I want to make some of my own wallpapers, and I was wondering what the dimensions were for the expanded home screen?

i think the full wallpaper size is 960x800
Here is a couple screenshots, yes its 960x800 but when picking a wallpaper your given the option to resize. Unless of course you're writing them into a wallpaper program. Hope this helps.
Thread moved to Q&A.

I've been wondering about the size of wallpaper for topaz. When we download a wallpaper with 480x800 px in size then we view it on topaz, the wallpaper seems very sharp...but once we set it into wallpaper turn into kinda blur..
Maybe because it compressed to fit the space between the top and down bar?
Anybody know about it?

Its a common issue, newer manila builds allow you to set your landscape wallpaper separate from portrait.
When I use gallery/select/set as/wallpaper and crop as necessary, the displayed wallpaper is always larger than what I cropped to so not all of it shows up, hope that makes sense
What am I doing wrong?
I can't answer your question about how to crop your images for wallpaper, but I use the Mulitipicture Live Wallpaper app and it shows (and rotates) my photos so that they fit the screen.
ok, will have a look at that.

Great tip! Nice app sorts out the issue with wallpapers like it a lot.
Currently I have two homescreens with a scrollable wallpaper. When I first added the wallpaper, the widgetlocker screen would have the part of the wallpaper that is on screen two. Now it's moved to screen one for some reason and I'd like to change it back to the way it was as I'd moved the widgets around to fit in with the colour of the background.
Thanks
In the widgetlocker settings u can tick Alternate wallpaper and select the part which you want
Ah, I downloaded the wallpaper using the Backgrounds app. I dont think it saves to a place where I can view it.
edit: nevermind theres an option to save it on the app. Thanks!
how to set full screen wallpaper on Galaxy Tab 10.1 ?
i have 1280*800 wallpapers and try... I don't want to crop my wallpaper
i'm already try to search but no answer. Thx.
Go to the Market and download Wallpaper Wizardrii
It will allow you to set an image without having to crop it like the Gallery does.
It will also allow you to set the image as scrollable or static.

i tried wizardii and selecto no scrool but its auto crop my wallpaper (1280*800) i wanna direct set full wallpaper.
try multi picture live wallpaper it handles some wallpapers quite well without having to manually resize/crop them.
i dont live wallpaper. only static wallpaper.
Make your picture 1920x1200 or something like this and not 1280x800 because Android would need bigger picture because of scrolling.

multi picture live wallpaper app handles static pictures also. i am using it to put separate 1280*800 picture for each screen
What they don't tell you
I have looked at this for a little while and still can't seem to get it to work as I would like it to.
I found my wallpapers were cropped while rotating screens.
With the launcher and the wizardii wallpaper I set the landscape wallpaper while the device is in portrait mode and use set Stretch Landscape.
Using a static wallpaper and the scroll off.
It still appears to crop a little but you will have a full screen image in Landscape and portrait modes (like the 5 native wallpapers when you use the default wallpaper settings).
Simple Image Wallpaper Free is all you need. It's in the Google Play store and its awesome. Forget Wallpaper Wizardrii, it's garbage.

Brought this thread back from the dead just to thank you for this recommendation! Downgraded my Note Pro 12.2 to KitKat so I could root, and the cropping wallpaper problem reared its ugly head. Tried all kinds of screwy apps and supposed solutions before finding your recommendation. It's been perfect for a week now, including reboots. Thanks again!
I know that the screen is 1280x800, but if I download pictures at that size, I end up cropping parts off when choosing a wallpaper. Does anyone know what resolution our wallpapers can be?

I normally load a wall paper from my browser by holding my finger on it for about 3 seconds in browser (not chrome) rather then saving it and using the wallpaper selector. That way you don't need to crop.
Edit: Here is another way http://www.thetechchat.com/2012/01/...lpaper-without-cropping-on-an-android-tablet/ and another http://www.careace.net/2011/07/01/how-to-crop-size-honeycomb-wallpaper-tab-10/

by default, the wallpaper is a scrolling wallpaper. so if its anything like my galaxy note, you'll want 1280x1600 to allow for full scrolling.
