[HELP] Ringo doesnt ring properly!!

hi!
i am using ringo to assign indvidual tones to my contacts but i have a problem..sometimes when my phone rings i hear a very low ringtone..infact most of the time. its not for a specific caller but for almost all..as i have just assigned 2 tones to 2 callers..(tried removing them also..still problem exists) Tried re-installing still no use..i hope this doesnt have anything to do with WA and WAD..or tweaks2k2.net
Please help..

wm5 has its own contact ringtone program inbuilt, why use another non tested program?
I can only presume that you dont have a universal and are therefor posting in the wrong area.

Fire Butice, i do know that window has its own ringtone assigning program but i am using this software basicaly to assign individual SMS TONES.. n hence use this utility for contacts also..

any 1 facing the same problem..please help..

do not use Ringo...
try photocontacts or Mort Ring...

Do the ring tones you want to use work OK in Media Player.
I have a similar problem with my O2 XDA Exec and someone told me to run the following cab file in the extended rom and this fixed it perfectly.
Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB

Yes, they do..so downloading this cab file would solve the problem. Ill try it then.. BTW where can i find this cab file?

My problem is when assign mp3 tone for sms, it dont play the whole song... only like 3-5 seconds... why?

Problem with custom sms ringtone

Hi guys, i am new to this forum and after going through some of the threads i can say that this is a gr8 forum to find help regarding ppc phones. Hence, I hope that someone could solve the problem i have been having with my sms ringtone.
I just bought an Imate Jamin a week back and i am definitely loving it. Anyways, the first thing i did, is make a few custom incoming call and sms ringtones and set it up on my device. Now the incoming call ringtones are working as usual but the sms ringtones have a problem. A particular sms ringtone is around 15-20 secs long, and when i recieve a new sms, the ringtone keeps playin even after opening a new sms and also after closing it.
As far as i know from previous experience, the ringtone should stop playing once i have pressed the appropriate button to open the sms. My friends are using the same sms ringtones on their nokia and motorolla phones but they dont have such problems. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be.

I can't answer you this question but have a request: do you have some nice sms ringtones to share with me??

Yeah sure man. I 'll give you the one i am using at the moment. However, the ringtone is in wav format and i cant seem to upload wav files on this site. You might have to give me your email add or if you know a better way to send the files to you pls let me know.

changing sms tones?

hi could anyone help me please ive searched for days for a program that will let me use my own wav files for sms alert. ive changed where there stored on my phone and sd card all to no avail! ive a program to use mp3 as ringtones called ringtone manager that i got from a post on this forum and this works fine but i carnt find anythig similar for my sms tones. ive a xda mini s running mw5, can anyone help me please!? thanks in advance of ur help.

Wave files should work for sms's in WM5 if you put them in the Windows folder.

success!!!! id read before that only wav files could be used be for sms tones, so after re-reading the threads on here i was still stumped as to why none of the wavs id got on my wizard would work. during a chat and comparing phones break at work today, a mate had a funny wav he was using for his sms on his nokia, he bluetoothed it to me and i thought id try following ur advice one last time, and ureaka! it worked!!!!! id copyed the folder of "wavs" i was using stright off my old phones sd card, id not relised that they were mp3 format.(i swear i thought they were wav!) it was then i noticed in the folder in my wizard the icon was different on my new sms tone, it was a media player icon where as the icon on all others was i mini mp icon in the corner of a white rectangle. is there a list of icons to file types anywhere? oh and thanks to xon1 for ur post, carnt belive i was so stupid as not to double chech my file format!!!

i have just bought a htc touch hd (blackstone)..
is there a way to assign an mp3 or wav or sound file to an incoming sms /text alert.
or any software app i need to download to do this.
i have found where to do it for the ringtone incoming phone call , but it wont let me assign to sms alert.
thanks in advance for any help.

Ringtones are generally .mp3 format whilst alarms are wav. format
Create a copy of ringtone you want to use and change it to .wav and you'll be able to use this for sms

do a search for a small program called ringo moibile, that will let you asign any ringtone for any function in your pnoe

thanks for the help..i have converted the mp3 to wav .
and placed it in the ringtones folder.
but it still can not see it .. to use it as incoming text message ....?
i have looked for ringo mobile...but says its not compatable with my phone...

.wav files don't go into ringtones folder to be picked up, they generally go into /windows along with all the other .wav files
I believe there are other apps out there if you search which can also do this. Go to the apps forum and try searching there.

sorry about all this..im new to the htc phones.

that is what i am using with the htc hd ( blackstone) and it works no prblem at all

Text Message Tones

Hi there, anyone know of a program that works on HD2 that allows you to assign different sms tones to different ppl? Did have Text Message Secatary from openmarket, and was working, but since I updated to new T-Mobile (UK) Stock rom, it not longer does, despite what rules i apply. Found PhotoContacts Pro but this seems abit overkill for what I want, Sure others want this as well, and despite contacting the author of Text Message Secatary, had no help from him. Also tried Justtones but that didn't work! Any help would be magic!

take a SD card... insert it and make a folder called "audio"--> open it and then make three new folders, called "alarms" "notifications" and "ringtones" then you copy the new sms tone to the notifications folder.

I know where to store the tones, think you misunderstand the point, I actually want to have a different sms tone for different ppl, i.e 1 for wife, 1 for work, 1 for best mate, so just by hearing the tone i would know who the sms is from. As i said Text message secatary used to work, til i updated the stock rom, but now doesn't.
Any more Idea's?

Only commercial software can achieve that. Don't recall seeing any freeware capable of that.
