full charge 0% after 10h no data or wifi activated! can you confirme ?
nope I had a pretty good battery drain on wp7 even better than winmo 6.5
try to reinstall wp7.
if the problem persists contact the DFD for the problem
and don't forget that this is not a official release from DFD so there are some minor bugs
wait for next releases for a better experience
make sure you have hspl 2.08! good luck!cheers!
thanks guys! i will do a full instal from scratch! i suspect a calibration probleme
installed android then i did a full charge! after that i install wp7! but still have the heavy drain ! what radio version are you using
I charged my phone last night took it off the charger and when i woke it had 10% left :S

Yes. I had the same problem in day one.
I haven't done much testing yet, but I was thinking my battery seems to be lasting very good.... at least in standby. 8-10 hours since I took it off charger and it looks like the battery meter only went down about 20%... so there's still 75-80% left! But like I said, I haven't done that much with it today except play around a few times for 5-10 minutes at a time.
No problem for me.the battery life is very good.
maybe its related to sd card class?! can you give your radio rom version?
Last night i fully charged the battery before sleeping
no wifi or Data nothing
today morning 60 percent gone
but day before yesterday i didnt have this problem, i installed few apps recently (attentive phone, htc hub, fb n few games)

my one is having the same radio and im experiencing high battery drain
battery drain fast,, same here.. run out after 10 hours...
if i used android,,usually 30% would left after 10 hours' usage
Have you checked it without SD card? (to see if it's SD card related)
I have pretty good battery drain, too. Radio 2.15, some crappy 512MB SD-card, data and wifi on, mail/facebook/twitter/google sinc on (every 30mins).
Running for ~ 13h, including WP7 installation, testing, all the setups, etc.
Battery went from ~70% (was not fully charged) down to ~20-30%.
okay guys..seriously a stupid question...how do you check the battery drain with percentage??wp7 has no battery percentage..or is there somewhere i cant see it???i am using wp7 with 8gb class 6 and is fine with radio 2.15!i have it for 10 hours and my battery went down to the half from fully charged..!

you don't (and currently can't, not supported by WP7 API yet afaik) =) you can either estimate by the width of the battery bar, or wait until battery is at 0%.
Can it be that the battery indicator is not reading correctly or that the calibration is incorrect. I had a full battery and one hour later it flashed a low battery message. I booted into Android on the sd and the battery showed 78%.
i had good battery .. when you going to sleep off location and data
Batterylife is OK for me. With push mail ON, some calls, some mails and attachment viewing and 2 market place installs + 2 photos taken I'm at 50% after 12 hrs. It's not grounbreaking but OK. I friend has a HD7 and his unit usually lasts a day. So don't expect miracles from the battery My SD in SanDisk 4GB Class 4.
Yesterday it was GAME OVER after 6 hrs but with at least 200 MB data downloads, over 1 Hrs ot voice calls and constant playing around with the phone.

Anyone else experiencing excessive battery drain on their HD2?
I am interested to know if this is just my phone or if it actually just chews through that much juice.
I have had windows mobile phones for several years so I know all the basic ways to keep battery drain down.
Stuff that I have generally found:
1. If I keep the screen turned on without it going blank I lose about 1% every 2 minutes.
2. If I am browsing that figure almost doubles.
3. My old Touch HD used about 5% battery overnight when in standby but this phone will go through about 25%.
4. The phone gets really hot when browsing (much hotter than my old Touch HD)
I have tried flashing ROM's and Radios but nothing seems to help.
I am not running any software on the phone that I wasn't running on my old HD1.
I have only had the phone for a week so I am not sure if this is normal but I would be very surprised if HTC released a phone that lasts for only a few hours on one battery.

I wish I got 2 days
we really need extended battery ,hd1 battery was much more better.
Good mate but yes i agreee HTC has come up with a battery eating device this time around. My device on full charge just gives in around 8-10 hrs. This might be dat my EDGE is on and 7 mails accounts sending mails back and forth.
but truly i think that HTC better look into this very seriously cause more and more ppl are suffering in this battery drain..
Any of flashing roms and radio not helping either... did a complete hard reset but no step up
HTC come with longer battery battery for bigger devices soon......
The only solution i see now is get one of those extra battery worth mind bogling £52.87
I've had this problem ever since flashing to 1.66, I flashed the radio to 2.07.50.27 as this was said to solve the problem but it hasn't made any difference after a few days of use. My battery life used to be significantly better when I was on the original stock ROM, so much so I'm considering going back to it
I also know all the tricks as to clawing back the battery drain, my phone is idle on my desk at work most of the time and I don't use Wi-Fi, all the location stuff is turned off as are weather, stock and other updates plus my screen is set to 30% then off after 60 seconds. Despite all of that I lose 1% every 2-3 minutes
It seems to me that perhaps the radio is checking for reception pretty much constantly rather than say, 5-10 mins perhaps? This used to be a problem on my old Blackberry Storm but a few fimware updates solved it, eventually!
The only other thing I've noticed since the update is that once the battery drops below 50% or so, the drain seems to slow, I don't know if this is perhaps because the phone goes into some sort of semi-power saving mode?
Suggestions/hints welcome! I've had a semi-thorough look into this on the forums and tried most of the suggestions but still the problem remains. Will battery life improve after a few charges perhaps as this was a trait of my Storm's battery, the more you charged it the better the day to day battery life was (and no it wasn't because I had it plugged in all the time! Over time the general charge just seemed to improve when roaming).
Thanks!

You need to indicate what services you have running. Do you have any data services running eg: location services, push mail, weather? all of these have a bearing. In addition, network services can also drain a battery, especially if the signal is weak and the phone have to search for a transmitter, or 3g services.

Nothing is turned on, everything is set to manual.
As I stated I know all the basic stuff. I understand that all these things have a bearing on battery loss.
Everything I stated in the first post is for when I have nothing running. The phone is just sitting there running sense, thats all.
I have had my HD2 for a few days now. I am on Vodacom in South Africa.
I have not had a problem with battery life.
Yesterday i unplugged from the charger at 07:00. I spent about 1 and 1/2 hours of talk time on the phone, it was permanently connected to 3g doing weather updates etc. Sent and received a couple of sms's. Also played with a few tweaks and reboots.
When i got home at about 18:00 i had over 30% battery. I then surfed the web for over 2 hours to drain the battery.
try setting Network Selection to Manual

Same here with and without stock ROM.
yeah.. the phone is a battery sucker.... another cons of HD2....
This is very interesting to read because I do not have this problem. When I left my HTC HD2 on last night (I woke up at 4 in the morning to get something to drink and unplugged it) and then woke up at 8, it was at 98%. That means it went from 100% to 98% in 4 hours. Not to bad imo.
I am now at work and it is 15:34, and I am at 87%. I have made some calls, watched some videos, send a few text messages. Not much (I am at work so I got other things to do). So 08:00 (98%) - 15:34 (87%) - that's 7 and a half hours, with some calls, text messages and a video.
I am pretty sure when I get home at 18:30 the battery will still be above 75%. Then I connect to my wifi at home, refresh twitter, weather, browse the web a little bit, check e-mail etc. So that will drain my battery a little more.
But overall I have not had any problems with my battery life. I always make it trough a day, and never have a problem like 'damn my battery is almost done and I am not near a charger'.
Some info that might help:
I do not sync ANYTHING automatically. I still have some things to do with my Vodafone contract and do not have an unlimited plan yet. I only sync at home on my own wifi connection. For me this is not a problem, because I only need to refresh the weather each morning to see what the day is going to be like. Twitter I only do when I have the time. Stocks I do not use.
I have screen brightness set to automatic.
I am on 3G most of the time.
I am running the official 1.66 Dutch ROM.
I have some tweaks, games and programs installed.
I hope you all solve this issue, because it just can not be that my HD2 has a good battery life, and your HD2 not
Kind Regards
EDIT @ 17:00 still 87%.
I am in a 3G 2100 only network (I don't have 2G functionality).
ROM: Artemis 3.0
Radio: 2.06.50.23_3
Customization: Seiya 6.5.5
I don't leave any automatic updates on, except for my e-mail account every 2 hrs.
I never close my connection.
The drainage overnight is -3% (8hrs).
The battery lasts at least 12 hrs of intense usage.
Normally I have to recharge every second day (e.g. I charged last night, I answered a few calls, I did some IM and browsing and I still have 73% left).
For a phone with a 1 GHz processor, a 4.3" screen and a tiny 1250 mAh battery I find the drainage is rather decent.
Mind you, I ALWAYS do at least one full charging cycle to my battery after flashing a new ROM. I mean: full discharge, battery out 1 min, full charging in OFF mode, battery out 2 mins.

I have seen this process recommended a couple of times now. What is the theory behind it if you don't mind me asking?
maybe its also becouse some of us couldnt wait using the hd2 when they got it (like me) before it was fully charged for the first time
anyway my battery life has improved a little bit, i was at 74% this morning and did a lot of browsing, installing, tweaking and now its at 3%. it used to be much worse
I have battery consuming problem from time to time.I did everything:
installed new stock rom 1.66;
transfered all data which phone is using from card to phone memory(pictures,icons,sounds.etc...)
all updates are done manually;
Gprs connection is swiched off on the idle after one min;
One night it is loosing from 2 to 4%;
another from 30 to 40%
and it is eating memory from 10 to 15mb
I think that it is radio which is causing battery drainage so fast(to much communication wit a base stations, because when I am checking spb wireless monitor in the morning, there is no any data traffic.
I hope they can solve problem, because it is getting me mad and crazy
Try setting the screen brightness to 10-20% (on battery powered)
and dim backlight after 10 seconds (on batter powered).
It helps a lot, at least for me.

as far as i know, the battery has an integrated digital circuit (ic) which estimates the state-of-charge (soc). the procedure resets/calibrates the ic to obtain a more accurate estimation. since the radio rom is in charge with the power management (among other things), by changing it you decalibrate the "gauge".
i don't know if i've got the theory right but i tested this myself and it surely works.
Hey guys, I've had the phone since Saturday and even though I've been through a few charge cycles my battery only lasts about 6-8 hours. Today I took the phone off the charger at 10:00 AM and it died on me at 5:45 PM. I only texted a few times and only did an hour or so of Slacker Radio. Seems a little low for what I'm doing with the phone.
I am on Kumar's classic 2.2 ROM with 2.11 radio.

A lot of things can drain the battery, 3g on in a no 3g area, weather updates, twitter , email updates ...
But If I was you I would try a diff radio ... I get a full day out of mine at this point a little more ...
I've tried 2.12 as well and the battery didn't improve.
Is your activesync checking as items come in? That's what drained mine terribly. Basically, it can be a ton of things that make your battery drain such as:
1. backlight
2. agps
3. certain programs
4. etc
You'd have to list a bunch of stuff on what you're doing to your phone
Can you turn activesync off? If so, how?
Also, any other tips to save battery life?

Definitely lower down the screen brightness to 20%, turn off Bluetooth and WiFi, don't let things like Twitter and your e-mail update so often.
Also using the internet/music/videos will drain quite a bit of power, especially if you use the internet while listening to music.
Yeah I mainly use internet radio while at work. Would using WiFi be easier on the battery than using 3G/H?

Yes, I've done it both ways and wifi most definitely draws less juice when streaming data than 3g (and when idle too, for that matter)
do you think it matters whether you install programs on your SD card or on the device?
i have CHT installed on the SD card and i can't make it 8 hrs on light usage.
I only have 3 apps installed so far, but it's on the device.
Also, is there a way to have the default wallpapers without animation? I'm sure that doesn't help the battery every time I unlock the phone either.

Yes. Try installing it on and running it from the phone instead, I'm sure you'll see at least a noticible difference.
Honestly, there's really not much of any reason to install apps on the SD card with this phone...there's more storage available than even most power users would ever come close to filling.
im in teh same boat. had it since march. on elegancia rom which people say is great for battery. on 2.12
now im in a bad service area in my basement often so i know sometimes thats the cause. but even at the gym 40 mins of internet radio dropped my battery almost 20 percent.
if i do nothing with the phone it usually drops 5 pct an hour 10 pct with moderate use but 20 easily if i do anything on the web over 3g or wifi. its awful
oh and i have lumos configured, i only have email connect every 2 hours and weather every 6. nothing else connects

Wow! your phone's battery usage sounds a little over the top. Might want to try using a different radio. 2.08 has given me the best signal/battery efficiency, but of course that varies from phone to phone.
Also, I bought a 2600 mAh battery so now I'm not afraid to use my phone. As long as you don't mind the extra bulk it adds to the back of the phone , I would suggest getting an extended battery to everyone complaining about how their battery dies too fast.
I will back up the statement that putting apps in main memory will save you battery ...
The less your phone has to access the SDcard the less power it uses.
A big thing is if you have any apps that run all the time that are on the SDcard , not only does it drain battery but will degrade the performance of the SDcard .
Anyone else have any ideas?
talked to tmo on webchat last night got em to send me a new battery
so if nothin helps at least il have two
I'm trying that method right now, we'll see what happens.

My wifes hd2 is having horrible battery issues on WP7.
Normal use is 5 hours.
zero usage is just about 12 hours.
I have tried 4 different verified working sdcards:
scandisk 2gb class 2
patriot 4gb class 10
Adata 8gb class 6
Kingston 16gb class 2
I have tired 4 different roms:
xboxmod's XBmod (normal and modded), Moon light (none have working gps)
Football's HD2 project (no gps)
DFT's original release (gps actually works)
In all of the roms, location, wifi, bluetooth, find my phone - were all turned off.
email sync was set to 1 hour
I searched the following threads and did their battery tricks:
1
2

No luck.
Running a tmobile hd2
radio: 2.15.50.14
I also tried:
-without an sdcard (150mb)
- not running htc connection wizard (no mobile data)
- using MY HD2.
as a last resort i swapped batteries and then flashed TyphooN CyanogenMod 2.0 (my main rom). both phones get 40+ hours of normal usage. Today with 8 hours since the last charge and 4 hours of screen time i still have 87% battery left. So its not the phones. My wifes had 95% batter with 6 hours since charge, and 1 hour of screen time.
I would appreciate any help.
thank you.
That's what I can say:
1. Flash Radio 2.12.50.2 - It improves battery life. If you have 3G probs with 2.12.50 (I don't have any but some users reported weaker 3G signal) then try 2.14.50. 2.15 is the worst radio for WP7.
2. Don't panic and recharge as needed for a few days. Apply the battery indicator registry tweak. Somehow WP7 settles with the battery and bat life gets better ovet time. I now get over a full day of usage including 3G on, 2 mail acc syncing every 30 min, about 40-50 min IE browsing, 20-30 min gaming and 20-30 min. calls. That's about the same I got with WM 6.5.
I had terrible battery life also until I applied the registry tweak.

Number4 in my post above was the registry tweak. I tried it. No difference. Time to flash a radio
raidio 2.12.50.2 has shown no improvements. its been 4 hours after a full charge (no sdcard), everything in settings turned off, and my battery is half full.
the battery tweaks dpnt seem to address the actual charging issues.
Personally i find that after i get a reading of 100% full on the HTC battery tool i can usually see that the amout of charge in teh battery may only be 70%.
Restart the phone and recharge, repeat as nessary. there is something very wrong with the battery driver on this thing
raidio 2.12.50.2 had no improvements. 7 hours and 15 minutes after full charge the phone is dead. Flashing 2.14 after it charges.
Radio 2.12 did not work for me either. I've read 2.14 is the best for battery life. Flashed my HD2 last night with it but haven't tested it yet, I'm on my iPhone now.
Did the registry battery tweak twice but no change at all.
IMO the radio overall is the major reason for battery drain. Turning off 3G will help for sure.
I have location, mail, push notifications, etc. on my iPhone and battery holds 2 days with no problem, regular usage - texts, internet, talk. These services (except 3G) don't have big impact on excessive battery drain.

when i install this tool (yesterday ) all works, full battery IS full battery

The number is supposed to change, 11 being full, 1 being 10%. The trick with the registery tweak is doing it when the battery is completely full, the ROMs with this built in wont make the blindest bit of difference unless the battery is full
The author himself states that it will change by its self.
Ok, let me put this another way.
If you charge your battery to 50% and apply the tweak windows will assume the batter is full, which it isnt, that is why you end up with massive battery drainage because it will still try to appear empty when the battery is empty.
So, your battery will be about 1250mAh, do whatever you have to do to get it full, restart and charge as much as needed, unplug and charge, whatever it takes to get it to 1250 or there abouts, THEN apply the reg tweak, that will set windows to use the correct scale for the battery icon.
What this doesnt unfortunatly fix is that windows will refuse to charge the battery to 100% sometimes for reasons unknown, its more than likely that its a driver issue and since this was never ment for our hardware that makes sence. usually restarting or unpluging and charging can correct this however.
flashed 2.14 no change. trying the battery tool. thank you.
Just one more thing,
SD cards appear to be a massive part of all the dramas people are having with HD2 WP7 including battery usage, I searched all over HTC sites and found that they will only recommend SanDisk SD cards. European HD7 ship with 8GB and US/Asian HD7 ship with 16GB cards.
Maybe you should change?? I switched from Class 2 SanDisk 2GB to Class 4SanDIsk 8GB and have had no problems so far. Had my music player on for the last 12 hours straight.
SD cards from within the same Brands and Models may be different, you cant assume because one person got XYZ to work you will be able to do the same. ive got several Sandisks and a kingston and most of them do not work or work but with serious issues, oddly it was my main card that i was using for WM6.5 and android that worked in the end.
Its worth remembering that we are not supposed to have removable media and im guessing that what ever the cards are in teh HD7 have been made for the jopb and are not just off the shelf. (or at the very least all from the same production line.
HTC Recommended
SD Cards in the HD7 are listed in their tech spec, as "non-removable storage", however, if you search the forums and youtube, you will find the only reason they are "non-removable" is because they've been covered up.
I'm guessing this is because of all the trouble that most HD7 consumers (non XDA members and followers) would have in fixing the issues caused by swapping cards.
Looking back over the SD card threads you will see that yes a lot of cards do work, but the majority are SanDisk 8-16GB Class 4 cards, as recommended (I spoke to them on the phone), and shipped by HTC for the HD7.
I think its important to note, that i am having these issues without an sdcard AND with any sdcard.
The htc battery tool allowed me to see when my battery was fully charged. after everyflash before anything else i do the regedtry edit, and so far nothing has helped.
xda2_haseeb released his Twilight rom where he gets killer battery life. I however do not have the same fortune.

Radio 2.12 and 2.15 have the same battery drain.
2.14 worked best for me. Give it a few days.

I'm running Radio 2.15. Not bad but not 24 hours either, so flashing to 2.14 (which I haven't tried yet) is worth a shot!
If I flash to 2.14 (without using task29), will it erase everything?
Hi Guys!
I have flashed my HD with Pdaimatejam ROM, this rom is awesome! But I have one question:
Every time I made a hard reset, my battery status show about 1 day and 10 hours of lifetyme in 100% of charge.
After 5 or 6 days, HD2 shows about 20hours in 100%. and so on...
This happened also in ROM HD2O I had installed few months ago!
This is normal? Or a radio problem?
Radio Version: 5.51.09.29_22.32.50.10u
Thanks!

The estimation is based on your current consume ....
I think is more relevant to monitor your real battery drainage using a dedicated application like "Battery Status" or "BatteryTool".

Yes, i know, but i dont changed nothing in my use...
How i can control with Battery status or Battery tool?
Hi!
WP has to "learn" how you use it so the first week or two you'll notice the battery status changing a lot It is practically unusable so I would recommend (like mentioned above) that you install battery status or the htc battery tool. You can find the xap-files on the forum if you do a little searching ;-) As an alternative you could look on marketplace - there are a few apps out there for the purpose!
If you need help to figure out how they work - just ask! :-D
/Anders
Hi Anders!
Thank you for your kindness in quote! I downloaded the battery tool, and from what I understand it only shows the percentage of the battery, right?
Also downloaded the HTC battery tool, it shows me some more accurate data, but do not know how to use them, you could help me to improve?
I noticed that my HD2 spends too much power in standby (like 4 or 5 percent at hour without use, with 3g, wifi, localize and more off), is there any way to minimize this?
Thanks so much!
hug
Sergio
ps: sorry my bad english, im Brazilian!
Hi again!
No worries about your english - understand perfectly ;-)
You are right about the battery app from the marketplace only shows the voltage and percentage remaining. Its nice for your startpage but other than that not that usable.
The HTC battery app on the other hand gives you a great deal of info! What you have to look for is battery current. It should be between 5 and 10 when you have had the phone on standby for some minutes with the settings you describe...
Anything else you would like to know?
/Anders
Sorry to be asking me all the time, but you are helping me right! Thank you!
I installed the tool for HTC battery, the tests and did as you instructed me! it shows the values of -80 to -100: |, is this normal?
can somebody pls tell me why I get only 7-8 hrs of battery life and also why my hd2 always heats up..

drainage and heating is not connected only to those settings, i got on mine all that turned on, + mail sync ewery 30 minutes, and battery lasts ower 24 hours with normal day usage (surfing on 3G is most intense on battery for me)
Its hard to say what is causing high battery drainage, because for me first it was SD card, so after I changed it ewerything was good for day or two, than my screen broke (tough luck) and while i was fixing it, i used an old iPhone which broke my sim card (more tough luck) in way that celular data didnt work, and that caused teriblle drainage when I fixed HD2. So after replacing sim card it was ok again (2+ days on batery saver prediction, but usualy lasts for day and half).
p.s. I use yuki-xbmod rom on adata 8gb C4 sd card

if I let those things turned on, my battery life is halved, this may not be the main but I think it works, right?
I'm using a SD SanDisk's 16GB class 6, once wore a sandisk 8gb class 4 and nothing has changed about the battery life .. it's not strange?
Does the capacity of the SIM influences that too? there are various SIMs sizes right? mine is very old: D
That does sound strange I must say :-( Could you try to turn on flight-mode, let it rest for 30 mins or so and then check the batterystatus again? Then at least we can tell if the radio is draining the phone or not!

I always turn of localization and sometimes use 3g. My data is always on. Am using a 16 SanDisk card. I don't know the problem. Am thinking of doing a task29 and reflashing the rom. Do I have to repartition the size in Magldr? And can u plz give me simple steps in doing it because I will be using hd2 toolkit and that will be my first time. Thank you...
Hey guys, i have a problem concerning the battery life of my HTC Hero with FroydVillain 1.7.3 (Android v2.2.1)
In the last couple of days my battery goes down by 10-12% per hour without even touching the phone. I tried factory reset, wiped sd card and reflashed, flashed CM7 but still the battery issue didn't go away.
I charge it 100% before i go to bed at 11.30 and when i wake up at 7 the phone is completely powered off..
The thing that consumes my battery is the process "Android OS". I read about it on the internet, but all threads were SGS2..
The strange thing is that it's CPU usage time according to the battery stats is 1h 21m after 3 hours of sleep.. Is this normal??
I have everything turned off - wifi, gps, mobile data, auto sync, background sync and still the drain continues.
Has anyone had this kind of issues and possibly a solution?
Or should i buy a new battery?

I have also been experiencing battery issues with Froyd lately, but not to the same degree as you are. My solution was to wipe and install another 2.2.1 based ROM. This new ROM is acting normally in terms of battery life.
With Froyd, my battery was acting "weird" in terms of overall battery life. Once I got about 3 good discharge / charge cycles in a row things seemed to improve.
Another thing to consider is did you recently install any new apps? Some apps don't play nice and cause the phone to not enter sleep state OR cause excess CPU usage.
Some people might say "wipe battery stats" but some Google Engineer / Developer has recently dispelled that myth... https://plus.google.com/u/0/105051985738280261832/posts/FV3LVtdVxPT
Good luck!
It's not from any app. Last night i wiped my sd card, wiped everything from recovery and flashed Froyd. I used it all day without installing anything besided battery graph to monitor my battery usage. it's something from the OS itself i guess..
The funny thing is that it seems that in the past two hours the drain has disappeared and now the battery is reducing by ~1% per hour and i haven't done anything during that time, except 2 calls under a minute each and 1 sms.
How old is ur battery? Did you consider that it might be physically related? Not because of the processes or so?
One more thing I noticed - if I charge by ac outlet, it charges faster, and lasts longer, if I charge by computer usb port, it charges really slowly and battery drains way faster... I don't know about battery life, maybe from ac outlet it dies faster, but 2 years of using it and still 1.5 day of normal use...
Thanks for the replies guys! I found the problem, it was my radio.
I flashed the latest radio and now my hero's battery life is better than before!

Looks like you have a battery problem. OS does not really kill batteries, you can see more or less the same performance if there are no background apps eating your power.
Check these batteries for your Hero. These are top quality and many users vouch for them.

@saj222 i'm now running the same radio as the one in your signature. before that i was with 09.05 or sth like that..
@porcupineli my hero is second hand with about a year of usage before me. i have it for about 2 months now. Since the phone costed me $90 i don't think i can pay $70 for a battery.. I was thinking of buying this one
