Mt4g flash not always working. - myTouch 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have noticed my flash often fires before the camera actually takes the picture and I am often left with dark picture. Any ideas?

Stock. It seems be never timed right. I had a nexus one which had a great camera and reliable flash. But that was stolen!

Xda app force closing

Has anyone else experiences this? It always happens after I go into another app or put the phone to sleep from xda. Usually after 10-15 minutes I go back into xda and it takes for to load. Then once I press back or home it force closes. Not a big deal but gets kind of annoying.

Yeah happens to me too. I go in, it says connecting to server forever, then I hit back to close that popup, then if I hit back again it slides over to a blank screen, then the force close notification pops up.

The stock CM Camera app allows you to switch cameras on there so you shouldn't need any other apps
Ffc works fine on CM7.

The icons were a bit confusing without labels at first...
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
The icon is definitely confusing. A picture with some mountains on it pretty much universally means "landscape mode" in the camera world. It's not really obvious that this is the button to switch from back to front camera.
The icon in the stock camera app was far more intuitive.
They are a little confusing...I wonder why they chose it like that. Anyway, CM7 all the way baby!!

Camera

Is there a way to get a time and date stamp on camera pics?

That would be great.
+1.

Does the front facing camera work for anyone on EG22?

I am using the odex eg22 rom and any picture I take with the front facing camera does not load. Anyone else have this issue?

Not really because I flipped my phone and the back camera is now the front facing camera. So I don't have this problem.

I'm on the DeOdexed, rooted EG22 and I have a working front-facing camera.
I just tested mine with the same setup and it worked fine.

Now when you say it works, did you try taking a picture?

Yeah, sorry I wasn't more specific. The front-facing camera takes pictures just fine.

Thanks for the replies. Wonder why mine doesn't work...

It doesn't pop up in your gallery you mean?
Perhaps it's your camera app itself, have you installed the new update in the Development(I believe) forum?
Mine works. Pops up in the gallery and everything.
Mine works fine as well.
Odd, I restarted my phone and now it's working...

Screen flicker on jelly bean.

So my glacier also has the screen flicker...I noticed it goes nuts if I touch the screen and hold my finger on the screen when the screen is off..but no flicker any other time..just thought I would pass this info along

That kernel is not fully tested . Also turn off auto brightness and set it to 20 % and try to change min cpu to 700 and report back

And I've been running it since last night just fine. No more screen flickers for me so far.

But then again I don't stare at my phone while the screen is off like the others do. So it may or may not be fixed.
I have CM10 4.2.1 and screen flicker is on. Flashing the .60 kernel did not help. Lowering the screen brightness did not helped much. The only problem I have is camcorder. It records for 8s and the freeze. I can leave with this for now. I like the JB. Missing my FM radio.
I believe that is a common problem for all jb roms on MT4G
