hero and HTC integrated a version of flash lite (flash lite 3) into its browser too. The hero was on Android 1.5.
Unfortunately though it was hit and miss as it was akin to an older flash version so the sites with the later versions of flash wouldn't play.
Also videos were choppy at best and not fully optimized for the handset. I believe the desire will be similar it uses flash lite 4.
Only the flash 10.1 is akin to what you'd have on desktops/laptops, so you could play videos in browser on the BBC website e.t.c. and have they play well.
In anycase it won't come with 2.1. Thats just something HTC integrate into their own browser, the Sony x10 probably won't get it.
Here is a link to Adobe's press release.
http://www.adobe.com/aboutadobe/pressroom/pressreleases/201006/06222010FlashPlayerAvailability.html
The original confusion was that flash for Android was announced to be released on Android 2x. So we all thought 2.1, it was later confirmed that it was in the 2x series but it was to be 2.2 froyo.
its the BBC that means I want 10 on my x10.. so looking like root and 2.2 when it becomes available.. thanks for input

Me too! it would've been great to watch some of the world cup matches on this thing whilst at work!
Flash Lite 4 is what runs on 2.1, hmmm, I was sure I read that it supported 2.1 on Adobe's site. Well Skyfire 2.1 is out and it handles flash better than Adobe's Flash

I guess it will be possible to get flash lite working on 2.1. However it OS not something we can just install, it was something HTC got working with their handsets.
The difference is that anyone with 2.2 can download 10.1 from the market and install. Flash lite is not readily available (as far as I'm aware)
If anyone has any links e.t.c that are current and state that flash 10.1 (the one we want) will be available on 2.1 could you please post them? Cheers
I tried skyfire but was unable to get the content I wanted to play. Has anyone in the UK got skyfire to work with the world cup or Iplayer?

you can already use USTREAM
sure, but its not the same as having the flash engine installed on the phone!!
There maybe hope yet!!
Whilst searching the net I came across this little gem.
http://www.addictivetips.com/mobile/how-to-install-flash-10-1-on-android-2-1-eclair-devices/
According to this we will be able to install flash 10.1 on our x10 after the 2.1 upgrade. Aside from the fact the performance may not match devices running flash on 2.2, it will work.
----------------------
GUTTED ... just checked this info with the Motorola milestone forum and it appears the info above is not accurate.
Many have tried installing flash and it has not worked. they seem to believe this hack will only work with HTC devices, which are already designed to run flash lite.
Oh well it was fun while it lasted!

there is nothing called best rom over here... so you should probably trie out roms..but just for the sake of helping you out a bit ..i would say that in non sense roms ...i would go for HYPERDROID CM7 ......for SENSE ROM ...I WOULD GO FOR QUALIZ DHD build v1.2
TYFOON with Goluancher!!!
My rom. I'm almost done with it, and it is super fast and super light. It'll give you 1.8gb space for apps, and it is even faster than my cappy. I can play a 1080p youtube video and have 20 tabs open, and it'll be fine. I even played riptide thd with it, and it was super smooth. It has even 1080p video recording.

I installed MIUI by JAGUARALANI (SD VERSION).
This is fast and stable and has a beautiful appearance (IMHO)
Cheers..
If you want MIUI, I think "NDT MIUI Ginger" is a good one.

[Q] Some ROM Suggestions, please.

Hi,
I had flashed a near stock NAND ROM but was constrained on space. Then tried out an SD ROM, still works well, but found it too slow for comfort
Could anyone please suggest a stable, working, daily use (with everything working) NAND ROM with:
1. HTC Sense
2. A2SD
3. Daemon Controller (preferable).
4. Working camcorder and camera without lags.
Believe me, spent a lot of time searching.
I don't care too much about the themes, the stock HTC are good enough for me.
Thanks,
jiggyk
P.S.: If someone could suggest a stable and fast SD ROM having the above (without #2, of course), that too would do and I would be thankful.

All GB Sense ROMs have camcorder bugs, unfortunately, so I don't think there are any ROMs which don't have this. Unless, of course, Froyo Sense is good enough for you. I've found Froyo Sense to be fast, smooth and stable. I would also recommend trying a CM7 ROM (e.g. Typhoon/Hyperdroid) as these are very fast, and can be themed to look like Sense.

Thank You for your prompt reply.
My preference for HTC sense is primarily because it nicely links my facebook, whatsapp, etc. contacts and shows mobile numbers and email addresses of facebook friends far and near who I did not have in my contacts list hitherto.
However, these ROMS you have suggested, do they have A2SD built in? I am also assuming that the camcorder bugs are in the ROMs with sense. Is that correct??

try pyramid rom by langthang,or the 1st haldric rom,u av no need to worry about glitches fix lol as he's the guy who fixes them lol,but at the min im using rcmicx3d rom

To answer your questions, yes (I think) and yes.
For stable version you can try Nexus One Rom by Tytung. The base is ligther and the rom is smooth but other rom also has its advantage.

The pyramid ROM, you mean version 8.0 on this page, right? Version 9.0 is not pyramid based
Any idea if this ROM is based on Android 2.2 or 2.3??

as far as im aware, but im using v4.0,not all apps can go to sd though, its the only prob i can't work out.......e.g: when using pyramid rom with a2sd,i downloaded facebook for android, went to settings and moved it to sd card, now the rom im using has a2sd also cos i go to sd-ext folder and all my downloaded apps are there, but facebook is not possible to move via settings, but if no joy i came across a free app in the market called Link2SD AND ALL THE APPS I CAN'T MOVE VIA APPLICATION/SETTINGS I CAN MOVE USING LINK2SD.........so i'm 1 happy guy lol
also,if u wait till tomorrow,he says 4.1 is being released with glitches fix and less bugs, but have a play with this version,if u like it,download v4.1 when released(fri)
if you want sense with everything working and i mean a camcorder at 800x480 rather than 320 then you will be looking at a froyo based rom not a gingerbread rom
personally i have moved from a sense rom to a miui rom and changed to go launcher ex and am more than happy with it, its alot faster than sense
Team Blue Droid have produced an excellent sense 3.5 Rom which looks the business and works far better than many others I have flashed recently on mh EU HD2. I am not that technically minded regarding SD card partition types, but I run mine via SD card after flasing a 1024 partition using CMR and the accompanying DAF.exe.
From reading many threads I understand camcorder is less than perfect on most roms at highest res.

Thanks for your inputs, everyone!
I had the same problem of all apps not going through to the SD, and the remaining memory would not go over 25-30MB at any time, with a near stock Froyo ROM. (Yes, it is a very fast and stable sense ROM). I think I'll take your advice and wait for 4.1 and then see how it goes, will download it over the weekend. Also this Link2SD thing looks interesting!!
The Team Blue ROM looks very impressive indeed, what with the Daemon Controller and all, but, going through the forum, many have had glitches with the wifi, network, etc. I thought I'd wait for this ROM to settle, but now that you say that they aren't making any more.......

As far as I know you can't just put Sense on an Android build, that simply isn't how it works (otherwise a tonne of people would have been doing it for a while now) and if you did manage to combine those, it wouldn't be usable with just 512mb of RAM anyway

The choice is up to you. My personal preference is CM7, but if you really want ICS then go for it I guess.
Its all based on what you want on your phone. Some people like sense, some like miui while others like cm7. Look at the videos on youtube and in the post of the ROM your looking at to try and get an idea of what you want on your phone. Not to complicate things but here is a list of around 300 Android ROMs for the HD2. Most are old but even many of the old ROMs still run great and are at least worth it to look at.
ok ty very much for the info!
I donwload AOKP for HD2 but not have a config for email ? (entreprise ou activesync) ! why ?
I'm using Tytungs CM9 ICS v1.5 rom as my daily rom. Had some problems initially (hot reboots once per day) but after upgrading CWM from 4 to 5.0.2.6 (not sure about exact number, the latest anyway) its been running smoothly with an occasional hot reboot. LOVE ICS, battery life is better than my old GB rom and data usage has reduced a lot.
It's no sense but you may like it
