Fasterfix app from market
read all of this post so you don't screw yourself.
Instructions:
To speed up google maps nav: Install "Fasterfix" app from market, open app, accept super user permissions, pick region, reboot, then test via google maps navigation. Should speed it up $hit load, just as fast as my incredible when it was new. Hope this helps
Honestly until android comes up with a fix for the maps app I'm going to use WASE GPS found in market you MIGHT get a search for SIGNAL, BUT MUCH FASTER GPS.
FYI!!!!!!!! DONT REPICK REGION IN FASTERFIX APPLICATION!!!!! or you will have to do this:
It appears I was having some issues cingularly in the davlik cache because I changed my region in fasterfix because I figured what the fnck, and that screwed up my speed so when you pick your region stick with it or you will slow the crap out of navigation plus to fix it you will have unistall fasterfix, delete" @" under davik-cache, reinstall pick region, test via navigation.
Info:
Sorry about last post: you will only need to open Fasterfix app once.
Misc:
It appears that fastfix is server based location finder, what ever that means
Unfortunately the version of the market I am using keeps saying thas this app is not compatible with my device.
If somebody could post the apk that would great
4shared.com/file/RNm07fny/FasterFix.htm
Works great !! I guess the GPS receiver is fine , it might just be Honeycomb that is having a few issue trying to download the A-gps data by itslef.
Your welcome man
when I run fasterfix all I get is a black screen.
Did I bust it?

I too have the same problem with fasterfix, but even without that, following the other instructions, I managed to do the fix with 3 satellites in the house: D
Sorry for my bad english...
if you get just a blank screen on fasterfix i found that i needed busybox installed (mentions it in the market description if i recall correctly). and for those that arent sure, both fasterfix and busybox need root.
hope this helps

Thanks for the help, I installed Busybox, says it went okay, and I still get the BSOD. Do I need to link them in some way? Or something else?
Thanks
nope, should automagically figure it out. I did have to force-close fasterfix and reopen it though. you try that?

Any way you think we could get epst working since phone.apk is installed. On the evo with gb based roms running ##gpsclrx# fixed all GPS issues.

Used both and it worked a treat. Thanks!
For me, the best solution is to use my Nexus One's GPS chip, as it locks (and holds the lock, my biggest complaint with the A500 is that it loses the lock often - if it did this while I was lost somewhere, I'd be screwed). To that affect, I have the following apps to use.
On the A500 - Bluetooth GPS Mouse (I suggest this as it doesn't force close, and it works with Sygic's latest update). Be sure to turn "Allow Mock Locations" on (settings - applications - development).
On my Nexus One - Bluetooth GPS Output.
Both offer free trials (limits to like 10 minutes before you have to reconnect).

Well....the app does that without the epst(its hit or miss on the evo)
The epst is a service menu /apk on the evo........it doesn't really apply here
This gps fix has been used on qyuite a few phones Running cm7
Glad the op had time to try it....I mentioned it last week but haven't had time to jack with it
My biggest concern is this fix was designed for devices connected to a network......are you guys seeing that the fix holds when not connected to wifi/3g
Nope
I have tried everything that people have posted and still only random lock on GPS signal. Will never hold and I am on my 3rd A500 same results on all. Seems more that it is either an under powered or just poorly configured. My hope it that they can either increase the power of the GPS or change the way it locks. I have only a few times got more than 3 sat to show up. I will hold out for another month before I have to decide to keep or not, I love everything else about the A500 so I hope this gets fixed.
Oh and I was tethered between A500 and my D1 so I had network connectivity.
did both of these..but had same problem with fastfix blackscreen and could not get it resolved as there wqs no way to force close the app and just hsd to back out to the home screen. never chose a region and just uninstalled.
Now cannot fix a gps signal period. It was working relatively quickly before trying these methods but thought would further improve. Any help on getting back and erasing cache files/changes would be appreciated.
Tried both the fixes.
All I get is "location temporarily unavailable"
when off wifi
Is there a way to get applications to install on the Kindle Fire that require location? I don't plan on using the location part of these apps but I would like the other features on them.
I can't get them to side load. It keeps saying it can't install the application.
I still don't know why they didn't include WiFi location on this thing. That would be good enough for me and there isn't anymore cost to Amazon.

Have you tried enabling mock locations and even going so far as to set up tetherGPS?
Also, what apps are you trying to load that aren't loading?
I'm having the same problem with various apps. The good news is that the Amazon app store is expanding rapidly and the apps you want may be available there now.

Never heard of mock locations, I will have to look into that.
The two apps that I would like either or of are c:geo or the geocaching app. Mainly for getting info and logging.

Thanks, I will have to keep on checking to see if they get available. Being that they are location based apps, who knows if Amazon will allow you to install them.
I would love for someone to figure out a way to install the Google location into the Kindle Fire.
Mock locations work. In addition to enabling that and finding Assn app to fake location you'll need to enable network, gps as location sources as this fields outs used to determine requisite location processing regardless of whether you have GPS or cellular chips.
You should be able too follow generic mock location instructions for gingerbread, you'll also need to edit settings.DB manually.

Well the main issue is will the app install then? I'm thinking the Fire is rejecting any app that says it requires location services to be enabled.
Well I finally got the app to install. It only took editing the AndroidManifest.xml file. I took out the line that says it needs to use the maps library.. The app installs, but won't run because it requires this library. Force closes everytime. Now we know the issue why it's not installing. No Google libraries are on the Amazon Kindle.
Well I got the application to install and work successfully. The issue was not having the Google Maps framework installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20123452 .
And then on top of that I enabled mock locations which helps with the app as well. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1362472
Hi Guys/Girls,
My first post having got hold of my first Android tablet 7" MID A13 really impressed for the price I've not stopped messing with it, but I seem to have a problem. For some reason Google Maps and Google Earth seem to crash unless I use Location Spoofer to fake my location, my device does not have GPS but surly this shouldn't matter, any ideas?
Hi, if you don't have GPS, you won't be able to pinpoint your location.. unless you set it to a specific location.

Yer I understand that but Surely the program shouldn't crash on load is there anyway to permanently fake a gps position in a config file somewhere?
What options do you have checked in the location settings?
Hey all,
Just got a 6p and have run into an issue. I need the ability to set a fake location but I can't seem to get it to stick on the 6p.
I have tried a few different apps and even ran the expert mode via root with the " Fake GPS" app by MegApps. The location settings are set to device only with both WiFi and Bluetooth scanning options turned off. Yet no matter what I seem to do, the phone still picks up its native gps signal canceling out my mock location.
Anyone know a fix or have any suggestion? Any insight would be appreciated
Running stock with root and tried android N
Edit: After trying numerous apps I finally found one that worked properly. Not sure what's different about it but "Location Cheater" in the play store works
Hey I saw three apps with "Location Cheater" as a name in the play store. Which one worked?

Sorry double post
I try to follow the link you provided earlier

Could you please upload it somewhere
Thx in advance
Ps pardon my english
Greetings,
I'm desperate to get a region locked app to work -It is a Japanese IP Radio streaming app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.radiko.Player&hl=en
I had FakeGPS installed as system app - so no need to enable mock location
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.incorporateapps.fakegps&hl=en
Set location to Shinjuku, Tokyo - Verified location through Google Maps
Had PureVPN connected to Tokyo - Verified i'm assigned Tokyo IP through whatismyipadress.com
Done all the above - NO DICE - radiko.jp app would load then close itself - this program behaviour is usually due to attempt to intialise the app outside Japan
I'd really appreciate if there is another way to get this region-locked app working
FYI - I'm on stock root touchwiz 6.0.1- systemless root SuperSU - SM-G900I
Installed Xposed by Wanam SDK23 and Fake my GPS with Tokyo IP - Still no Joy - Fake my GPS uses a cool method to spoof location - I'm surprised that this doesn't work as well...
Is there some kind of debug log tool I could use to see what is it that is causing the app to close?
WTF... changed system time, timezone, region and locale to Japan, UTC/GMT +09:00 still no joy
I am having the same problem with this app, except I have not gone through the process of faking my location. I am running stock Nexus 5 with root. I believe the app might be detecting root.
