The twitters or whatever say gingerBEARD is coming to GalaxyS... are they implying a pirate theme??? That would rock! Hahaha... seriously... I just want AN update... 2.3 would just be bonus. I haven't tried the DK2 leak and roms, too much hassle if it is indeed not going official. I do see though that in dev. The roms seem to be moving right along... any way dk28 can be stable enough for daily driver (given no user error on install)??? Just didn't want to post in the dev section with that.... still confused as to what goes there... only roms and leaks, etc? Like that guys request for a homescreen, its a request to devs, but that section seems to be heavily guarded... so ?s like that get dumped to general... and I would assume he was looking for this for his epic... so general android would be inappropriate. Sorry fo rambling, but people really need to lighten up a little on here, were all anxiously waiting whatever is next... its like an overcrowded jail, with the old schoolers barking rules at the new guys to suit their personal tastes on what they want to BROWSE in these forums. I think all of us who don't dev need to humble up a bit... too many me too comments, or knowitall because you read it from a dev. My epic has a big ol' "Galaxy S" moniker on its back... Sammy hasnt discluded any US phones when it says those things....like the official froyo that the galaxy s would get. They never specified which galaxy s, and then froyo started popping up on all of them

Yes I'm aware this isn't a Fascinate, but its interesting all the Galaxy S phones are getting 2.2, so I posted it
IIRC Bell is also not a US carrier
Stop posting garbage threads about SGS phones on non US carriers getting froyo. It makes no contribution to this forum especially since the Verizon Fascinate forum is now the home to non US carrier Fascinates the Continuum and the Mesmerize. This has nothing to do with our phones. Just stop it. It will be released when its released.

All? That's 2 whole Galaxy S devices, the I9000 and the Bell Vibrant. There are still a bunch more to go before they're "all" getting it.
Still, I do expect AT&T and T-Mobile to follow pretty quickly.

Guys stop having a fit when people post news, I'm all for hearing anything about updates. I'm seriously worried about samsung just not updating the phones anymore while motorola and htc continue to give updates. So thank you for posting this, nice to be reassured.

This forum has enough crap from where's dj05 or where's 2.2.
We don't need anymore, especially a topic that is meant for ANOTHER PHONE. Post it in the damn Vibrant forum. Fascinate users don't care if the other phones are getting 2.2. They only care if their phone gets 2.2
So this entire thread supports nothing, nor posses any real information about the froyo release date for the Fascinate.

Its always good to keep up on what the carriers are doing as our us carriers may follow suit. And it could help all Galaxy S phones in the end. I signed up just to say that the post was helpful
When did people here become so intolerant with thread topics? This forum is practically dead compared to other sections. We have very little development going on, very little forward movement, so these informative posts are really the only reason I visit here day to day. An incremental update is better than no posts at all, Imo.
This pattern of poster abuse is much more annoying than the posts themselves.

Optimus S = Optimus One = Optimus V = Optimus "insert letter here". Though money wise, with the optimus s you might have been better off dumping sprint for the optimus v on virgin. Same phone, same network, no contract, phone is $150, unlimited text and data with 300 minutes of talk for $25 a month. Unbeatable.

just so you know, aosp has his same aospCMod for the optimus, check the wiki, you'll be right at home.

I am 100% sure that V rom works on the S, just asked aosp in the "livehelp" IRC and he confirmed, a few people are already using the ROM on the opt S.

yeah..that is pretty good deal...but i got it of ebay ($80) and i'm gonna wait till I can upgrade to a high end device...hopefully the Evo 3d...thank you anyway..it is something to think about...

LOL i just remembered when i started looking at the optimus that XDA didn't have a forum for it.. So instead of starting a new thread to say good bye, i did a quick search for optimus.. saw someone post something about leaving the hero.. and the rest is my lazy history..

Looks like AT&T and Motorola have got an internal build running out there. The video is interesting, things sure do look snappy.
Also it mentions Gingerbread might be coming between June and July...one can only hope!!

I consider this thread to be useful.
Therefore it will be locked by the mods. No I wont scroll through that stupid rumor thread.
Sorry, but the "rumor" thread is nothing but pages and pages of total crap about every phone in the world except the Epic, then the same guys that post all the garbage complain when people can't find something Epic related and they start a new thread. Makes no sense.

For someone who wants to be a trusted source, this is a really rude way to tru and get people to use your thread. They can unsticky it at any time, if they choose. Allow people to make choices. That's part of our love of Android as well.

This is still the Epic forum and that thread is a zillion pages of everything BUT the Epic. So, the original post of that thread may be on topic, the rest is all off-topic garbage that belongs somewhere else.
Zander, your OP in the rumor thread is nice because the links are all right there. However discussion about the topics it too splintered thoughout the thread. I honestly would rather see Epic related general topics each have their own thread where the posts are about that one topic. I think your thread is great for topics like what new phones are coming, or things about sprints future 4g plans, and things like that.
I wish the people that frequent your thread could just leave everyone else alone and not complain when someone starts an Epic related topic that has already had a mention in your thread.
I for one, only look at the OP of your thread just to find the links.
Not complaining, just my 2 cents.
