Hey guys! Ill try to make myself clear ! Im encountering the following issue:
whenever im trying to use an image as a wallpaper for htc sense it`s been displayed somehow blurry (i guess it doesnt have anything to do with the transparency settings) .
I`ve tried to use the same image for lock screen and sense screen. The result is that in lock screen it looks very sharp and in sense screen its blurry!
Any ideas ?
What dimensions do you use? I noticed the animated ones are 480 x 696...
i didnt care much about the resolution ... i just used to download wallpapers and use them! Eventually, i tried to crop the images to 800/480 but that didnt seem to be a solution!
Are you trying to say that its something similar to that "contact pics thumbnails problem" ?
On a second thought, im encountering the same problem even if i use the stock set of images ! Another thing is that if im using the default ANIMATED wallpapers things seem to be ok ! So the problem occurs only when im using the "weather wallpaper"
Well, if the picture is anything else than the required dimensions (the word "resolution" is actually inaccurate), the system will try to either shrink or magnify it, a process which can cause various artifacts, including the blurry effect you are describing.
I would try an image with the dimensions I quoted in my previous post to see if that looks all right.
thanks! im gonna try now and tell you the result
nothing new ! Still the same problem! Wallpapers in lock mode are displayed correctly, the ones in weather mode are blurry!
Strange... I may try it myself this evening if I have the time.
*update* ... aften another day of "testing" i guess its all because HTC sense. Ive installed SPB mobile shell and things are ok there, so, luckily its not a problem with the display!
It's because HTC Sense compresses the wallpaper into this random format and stores it somewhere...
umm ... and what should i do about it ?
For those of you, like me, cant stand any of the stock lock screens and haven't figured out how to change it yet just go into your galley and select your favorite picture. Click Menu>Set As>Lock Screen. Re-size and save. Your all set!
EDIT: Sorry if this is obvious to everyone else, but it took me hours to figure out, going into settings, wall papers, personlization, etc. etc.
That's cool, thank you for posting that I had no idea and I now have a cute picture of one of my daugthers as my lock screen!!
just wonder if there are any p'shop wizards around here that can make this image fit on the evo 7 screen home... id like the skydive completely in the center "home" screen...
i tried resizing to 1280x1024 it was close but the photo started to distort...
thanks for your help...

See if this works for you.
perfect bro... well the skydiver is alittle low on the screen imo but never the less it worked...
thanks...
Im having a small problem id like to get some help with. After the update my wallpapers dont seem to be "panoramic" anymore....
Where as before i could "crop" large sized images without any problems, and they would move when u swiped the screen, i can no longer do so and the backround images on the phone appear to be static (backrounds dont move when u swipe). This probelm seem to there regardless of a pictures resolution
I don't have this problem. Is there a setting that turns that function off?
Seem to be a Panda home thing for some reason.....
Works fine for me too, although I have struggled trying to find a decent Nike Swoosh wp that sits dead centre of the home screen, anyone?
Ok, I know I have brought this up before but this new thing has happened twice now and Im really curious about if we can just fix it.
If my screen locks while in landscape mode, the lockscreen displays in landscape mode then quickly jumps to portrait. From the looks of it, everything is displayed correctly. So Im thinking it has been disabled on purpose by the devs maybe in a much earlier version of a kernel that maybe didnt support it? Maybe we can give it another go with the wonderful new kernels that have been released? I know its a small small small thing.
Thanks for all your work devs!!!
I know this one is old :O
But i have this too It looks perfect why is there not a way to enable it :?
