Skymarket/ WMMarketplace for WM6.0/6.1

Here is a cab for 6.0/6.1 users for WM Marketplace or WM6.5 if its not installed in rom. I made it from 23053 skymarket oem pkg. Its for WWE only and only for devices that have a bootlauncher (IE no apache.) Let me know if it doesn't work on stock roms as its not signed as I'm not sure if signature is required but it will run on cooked roms with full kernel trust enabled.
Edit from reports it seems to run on stock roms too
Some reports that it errors if IE isn't default browser also.

Have they taken the site down? I keep getting a "Marketplace could not connect because the server is unavailable" message.

I also have that error.

Probably a trail run for the big launch tomorrow

Marketplace has been closed today from 3 PM. I think they will open it with many apps included!

I just tried it using the app in my ROM.. It downloaded a new version, and connected to the Marketplace, but there's only about a dozen apps online atm, and almost no free ones...

Btw, it has a serious flaw. It doesnt require a PIN when purchasing something, thus anybody that may get his hands on your phone may start charging you as he likes.

Hi I have the ROM "Valkyrie XPERIO" (the latest version).
I have installed the CAB and when I click on it I get the message:
"Windows Marketplace for Mobile cannot connect. There may be a problem with the Marketplace service right now. Check your internet connection and try again later."
I know the internet connection is fine, I didn't have marketplace built into the ROM so just wondered if someone has seen this error message?

Works good on HTC Raphael with official 6.1 ROM, but very poor choice of apps for now.

Works fine on HTC Touch running NFSfan's v14 ROM. Thanks man!

After download the cab and install it, when I launch the program, 3G is activating, but nothing else on my screen.
I'm on WM 6.1 Rom Mania Adrenaline final FRE.

ok mine ended up working in the end, just took a few attempts to connect the first time. Works a treat now
And yeah I saw the £10 calculator!! WTF?! Just wondering if we'll see anything like BING or Skype on here?

As he said in post #1, you may make IE your default browser and not Opera.

It's been open since at least yesterday.

I have IE default browser, I use a HTC Touch Elfin with a Spanish ROM
I have installed Marketplace in the main memory.
Installed correctly but when i press the shorcut in programs, nothing appears...

Yeah, I saw that. You have to wonder what the hell the devs of that have been smoking. £10 for a calculator? <bleep> off!
Not impressed with the startup so far though.. Very small selection of titles (I count 39 apps in total. 39!!), and almost NO free stuff, not even trial versions!

Is there a chance to have it working with Opera as browser ? Today all cooked ROM are using Opera instead of IE...

I myself are still doubt. about 4 hours ago, i managed to get my hand on a BB app suite cab. tried to install on my elfin, and it said something like "oem is not supported 'htc-elf'". while at that momment, i'm using the official rom from the htc site. out on curiosity i tried the 'setmodelID.exe' method i read on touch hd2. still having the same error message.
flashed my elfin with athar's, repeat the step, same. but i do manage to have the bb connect up and running on both roms.
IMHO, if somehow we can decieve the cab that our device is not elf, perhaps it would install. running the app suite is another thing.
i was actually just want the BBM thing. but i have no clue on what should i do next. hope someone here can port the suite to work on elf. it should be good. or atleast only the BBM. ^_^
anyway i'm using the ce-rom now. was liking it until i realized 'IT HAS NO OTHER Input Method other than qwerty keyboard.' can someone kindly enough to point me how to put the defaults input method like the original rom from htc?

No you can't have BB OS, but you can have a half-decent version of Android working on the Elf/Elfin.

I know it sounds very dumb If I'm asking question regarding HTC TOUCH HD
I switched to HTC TOUCH HD from LG ARENA ( I bought second hand set )
Because I wanna try out HTC PHONE
When I first got it I was like WTF
What I can say is It's beyond my prediction
In fact this is a very very complicated phone that I ever got
and what I can say is,
I really really need helps on it
I'm STUCK
I just can't understand what's ROM, Cooked ROM, "Energy"
and blah blah
Seriously I need help
I need somebody to explain from A - Z about TOUCH HD to me..

ROM = Operating OS. There are ROM's with WM6.1 and the latest WM6.5 (though latest but not new). Your phone will not operate without a ROM, just like your computer will not function without an Operating system.
Cooked ROM = A cooked ROM is a ROM that is modified by certain experts in the developers community. These cooked ROM have some applications removed, updated applications, a newer version of OS, etc. All these are done to suit the user, whether it is speed is king or the user prefers eye candy.
Energy ROM = It's a ROM made by NRGZ28. We have cookers like the famous Dutty, kwbr, Miri, etc...
I seriously encourage you to get used to your device first before you look into custom ROM's. Any slight mistake will leave you with a brick instead of a beautiful Touch HD.

But which type of COOKED ROM is more emphasize on Speed?
Because I don't actually like my current COOKED ROM / ROM
Btw, how to check whether it's COOKED ROM or ROM?

My TOUCH HD will auto connect to internet, sometime.

ROM speed is actually up to user. For me personally, I go for kwbr and Dutty. Be sure to use the Manila 2.1 ROM so that your system doesn't slow down.
If you're using WM6.5, there is a setting in Connections called No Data. Toggle it to disable internet. If not, check your programs so they do not download data automatically.

if you really use HD, i think you already had cooked ROM of blackstonhenge. official ROM for HD got top start button, not bottom start buttom. one more, official HD got black n white icon at home screen, cooked ROM got colourful icons.
are you really got HD because HD got no CDMA......?
please post your HD picture for us to view to confirm whether you really got HD or what.. TQ

Hey everyone, I'm super new to all of this stuff. I have a Windows Mobile 6.1 HTC Touch. I'm trying to flash a WM 6.5 rom to the device because I hate WM 6.1! I've successfully dual booted (not sure this is the right term) Android 2.2 from my SD card with almost no direction, I found it really easy. For whatever reason I'm having a terrible problem even CID unlocking my phone... I've searched LONG hours and Googled forever, none of the written instructions seem to do justice for me. Could someone make or point me in the direction of a detailed written tutorial or maybe even a video? And let me know if you play Playstaion 3.

Are you certain it is an ELF and not a Vogue? You mention FroYo which makes me wonder is all.
Is it CDMA or GSM?
(I don't play PS3...)

Ohh... I think it is a vogue, when I plug it in the usb port it shows up in "My Computer" as "Vogue". What's the difference? And I'm not exactly sure what CDMA or GSM are, think it has something to do with my service carrier though... if so I'm unlocked for cricket wireless.
EDIT: I did some Googleing and Cricket uses CDMA, am I in the wrong forums? Will I still be able to get WM 6.5?

Yeah I can boot FroYo from my SD card whenever I want a change from windows mobile.

You shouldn't get your hopes up that much, because if you hate WM6.1, you will also dislike 6.5. They are the same operating systems, but one is slightly more finger friendly. I think 6.1 is still quicker and more stable than any 6.5 ROM, but if you have a stock 6.1 ROM (that came with the phone), then I'd definitely suggest you flashing your phone and getting a new one, 6.1 or 6.5.

New T-Mobile HTC HD2 but which Rom?

Hello,
I'm finally buying the HD2 that I should of bought when i got my nokia N97.
It's the T-Mobile flavor by design as i intend to use it on iWireless 3g which is an affiliate and uses the same 1700/2100 3g.
I intend to unlock it via code and then plan to unbrand it via firmware and via facia replacement.
I'm looking for the latest unbranded/streamlined/stable T-Mobile USA rom that is out??
suggestions???
also, will i need to replace the boot splash or is that included in the rom?

The U.S. HD2 has smaller physical dimensions than international HD2s.

well the front facia is specifically for T-mobile hd2(but unbranded) so i still fail to see the problem..
I unlocked it, hspl3, and flashed 3 diff roms so far.
kumar, energy and now laurentius v4 which im extremely happy with.
So basically a done deal.
unlocked, debranded, and now using iwireless 3g 1700/2100
within an hour of receiving it thanks to this website.
So whats up with the screen position??
my n97 changes the orientation as i turn the phone from up to landscape and back..the hd2 seems to only do this in certain apps and menu items?
is this a hardware issue or win mobile?
I guess im just a little confused about this..

The screen rotation is only enabled in certain apps, yes. The easiest way to enable it in a program that doesn't have it already, is to download and install BSB tweaks, which has an option to let you asign auto-rotation abilities to virtually any program that you can install on your device.

Use mdj and go to android.hd2roms.com im using the revolution sense rom and it is AWESOME nothing wrong with it

New Question
Ok,
Things are going great...love the phone. blows away the N97 in most regards...
I Really like it.
MMS & WAP all configured on the phone which is running "unlimited - 3G Talk Text Data" Pay In Advance with iWireless(T-Mobile affiliate)...3G working Great..etc..
The Question I have now is can i run a T-Mobile Rom and enter my own mms settings? or will it just default to the locked down tmobile mms setting on the stock rom? Is there a new version of a connection wizard-tool-setup that has Iwireless prepaid and actually will work with a T-Mobile Rom?
I'm using the cracing Rom at the moment and really like it but I also like the idea of using the stock T-Mobile roms...even though iWireless is a T-Mobile affiliate they do not share the same mms settings...

my current rom has a great "Connection Setup" app which works great..
I'm beginning to ramble so i will just leave it at that and I hope someone Can help with this...I presume someone else has been in this situation..??

the connection app you refer to is 'connectionsetup' which all roms except tmous have as standard.
Do a search for connectionsetup.cab, its available in several threads. Plus, since its a cab install, you can install it, it runs automatically at restart, sets up your connection, then you can uninstall it, saving 12meg.

yup, i found like 6 of them and found a couple that work quite well.
I have a new question...I'm having problems with icons being jagged on apps that are installed after the flash...
Is there an icon rebuild app or something to remedy this?
rebooting doesnt fix it..
its driving me nuts..
I have a nice looking list of apps etc and then these straglers that look oddly out of place due to their resolution...

there is i think an icon cache which you can clear, but ive never dealt with it so dont know where it is. Look in the hints and tips threasd maybe.
