i've an HTC DESIRE Z stock rom but rooted.
I would like to hard reset it with the in mobile option (formatting also the micro sd) will i loose the root?
And if not is there a way to totally restore my htc desire z to fully factory default (no root, no superuser program and so on)??

Hey peeps....couple quick questions here. I flashed my X10 with the nordic 2.1 update....a post from bin4ry a while ago....i also rooted it with z4root and deleted some things. Now, im handing my X10 over to my fiancee to have but I wanna wipe my google account and all my info. If I just did a factory reset will the nordic 2.1 still load properly and will the phone still be rooted for her? And will the apps I removed still be gone?
Thanks!!!!
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
well, if u had flash the phone, i will restore back to original which means all data u previously have are wiped out.
it also means that rooting and app u once installed also wiped out.
if u did a backup using titanium, then the data still will exits in the sdcard in the form of titanium backup. so be sure the card formated.
sorry for my bad english
I have a similar q. I did the factory reset since my phone has to go to the service repair centre, but it still works mostly.
Anyway, I signed in with my google acc, and I want to remove it without having to do a factory reset again.
Where do you remove your google info in 2.1? I can't find it
My Elelinux-modded Hero is far too full of apps and I'd like to wipe the lot off and start from scratch with this G'bread mod. If I do a hard reset will it still boot to 2.3.4? Can I then just wipe the SD card? There is nothing I can't sacrifice on it.
Hey, I need some help with my Samsung Galaxy s4.
I rooted my phone for a week now and the last couple of days I noticed my phone is getting very warm. Only using Chrome and WhatsApp. It's insane hot when I charge it. So I was thinking to factory reset or hard reset my phone, but is it possible with a rooted phone? I never flashed a ROM and only downloaded some rooted apps like Greenify, Root booster etc.
Thank you in advance.
Robin.
Rooting your phone gives you access to the root of the file system, but is does not change any ordinary functionality of your phone. So you can perform a factory reset whether you are rooted or not. Also, I would be surprised if there is any connection between rooting the phone and overheating. It is more likely that the overheating is related to something you installed, either before or after rooting.
It is best to perform a factory reset from within recovery. Boot into stock 3e recovery and perform a "wipe data/factory reset." Before you do so, make backups of anything that you do not want to lose in the data partition, such as text messages, address book, call logs, etc. The data on your sdcard will not be affected.
Because my phone came with a third party app installed (Caping, some kind of Indonesian news app), I didn't trust it being sent to me straight from the factory without someone having interfered and possibly installed the app. So, I wanted to perform a factory reset. I can factory reset my phone through Settings, but is this a thorough reset? Is it possible to do a 'complete' reinstall using only the stock phone, so no root, no custom recovery, no tools? Let this Q&A thread be a guide for factory reset methods for our phones and what the main advantages of the methods are.
So something like http://www.stechguide.com/xiaomi-mi-a1-stock-firmware/ is not what u are looking for?
U can enter stock recovery?
