I'm unable to send or revieve picture texts. Anyone else run into this problem/ know of a way to fix it?
Works for me on tmobile, did you update your apns?
i added epc.tmobile.com which made data work, but im not sure how to add the mms settings its imagine in the same place?
Never added anything special for mms, it does it automatically I think if you input the apn. Make sure the data is turned on as it cannot receive or send over wifi. (That I know of)
data's on and i have wifi off. i dont know is there a username and password for the apn that im not putting in because i left it blank
Have you run connection setup?
i dont see connection setup anywhere
There's your problem, follow this:

Do I have to use GPRS to send and receive GPRS? I see when creating a server for the MMS and can pick one of my connections from the drop down. But I couldn't find a way to set the WiFi as a connection so I can choose it. Has anybody done anything like this?
sorry i can't help..but if someone else can, please help because this would be really useful.
i was thinking about it when i first got to use mms services, and i think their access points recognize how are you connected,, and only allow mother network connection. otherwise it would be possible to send mms from desktop... so i don't think so.
Hi,
Im using Cyanogen's 3.4 ROM with Hero Theme 1.3.5 and can not for the life of me figure out how MMS is supposed to work simultaneously with data/internet.
I have 2 separate access points configured on the phone, one for the internet and one for MMS.
If i create an MMS whilst the internet APN has the green radio button next to it checked it will not send. However if i go into the APN settings in the phone and check the radio button next to MMS i can send and receive it with no problems but can no longer browse the internet over GPRS / 3G
there is no settings in messages to tell the application which APN to use and it appears that in its current state, the phone is not smart enough to swap over temporarily to the correct APN and then swap back, it has to manually be done.
Is anyone else having this problem or is there something i am missing to get the phone using both APN's at the same time?
Thanks in advance.
Try setting the apn type to "mms" for the MMS one. The checkbox will dissapear, sa that might mean you can no longer manually select it, since it will be selected automatically
Ok i tried that and your right, it did remove the check box. but it didn't fix the problem unfortunately. just for good measure i changed my internet APN to have the APN type and that didnt work. so i removed it, left the MMS APN with the APN type of MMS, powercycled and tried again, still didnt work
Got any other ideas? is anyone able to replicate it? Cheers
You could try to use "default" for the Internet apn type, along with "mms" for the mms one. Other than that.. try searching the internet for the settings.
I've searched and all I could find is how to fix resizing of MMS pictures. But for me I can't send them. It always says unable to send message. I don't know if I can receive them because I haven't had anyone send me one and I can't obviously send one to myself.
You will probably have to hard reset your phone. That happened to me and that is what I had to do.
look in
settings menu all settings connections
and see if you have a connection setup option, which should set up web data and mms data.
or, in the start menu, there may be a tmo branded item, possibly looks like a sim card, which will request settings from your network, , (though it doesnt work on my o2)
Alternatively, have you been messing with the mms server settings? particularly which data connection it uses to send? cos (certainly on the o2 uk one) if you set mms to use the wrong data connection it fails. (One is propper data, teh mms one is wap)

Click to collapse
when i click on the connection setup option, how do i go about on settig it up? i have the options add a new modem connection, setup my proxy server, and manage existing connections. i dont know which it is and cant send mms/pictures
Hi,
I have a small problem, when i receive an mms with the mobile data off and after i put it on the message just says "Transfering" and i'm never able to see it?
Any fix ? Without being all day with data on..
Thanks
same for me, in italy with vodafone..
Guess this is the same everywhere ....
I have another problem with the mms app ... every time i recive a mms with a photo taken from a iPhone and i want to view it it FC`s
Tho i can recive & view pisc from any other device
Same here in slovenia simobil (vodafone) tried different apn setting like emptying everything except apn url and with proxy, username password...still doesn't work. Says sending/reciving.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Are you using the power butoon to turn data off? It kills data and mms needs data so you can't get it (might work with wlan on tho). Download something like apndroid wich has keep mms option from market.
Have you all checked your APN settings? Some widgets can cause them to be lost, I had this problem.
1. you need apn mms settings to be correct. send a mms to yourself to confirm this. for some reason also on my network (optus australia), apparently you need to send an mms to yourself to activate mms, before other people can mms you 0_0 (according to tech support)
2. for some reason if mms apn is off or disconnected, and you get an mms, when u reactivate mms data, it will be stuck at "downloading".
It seems impossible to recover this kind of MMS... Do other phones allow delayed MMS??? (This is my first smartphone, i don't get many mms)
To be safe, I use apn onoff by curvefish, leaving the option "MMS on". This way, when I get an mms, it automatically turns data on to recieve the message.
I am ultra careful, cause MMS is usually a "special" msg ie. from my friends (girls) lol...
Hi There,
Sorry if it's been answered but thread searches yielded only similar but not
definitive answers.
I'm running American Cyanogen 7 ROM April 10 version on my HD2.
Everything works perfectly except for the fact that I need to switch between MMS APN and Internet APN when I want to do either task.
I seldom send MMS' but would like to know whether I'm doing something wrong or is it just something we have to live with?
eg. I've got my data connection on, running the internet. If I want to send an MMS at that time, I then need to enter settings and change my APN to Optus MMS.
note: Once again, nothing wrong with my APN settings individually but wondering if I've missed a step where they both work in tandom?
Thanks in advance,
zee
Look at "apn type"
In the data one, it should be "default, supl " or perhaps "*" or maybe just "default"
It should not say mms in there.
Now in the mms one,(and the prob is likely to be here since you shouldn't be able to select an mms apn manually) it should ONLY say "mms"
When you change it to just say mms, the radio button showing it is selected should vanish.
now the phone will know to use one for data and one for mms automatically.
Thanks a million samsamuel!
