[Q] Linux Boot Screen - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

I would like very much to get rid of the green htc on black splash screen that shows when my phone boots up. This is the first boot screen, not the second one that the chefs usually personalize. I used to see it in the early days of HaRET, but the splash screen soon replaced it.
I know that MAGLDR is taking the place of one boot screen, so I am not even trying to do this myself.
Basically, I want to see the scrolling log text as the phone boots up, the same as I see when I boot my Linux PC.
Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

You can only have a picture not the bootlog like Haret.. if you want bootlog i believe you can try to extract it from Darkstone's superNand rom

Windows Mobile Splash Screen

So I followed the instructions I found in another thread.
Took out the old .png file. Made a new one... named it and made it hidden within the Windows folder and it works. But it's weird.
When I SR, the cingy splash loads up, then flickers for a bit and the backlight comes on, then my splash comes up like it should. Is that flickering normal? I didn't notice when I had the stock WinMo splash up there.
Thanks!
Greg
i am on my 2nd 8525 and they both flipped out on the cingular splash screen (not why i returned my first one) so i would say its normal from my experience
Yeah, I've noticed that and I haven't even changed my splash screen yet. And I'm still on my first 8525.
Whew!
Thanks guys! Just wanted someone to confirm I'm not crazy. (At least regarding this... )

start up screen problem

i downloaded a test version of WM6.1, then every time i reset the phone, when phone start, the start screen says 'test product, not for sale'.
anydody know how to fix this?
Of course because it is TEST rom! So this is not problem, and you do not need to fix it.
That screen is called splash screen. If you would like a different splash screen, you can change it.

I think it is not the splash screen, it is the first boot screen when the device turn on, the screen says 'smart mobility', then right under the word, it says 'test product, not for sale'. this only happened after I put the test rom. now it is always there.
You can flash the original one back then search for an OS only ROM.

[Q] Android wont run anymore after HD2 has been repaired

I've got a problem. two weeks ago I sent my HD2 to be repaired.. it had those white bright spots on the screen. Now I've got it back (they replaced the screen) but Android doesn't work anymore :S
I installed HSPL again, flashed chuckydroidrom and as far as I know all the settings are the same. Still when I try to boot android haret runs normally... then I get a black screen with some small text in the upper left part of the screen telling me that windows is being shutted off and some android parts are starting. After that the text gets a copy of the text behind it in purple and green. and after that the text fades away, leaving a full lit up black screen behind.. Then is doesn't do anything anymore..
I don't understand why it behaves differently after being repared and I don't understand why the android booting stops. as I said. I use Chuckydroidrom, HSPL 1.42.HSPL and I tried several different versions of android. Mdeejay desire Z-rom, and ofcourse my favorite mattc 1.8. plz help
SOLVED. thanks, thread can be closed or removed

[Q] Screen doesnt come on till Boot

This is kind of a weird question to ask, but Im more concerned than in a pinch.
When I go to reboot my phone, the screen stays completely black till I hit the CM7 RC2 OS, then the buttons flash, and I can press the unlock button and the screen will turn on and I can see things. Before then, it all just stays black, even during boot.
To sum up, I don't see anything during boot, but I can feel the phone vibrate and come on. I *think* I can boot into Recovery and Bootloader, but the screen still doesn't come on during either of them. Its as though its not being recognized until the OS is hit.
Anyone else run into this? Thanks~
I don't know much about this stuff, but could it be that something happened with the splash screen that made it corrupted or something like that? You could try to flash a different splash screen using this method- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=947077.
